Displaying different ways to calculate Z-scores is very helpful to see the comparison of the athletes' performance. It makes it easier to identify how far above or below an average athlete's performance is. Thank you!

I think it is amazing how you can analyze the Z-scores to understand how each athlete's performance compares to the reference group. For example, athletes with higher positive Z-scores have above-average jump heights, while those with negative Z-scores have below-average jump heights compared to the reference group.

I really appreciate your video. Very clear and straightforward. However, I have some doubts at 12:01 when you pointed out that athlete 6 had a decent sprint time because the time was about 1 standard deviation above the mean. In fact, the function is showing a green box because there is a high number above the mean, although, a high sprint time is not something you would pretend. Care must be taken when analyzing these data as a higher time can be interpreted as a positive outcome when is not.

  • @blizzy13

For sprint time, should we consider that a lower score is better? So in terms of a z-score we would want to multiply our calculation by negative one, so that our lower scores are seen as better scores?

Just be careful with interpreting Z scores in terms of speed as highest negative value which is highlighted red is actually the opposite with that person probably being one of the fastest out of the sample

    • @ruifernandes6336

How to fix this? I have the same problem to make a spider graph. The fastest player in the Z Score is the worst.
