Life doesn't end at 25, gents. I'm 29 now, and this tune makes me weep for my wasted years. When this song came out I was a depressed shut-in who did little but drink, smoke, and play World of Warcraft. Then I think about all the great stuff I did, and remember to stop looking at my past through shit coloured glasses. I also remember that I've been invited to go to my first music festival, I've started studying law, and I'm in the best shape of my life. Despite having a partner with kids that I help look after, I still see/play games with the boys, work out, go drinking occasionally when I want to, and enjoy my life. My teens and early 20s were terrible. My late 20s are what my earlier years should have been. My life is great. And if you feel like life is terrible and your best years are behind you, find ways to reframe and continue to enjoy the stuff you once did, or if you don't enjoy that shit, do other shit instead. And if shits on top of you and you feel like your life is over, don't be ashamed to get help. This section is full of people that feel that way. Don't get too stuck in the past and forget to live, kings. ❤️
I'm 24 and mentally recovering from absolute shit years. I never asked for help and dragged myself out of the mess I made. I'm getting in touch again with my emotions and life has been better and better. I'm trying to deal with my past and becoming more and more positive as time goes on. I know I have awesome good friends that I can rely on and I'm grateful for having them in my life. I still feel alone sometimes and mentally drained. But I'm progressing. It's nice to read your story, it gives hope for the future that I know will be good and I know I'll turn in the man I want to become. Thanks.
