I’ve only read two twilight fanfics in my life, one was a crossover fic where the Cullens go to work at Dunder Mifflin, and the other was a rewrite of Bree’s life where she lives and is adopted by the Cullens.
Okay so never read any twilight fanfics but I’m going to check ao3 for twilight/the office fanfic. I want to find and bind this. The art I could do on the cover alone is making me giggle. Thank you for this 😂😂😂😂 I love fanfic writers. Shine on you crazy diamonds!
Breaking Dawn was the worst book, especially knowing this information about Brie giving information to Edward that likely would have been used in the future. Granted, the movie was better than the book because of that battle scene, but had they made part of the book from either Edward or Alice’s perspective and really dived into the battle preparations and tied in the info from Eclipse and maybe some other times they had to fight vampires, or when Abraham Lincoln defeated the vampire army in the civil war…. Anyways I hope Stephanie Meyers makes more vampire pov books or novellas
Yeah i agree!! The info revealed in this book would have made breaking dawn WAY better and an Alice POV would be sooooo sick I would love a novella about her tracking down the other half vampire!!
Breaking Dawn is the worst, ugh. 😭 I remember being a teenager and reading it and being like, “BELLA WOULD NEVER DO THIS, SHE HATES KIDS.” I sought out so many alternate versions of the last book because I hated the Renesmee plot line so much.
RUclips doesn’t like me pasting the link. It’s on the old fanfiction site ending in net. It’s called An Open Letter Regarding Bree Tanner. Warning, my early 20s self was a bit more Christiany and it shows, so trigger warning for the Everything Happens For A Reason trope, lol.
Honestly i clicked on this because it was my FAVORITE book in the series. I loved the different perspective, the bleak reality Bree faces, the way it unfolds. I 100% agree with your points though because it really contrasts with what it could have been.
I liked this book a lot. I always thought this story was told for bella. To see what life for vampire Bella would be like if she had never met the Cullens.
that’s a really good point! I can totally see it being if bella didn’t have the cullens to guide her, i was still disappointed by how little vampire stuff it felt like she actually did though!
Brings into question how vampires can get a boner - that's not the question to ask, especially since they are always as hard as stone. The question should be, how can they excrete any vible fluid from that part of their body. They can't pee or become engorged, and sperm is viable for only 36 hours after death. And they are technically dead. So Bella should not have been able to become pregnant with Edwards baby.
esp if a vampire’s body is “frozen” (iirc that’s how rosalie described herself to bella when talking about being infertile-because-vampirism)! meyer established in-universe reproduction laws and then went back on them bc bella and edward are special i guess wtf!!
@blackandblue_13 Exactly.! But th thing about SM and Twilight is she broke the lare aby time it got in her way. There are inconveniences all over that series.
My brain tried to explain the lack of Edboi sharing what Bree had told him as him not actually listening because he was so stressed about Beller and jayjaythejetplane getting hurt. His nod in Eclipse is done right after Jane agrees with him that they’re sorry they were late but the same nod in Short Second Life is supposedly him acknowledging all that Bree told him. So my mind is like “okay, Bree thought he listened to her but maybe he wasn’t which is why Edboi never told the rest of the Cullens what he learned even after the Volturi danger had passed and why they never sought out Fred on Bree’s behalf - in short, Edboi is a selfish butt and Bree died for nothing” It’s a real shame though, SM made this compelling side character just to 💀 her off so that the Volturi could maintain their status as a threat without actually having to lose any of the core characters or face real loss. I think what’s most telling is the Breaking Dawn quote about childhood being the kingdom where nobody d!es… SM is making it clear that this is a children’s story because in this story, Harry Clearwater and Bree Tanner are the only non-villain characters that are lost. An argument could be made for Irina but she’s the catalyst for the standoff at the end of BD so as the reason the Cullens are scared, she’s seen as a villain and the only people who are sad to see her go are her sisters.
Okay, is no one going to mention how beautiful she looks? I had to put the phone screen down to actually listen to the video, was all heart eyes through the intro
I haven’t read the book, but giving it my 2 cents after watching this, it feels like mormonism influences Meyer’s way of sharing her own world too much for us outside the faith. Like, for her to actually delve into the predatorial tendencies of vampirism without presenting it only as something inherently to overcome and that brings suffering, she would have to accept it as something worth exploring in a non moralist way, from the standpoint of a predator, and a creature she made to be a killer. But killers are bad, so the biggest part of themselves has to be presented with the making that effort to become “good”. It’s like trying to portray a wild animal only in relation to us valuing domesticated ones, so the story goes into the taming of it and dangerous life it lives, not the life of running wild and carefree. Which yes, killers are bad, but that’s why we root for them in fiction only. But that’s just an assumption, of course, I’d have to actually read it to be fully informed. Nonetheless, it was a good one, and a show I’d suggest for a good exploration into vampirism, the predatory aspects of it and intense romance, but on the opposite side of the moral spectrum, is the Interview with the Vampire show! The books are very good, but the show managed to explore the characters and their relationships even more, especially with the protagonist. It has some very heartbreaking moments, though, and is strong on the violence, but very beautiful, philosophical and poetic
I saw this book for really cheap on a flee market a few days ago and I bought it and read it in two days. Bro the book is BAD. The "HULK smash" scene? Bree and Diego's cringe ass relationship, the way you see every twist coming from the first page (like Diego being long dead etc). The second half is more readable than the first half but oh boy
Ive only read this book once because I find it incredibly sad how both her human and vampire lives were horrible. She spent both lives just trying to survive. Bree never had a chance💔
Have you ever read the Thirst series by Christopher Pike??? It was one of my favourites as a pre-teen and teenager, and I think still stands up as an adult at almost 30!
Wasn’t there a part in the movie Eclipse, that Edward mentioned maybe Jane knew about the vampire army? That Victoria and Riley created an army to fight the Cullens? I don’t remember if that part in the book
I hate the twilight franchise, i believe its problematic and poorly written. I don't personally understand why anyone would like it and i don't think its something young girls with impressionable minds should be reading.
I don’t like the books, The movies are okay. I don’t like Bella Swan, she’s the same as Edward, a horrible mate. But you can’t deny that SMeyer created an interesting world.
Midnight Sun is so bad that I had to listen to this in 2x speed with some breaks. Edward is exhausting like with the child grapist. Edward was literally waiting until he would do the act for like 5 pages. It’s terrible.
If they clink when they kiss, does that mean that them doing the "do" sounds like a mortar and pestle?
no stop that mental image is AWFULLLLL does their sex sound like scraping stones?? noooooooooooo
this is gonna haunt me for the rest of my days 😭 you’re so right it has to
@@meredithnovaco sorry. It just clicked when you said it. And then I had to share
Aaaaaaa the friction no lube can cure 😭😭😭
@@meredithnovacothat is the rheumatoid arthritis experience. Joints be creaking all the time but even doing the do

