Pe acest concert îl ascult de mai multe ori fara sa derulez nimic. Personal cred ca aceasta e muzica, care o vom cânta si asculta în Împarația lui Dumnezeu sau ceva foarte asemanator. Nu doar compozițiile ci si stilul în care se cântă aici. La alte concerte se cânta într-un stil care sigur nu se va auzi în veşnicie.

It's nice to hear that somewhere in the Adventist church they still play and sing beautiful music! I of course recognized the hymn that in the english-speaking world is usually known as "How Great Thou art" (in this video with the title "Spre Cel din Slavi", beginning just before 34 minutes). I noticed that the music is attributed to Stuart Hine (Stuart Wesley Keene Hine) who discovered the hymn sung in Russian in Ukraine in 1931, and later created the well known english paraphrase (loose translation) of it, on which apparently the Romanian/Moldovan version is based. The Hymn has quite some history before Stuart Hine, though. The Russian translation was done in 1912 from the German version, translated from swedish in 1907 by an Estonian born german who had heard the hymn sung among the swedish-speaking minority in Estonia. The hymn originates with the swedish poem "O Store Gud" (O great God) written by Carl Boberg in 1885, first published in a local newspaper on March 13, 1886, and shortly after set to a likewise swedish traditional tune, which is the music of the hymn we know today. The first known occasion it was sung in public was in a church in Värmland, Sweden, in 1888, and eight of the nine stanzas first appeared in a swedish hymnal "Sions Harpan" in 1890, with the full nine stanzas with music published in the christian magazine "Sanningsvittnet" (witness of the truth) on April 16, 1891. At that time Sweden - today considered to be a very secular country - was strongly protestant (Lutheran) christian with a very strong revival of "free churches" with an emphasis on personal repentance and consecration to God. In the 1840:s there had been an advent revival including young children, typically aged from four to fifteen, who suddenly under the influence of the Holy Spirit, started preaching repentance and the second coming of Jesus to the people that happened to be gathered around them. This went on for several years and happened on many occasions and in many places, circumventing the prohibition of spiritual gatherings without the presence of a state church priest that was in place at that time. When that prohibition was finally lifted, a strong growth of evangelical "free churches" followed; the "Mission covenant church of Sweden" (Missionskyrkan), of which Carl Boberg was a lay minister, being one of them. Boberg was also an editor of the christian magazine "Sanningsvittnet" for 26 years, and later a member of the swedish parliament for 20 years. He wrote and published a large number of hymns, poems and gospel songs, and also collaborated with well-known swedish hymnist Lina Sandell. Also around those times of revival and rise of evangelical free churches, early Seventh Day Adventist believers in Sweden formed the first swedish Seventh Day Adventist church in the village of Grythyttan (1880). Stuart Hine wasn't the first one to translate the hymn and bring it to the english-speaking world. The hymn (4 stanzas) was published in the USA in swedish in 1914 by the Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant of America. (The USA had a large number, probably around or more than a million, swedish immigrants at the time, many of whom spoke swedish as their first language.) An earlier english version from 1925, translated by E. Gustav Johnson, was printed in "The Covenant Hymnal", initially including verses 1,2 and 7-9 of Carl Bobergs poem, later including all nine verses (1973). As of 1996 both E. Now three months later after listening to this wonderful choir and orchestra all the way through three or more times, I have two words to describe this celebration of Jesus, the power of the Gospel, and of the church to stand firm with conviction & joy in these challenging days - BEAUTIFUL - and WONDERFUL. Even though I did not pull out the translation into English for each song, I can clearly sense that the order and placement of the selected music is inspired to great effect as one powerful message of truth from God. am fi interesati daca se mai canta ceva din imnul protestant care este la baza credintei protestante , azi auzim tot feluri de broderii fanteziste, dar nimic concret, o muzica dulceaga care ne duce pe un taram de visare fara sens, putin ceva de tip New age, cu ceva zguduire de sincope, ca o muzica de film
Doamne , l-am ascultat de zeci de ori si nu mă satur . O adevărată SLAVĂ la adresa Bunului TATĂ , a FIULUI ȘI SFÂNTULUI DUH . ADEVĂRATĂ muzică sacră , așa cum dorește Dumnezeu. Sînteți toti perfecți , artiști in muzica CERULUI , profesioniști. Iarăși zic : Doamne ce muzică , imi merge la SUFLET si mă mîngîie în boală și în suferință.
