Tumor Markers are Biological substances synthesized and released by cancer cells themselves or Produced by the host in response to the presence of tumor.
Most tumor markers are proteins.
Detected in a solid tumor, in circulating tumor cells in peripheral blood, in serum, lymph nodes, in bone marrow, or in other body fluid (urine, stool, ascites)

Greetings from Egypt, you are excellent .♥️
Love from India 🇮🇳.
Very good
Thank you soo very much, you just made life easier, I wish I can like this one than once, Med Student Nigeria
Wow. Love from India
Hi, good day.
I have a question for what does the 4th point of the ideal t.marker mean? does this property bring higher sensitivity?
Thank you.
It brings high specificity which means we can correctly exclude the individuals who have not disease or cancer. Have a good day
@@Biochemistrybasics thanks a lot for your reply sir.
@@Biochemistrybasics so, does the words "other tissues" meant by any tissue other than the cancerous tissue?
because for my interpretation, this statement means the ideal t.m. is specific for cancer tissue and it has different immunological properties with the same type but healthy tissue, thus brings higher sensitivity and specificity, but to avoid misunderstanding, hopefully sir can explain more. thank you so much for you time sir.
@@irisharxiaoru2023 Yes your interpretation is correct. From other tissue means other healthy tissue than the cancerous tissue. And it applies to all Biomarkers not only tumor markers. All Biomarkers should be specific and sensitive
@@Biochemistrybasicsso for specificity, yes it is high, but for sensitivity, i think this property can make it higher too, because even its level is low in the early age, as long as it is present, we can suspect the presence of tumour..am i right? thank you sir for your quick reply👍🏻👍🏻
Thank u sir😊....
Good information ✌️
Thank you
You are giving the reference from which book you have taken the content that is very beneficial for us.as teachers want we shd code the book from where we have taken the content. After understanding the topic from you ,we can read it from where you told.it good for seminars .thank you so much
It's mention at the end of every video of mine
Thank you so much for the splendid explanation sir! Sir plz make more videos on biochemistry of cancer! It's a humble request sir 🙏🙏🙏
Will do. Thanks and Regards
Sir u r excellent.
Thank you सूफिया. You made my day 😇
@@Biochemistrybasics 😊
Thank you so much 🌟🌟
You are welcome janki. Keep loving biochemistry and do spread the word about the channel 😊
My VEGF and IL-4 are extremly high. I heard that VEGF can be spread from tumors. Would you recommend that I should test for other tumor markers as well? PSA is normal.
Sir u elevated my interest in the biochem😊☺thank u sir...:)
, sir try using iPad, chalk and talk method....make more videos for mbbs ug stdnts as we hardly find any channel for mbbs prof!
That's one of the great feedback which I have received harish. My main aim is to increase the interest of students in biochemistry as it is the subject more than the cycle and charts. It's applications are widely applied in medicine.
Right doing my best with the limited gadgets which I have... In future for sure I will try ipad.
Keep loving biochemistry and do spread the word about the channel 😊
@@Biochemistrybasics sir i did subscribed, and shared among my batchmates.
Exactly sir , falling in love with biochem, but the thing is we need to have a teacher who simplifies it,,,n .u taught many topics in 15mins wt my sir couldn't do it in 1hr ..!!!😍😇☺
@@Dr.Harish_Sharma 😊🙏✌️
Sir plz make a video on gastric function tests (GFT)
Noted 😇
