- Long discontinued and now seemingly priced at "luxury niche" level when you can find one, i did wonder whether this was one of those "smells great because it's discontinued" scents, or actually worthy of the hype.
I am sure i have subscribers who know this scent well, would love your thoughts.
I love vintage designer, it's where I'm at in my "journey" at the moment. The thrill of the chase is so good
Gone, but never forgotten.
My all time favourite designer scent and nothing comes close even to this day.

I agree on the clones, but if someone was able to get close to this one i'd be tempted.
This one is really nice. I was lucky to come across half a bottle for cheap. Smells very classy and smooth. A real gentleman scent.

Ah yes, this is one of my sigs. I have multiple bottles of both the aftershave balm and the various other sizes. I am obsessed with collecting Envy. I also have the shave gel and deoderants. Yes, those are not cheap, but frags are my collector cars.
I sadly gave mine away to a friend when I left the states. It has always been one of my all time favorites...and always will be. For some reason, not sure if it’s just nostalgia or what, but the scent of Envy has resonated with me from the first time ever smelling it. Oddly enough I’ll never forget the moment either. When I purchased my first bottle I was lucky enough to get my hands on one the deodorants as well. I tried my best to resist the urge to use it but that went out the window after some time. I do wish they’d bring it back. Such good memories within that bottle of luscious lemon-lime tinted fluid.
I've found one in my father's collections, even tho I'm 20 yo and some people think that this fragrance is outdated, I must say IT'S A CLASSIC MASTERPIECE.
Gucci Envy is one of the best ever, it's just perfect.
One of the rare cases where I like the women’s version better, which sadly left with Tom Ford as well. The bottle I bought from Ebay unfortunately smells off, so I am not gonna risk it anymore and let it go. There are so many beautiful perfumes out there... Anyway, thank you for the fantastic review!

Yes it would be really great if clone houses worked on some of the great classics that are no longer available. One that always comes to mind is YSL Rive Gauche.
My very first Gucci envy for men was in 1997,and it's expensive back in the day!! to tell you guys,honestly, it remained inside the region of my brain , just by the mention of Gucci envy triggers the senses!! When I wear Gucci,you feel very confident,you feel like you can go where ever you want,when you walk past people,crowds,the scent you carry makes them all aware , turning their heads trying to identify that SCENT,which is GuCCI !!!
My signature scent for many years, just before I've found RL Polo.

My grandfather had a bottle in his bedroom on top of his wardrobe. Untouched for years. I stayed with him for a month and I used to sneak a few sprays before work every morning. I was in love with myself every morning going to work haha. I should really ask him if I can have it as he never uses it. But it’s been 4 years now.

Definitely one of the reasons I don't mind clones. As long as the get it right, it serves the original brand right for discontinuing one of their best. I'm sure someone has mentioned Carven's Homme in the comments as an alternative (a stellar frag on its own), but even that one has become difficult to find. Glad I have a bottle, but in all honesty, I should've picked up a backup. That one is on me.
I enjoy Envy but I prefer the original Carven Homme and Floris Santal. They all have many similarities. Carven Homme is discontinued and going for crazy prices like Envy. You can get Floris Santal at a great price. Excellent review. Peace

Floris has's sales often . I did sample their Santal, it came in the discovery set.
The spice reminds me of a Bon perfume. I don't remember which one.
I thought Santal had patchouli in it ?

I had this fragrance in 1998 and i fell in Love with Envy for men....since today.
In my oppinion is EfM the Quintessence of spicey/Woody fragrances.
I know there are many Dupes/Clones outhere, but they are Sooo expensive...Niche Stuff.
I want a cheap Clone.
I found one that is called "New Brand - Xpression". But I don't know how it smells.
I like Envy and i do enjoy it every time i wear it but my favorite will always be Gucci pour homme. So perfectly well blended. A review on that by you would be great Pep.

For anyone missing Envy like myself , pick up Eclat 642 from Germany. This is truly a killer Gucci envy clone. I have the original and it's hard to tell the difference for me, especially once the dry-down kicks in. I was so glad to discover this as it's my all time favorite and am now wearing it again daily. Longevity is insane, better, then the original. Try it!

i cant beleave that i still have it half of 100ml edt spry and half 100ml edt lotion. having them for las more than 10 years . love them
Nice review I wish it was still available :-( just did a review of Floris Santal which I think is the best alternative I have found so far which is affordably priced and still available.
Love this scent. I was lucky enough to find a bottle in Hong Kong back in 2010 while I was doing a specialty coffee gig there. Could not believe my luck. Payed like 45 for 50 ml. Why did I only buy 1 bottle .😱😱😱

I am dying to smell some Envy or similar one about 7 years but no chance. And some people says Gucci Nobile was better thanks god i do not know how it smells
It is sometimes a goodthing to not have smelled these discontinued perfumes
I owned this years ago. I was moving and needed to downscale, so I was stressed and haphazardly throwing away a lot of stuff. Long story short - I chucked a 3/4rds-full bottle of Gucci Envy. Regrets...

I still have the original... hardly used. But unfortunately for me it’s a grail that l wouldn’t let go. Atleast for a cheap price. 😁👍😉

To my nose, Gucci Envy is at the top of my dislike list. I received it as a gift, shelved it, sold it.