wait the cullens at dunder mifflin is sooooo funny wtf
Great, now Carlisle is going to have to start doing laps around the ICU looking for some guy on the brink of death to be his new kids boyfriend.

Dont mind my very long run on sentence 😙✌️
Yeah i agree!! The info revealed in this book would have made breaking dawn WAY better and an Alice POV would be sooooo sick I would love a novella about her tracking down the other half vampire!!
I never mind!! Love reading your guys thoughts!!
Nah I hope she writes more Sci fi, The Host slaps
Breaking Dawn is the worst, ugh. 😭 I remember being a teenager and reading it and being like, “BELLA WOULD NEVER DO THIS, SHE HATES KIDS.” I sought out so many alternate versions of the last book because I hated the Renesmee plot line so much.
I was always intrigued by Fred the Vampire and his gift of repelling others.
I only ever wrote one Twilight fanfic, and it was about Bree Tanner, lol
do you still have the link 👀👀👀 I would love to read it!!
@ lol, lemme look for it

The grip this book had over my at like 12/13 I still have my OG copy and I re read it every few years
Honestly i clicked on this because it was my FAVORITE book in the series. I loved the different perspective, the bleak reality Bree faces, the way it unfolds.

I think about this book often ngl. They did bree so fuckin dirty
right???

I used to think this book was so good when I read it in middle school 😭

I wish Bree lived and became good and became a family with the Cullens
right?? it would have been so fun to watch her learn to control herself!!
Same. Fuck The Volturi
My brain tried to explain the lack of Edboi sharing what Bree had told him as him not actually listening because he was so stressed about Beller and jayjaythejetplane getting hurt. I remember liking this one the most out of all the books 😂😂
thank you meredith its great to see an upload first thing!! 💖 i didnt even know about this book, thanks for being a meyerverse completionist !
Ooh if you read it let me know what you think!! It comes in the box set but life and death doesn’t?? I’m not sure why
Correction: the white box set doesn’t have it but I just checked and the black box set does, even weirder
JUSTICE FOR BREE 😭💔

yeah it’s not winning the man booker prize 😭😭
@meredithnovaco I wasn't expecting a good book but it was worse than what I imagine.
Bree reminded me too much of Bella.
With the way she thinks and acts.
Ive only read this book once because I find it incredibly sad how both her human and vampire lives were horrible. She spent both lives just trying to survive. Bree never had a chance💔

ooh I have not but I will put it on my list!!
Ive never seen anyone talk about these books but I LOVE them ❤ I reread the first few books all the time!
Dude I've been trying to find those books to read again but it's been impossible! It's like they only existed in my old library as a teen
Omg I had completely forgotten about this!!!
I never even knew this book was out there. I might read it, it’s an interesting perspective.
Wasn’t there a part in the movie Eclipse, that Edward mentioned maybe Jane knew about the vampire army? That Victoria and Riley created an army to fight the Cullens?
I don’t remember if that part in the book
I am reading it for the first time this week and I have been a twilight fan who has loved the books and movies since 2008
I think Edward would have told the Cullens but not mention it to Bella. He has hidden information in the past from Bella.
I always got the impression from movie and book that Edward was pissed and knew but thought it was so weird it wasn’t mentioned in breaking dawn.
it's the best of the series.
Alice and jasper deserve a book, change my mind lol the fact that we got a gender bend twilight before an Alice and jasper book hurts my soul lol
I liked this one
honestly i liked it better then the main twilight series but it could have been better done
You both said you enjoyed this book AND were very disappointed in it.
Make a little spider 🕷️
❤
clickbait works bc the title got me to watch this boring video about a boring book
I hate the twilight franchise, i believe its problematic and poorly written. I don't personally understand why anyone would like it and i don't think its something young girls with impressionable minds should be reading.
100% this. As a woman who was a teenager right when the Twilight saga became popular, I completely agree w you
The millions of fans and sustained interest spanning over decades disagree with you
