This is exactly what I always say and people don't understand. People think that because it cost so little they must cut covers somewhere but that's not always true. The truth is it really didn't cost much to manufacture many products at scale. Benchmade can manufacture a knife at cost for maybe 30 to 50 dollars in raw materials then add a few dollars for labor and packaging materials and then sell it for $400 and we accept that because we don't know the true cost of manufacture. These Chinese clones reveal to us the true cost of manufacture. Of course it costs more to produce here in the US but still the price is hiked up to create maximum profit and the illusion that it is worth that much. That iphone that cost $1000 probably cost$100 - $200 to manufacture at volume. This is just the way it is for all products. People are always looking for reasons why the knife is so inexpensive, the truth is, this mass produced knives and other products should really cost

The really great thing about these fakes, (aside from having really cool pot-metal blades, and being made with slave labor.) is the fact that if anything goe’s wrong with it, you can just send it to the Chinese Benchmade factory, and they will make everything OK. But really, what could go wrong when we all know the Chinese people’s reputation for quality and workmanship?
I can’t justify spending $120 For a folding knife But I can get for a quarter of the price and does the same thing. Is it a knock off? Yup. Is it cheap. Yup. I guess I won’t feel bad if it breaks or I lose it. And im happy knowing benchmade didnt take me to the bank.

Can you share the link or seller name from wish? I would like to acquire on but there are hundreds of ads. Nice video, thank you.
The seller is “LBLL”. Just be aware the shipping takes a long time. Like over a month.
Lol the box says blue class, and the knife is OD green.
Blue class doesn’t indicate the color of the knife. Blue Class is Benchmade’s mainstream product line. They also have a “Black Class” for example.
of course it's good, especially for the price
how did it stand up, I've got one on the way
Held up pretty well for me
I'm dying to know how the blade steel held up.
Do you think it's made of 9Cr or 10Cr?
It’s held up really well actually. My guess is 8Cr or maybe 9Cr.
@@OhioBladeandCutlery Thanks for answering, good to know👍!
@@OhioBladeandCutlery I know their "expensive" bugout clones (+/- $38) with carbon fiber or titanium scales use D2.
🤔I love my $28 Ganzo👍🏻
You've had it for a while, what's the update?
It’s held up well. No complaints
I'm guessing it's not really S30V?
Right, it almost certainly isn’t.
So how did it hold up? Is it D2?
It has held up great. My assumption is it’s D2, but I never tested it.
Does the fake have nylon or bronze washers?
Nylon
Any updates?
It’s been a great knife. No issues yet. Holds an edge very well
Hey there would you be able to send me the exact one you bought off wish because I don't want to buy a rubbish version of one of those.
Here ya go!
💰 Look what I found on Wish! I'm giving you $5 off your first purchase with code: rxldzjp
dl.wish.com/UHK8q
Seller is LBLL.
What kind of steel is it?
No idea on these clones. I’d have to get it tested
What color is this one?
Green
Fakes might be good enough to fool some people but it’ll NEVER fool you 😉
🤣
Just went and bought one😂
Awesome
Cincinnati checking in!!
Subbed!
Awesome! Welcome to the channel, I always love to hear from fellow Ohioans
Better than a real one
Man they have upped their game!
That have indeed
produced by Lemifshe. real D2 steel, hence the oil film.
edit: just strop it 5 times per side and it will be razor-sharp ;-)
Good to know!
Ok by me, BM causes their own $$ problem, love mine!
You payed 30 I paid 7 for the one that's coming😂
Sounds like you got a good deal!
Buy a Benchmade for showing off or end of the world play. Buy a decent knockoff to beat the living hell out of everyday. Plus if a cop "confiscates" it, no big deal. You hearing me Chicago?
Crazy how they get away with that shite lol.
👊💀
Well it's China. They steal everything from everyone.
I mean $300 for a real one? A bit steep imo
Update!!!
Haven’t had any issues with it. Still works great and holds an edge for a decent amount of time
$31 not to bad
Yep, seems like a great knife for the money
Honestly in that 2 month wait time you should be able to figure out a way to save some money and buy the real thing, I think you’ll have a much better experience with the real deal, these fakes are tarnishing benchmades name because not everyone realizes there fakes
I’ve had the authentic Benchmade 535 in black and it was a terrific knife. I was just curious what you get with the fake one. Thanks for watching brother
Ah I see, yea I can’t fault you for being curious I’ve wondered how they were before. Can’t wait to see how it holds up.
👍👊
Could spend a month saving up the extra cash to buy the real thing and you'll have a great knife + make a CEO happy. Or wait a month and get 4 great knives and still have enough left over to take the women out to dinner. But its always great to support American companies when you can. The problem is foreign companies have such a big lead over the US counterparts.
That iphone that cost $1000 probably cost $100 - $200 to manufacture at volume. This is just the way it is for all products. People are always looking for reasons why the knife is so inexpensive, the truth is, this is what mass produced knives and other products actually cost. Not what we think they should cost
If you can’t tell those are orange and not gold like Benchmade you may need to get your eyes checked.
I’m actually color blind so that’s the reason I guess
I’ve bought real Microtecs and Benchmades and these knockoffs from DHgate are pretty close replicas. You would have to know the knives very well to tell the difference. The latest I bought a clone Combat Troodon and everyone thinks I spent 1,300 on this thing it’s that close to the original.
Yep, they are super hard to distinguish from the real ones.
As good as an Mtech (which legitimately says it's made in China).
I think this is better than an MTech
If you think that’s a hot knife through butter you never owned a sharpe knife……. Just the sound isn’t right as it’s cutting. There are clones yea and I have met some just as good but I won’t agree with you on this one. You get what you pay for but then again I don’t agree with benchmades price on bugouts.
stab the stump for tip
I usually do. Not sure why I didn’t with this one.
I have one of these counterfeit Benchmade Bugouts. That people pay such ridiculous prices for these unremarkable things astounds me. Possibly the most overrated knife I've heard of. Boring, and feels cheap, almost as if it's made for children.
You should chop that clone trash in half
Maybe I will!
I heard they literally use olive oil to oil their fake knives lol
Why. It's more expensive than almost any alternative
Chairmade Crapout
I will say ,,,,if you buy a benchmade and it comes with a really good grind......its a fake.....benchmade knives come with the worst grind of any knife I have ever bought....just mho
Put a Ferrari sticker on my Volkswagen and it`s soooo mutch faster now..........
😂
Bench is stupid overpriced. When you can’t tell the difference between the clone and og, you know you’ve been taken for a ride.
🤣🤣🤣
Pretty good fake ⛩⛩⛩⛩⛩
Yeah, they are getting very hard to tell from the real thing. Seems like a great knife for $31 too
Don’t buy Chinese crap it doesn’t compare to the original, buy American Benchmade and if you don’t have the money, save until you do it’s worth it!
I agree with you, but if you want a cheap beater knife, this one isn’t bad.
Boo
Fake...👎
Worst blade in ohio
Lol, I assure you there are way worse ones here in Ohio
Of course it's not S30V lol it's either 9cr or one of those possibly D2.
