It's not a global group it's a kpop group with foreign members they sing in korean they live in korea and their agency dr music is in korea fatou is there since a long time ago she was in the group with former korean members and 1 other foreign ( you can check tonight and close to me are with them) then the agency decided to keep only fatou who is senegalese and raised in belgium and search new non korean members who are sriya from india, gabi from brazil and germany and nvee who is mixed (black and white) from the us. since then they are the group that you see now you can check karma and cat&mouse mvs ❤ that are their previous songs. Sorry for the long comment but i know it's difficult to understand since for example katseye and vcha are actually global groups trained with the kpop system under kpop agencies but sing in english and xg are global group too because they are singing in english with japanese members 😅
@@Kiki.kikiiii if you want but it's better to separate both kpop and global bc of other global groups that are not kpop but had a kpop training it's already confusing for a lot of people to know who is kpop group or not
@@lilly5ile it’s not confusing it’s basic common sense blackswan sing in Korean therefore makes them a kpop group but they have global members and promote globally so they are a global kpop group the others sings in English they just a global group it’s not a hard concept so no point in separating global from the kpop
Tell me global means only to sing in English, funny lol But BLACKSWAN not only use Korean, English , new song (ce's jam evu) french, japanese Also they are one of the group who speaks portngue, Hindi, Tamil, English, japanese, french, selenglese and littlebit Chinese also This is called global work You guys are so obsessed with global that big companies took the idea from blackswan after their karma release The groups like vcha and katseye are only American pop group but the fact you guys don't want to accept
It's a Korean Kpop Group with foreign, non-korean, members. Just because there aren't any Korean members anymore, it doesn't stop it from being a Korean group or make become a Global Group automatically.
Hi Rj! So, I'm a newer Lumina myself so I don't have all the details. I do not know all about all the lineup changes and such from before, but I truly don't think it's relevant. The wikipedia page details things pretty well but the current Blackswan has their own identity and none of the members other than Fatou were ever in any of the previous lineups. I think it's fine to say that this new Blackswan are something new entirely. The current Blackswan lineup are here to stay and slay! The girls have wonderful chemistry together. The members are: - Fatou (2:04, 29, Senagalese, raised in Belgium, Leader, Main Rapper) - NVee (2:00, 25, American, Main Vocalist) - Gabi (2:10, 21, Brazilian, Sub Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Visual) - Sriya (1:23, 20, Indian, Lead Vocalist, Main Dancer, Maknae) Roll Up was actually choregraphed by Kany, who has choregraphed for Beyonce before and also choreographed for SHINee. She choregraphed SHINee's "Hard". This is huge for the girls, after all the lineup changes and controversies, it finally feels like Blackswan has found their strength and confidence and maybe I'm just being hopeful, but it finally seems like the company has gotten their sh*t together enough to be putting better effort into the girls' comebacks now. I highly recommend their songs "Karma" and "Cat & Mouse." For this current Blackswan lineup, "Karma" is the start of their rebirth and growth into a formidable group! The Karma music video was shot in India to pay homage to Sriya's home and culture. It's really beautiful. Please look forward to more from Blackswan! It's only up from here :D EDIT: Just to clarify, Blackswan is a Kpop group. They do not market themselves as a global group. They train in Korea, speak Korean, sing in Korean, run by a Korean company etc etc the members are just diverse :)
As someone who’s been there since 2020, here’s a music timeline for Blackswan (with members): 2020 Tonight (debut): Fatou, Youngheun, Judy, Hyeme, Leia 2021 Close To Me: Fatou, Youngheun, Judy, Leia (Hyeme left due to a scandal) 2023 Karma: Fatou, NVee, Gabi, Sriya (current line up) 2023 Cat & Mouse: (current line up) If you’re interested in the current line up, I definitely recommend checking out Karma and Cat & Mouse. I feel like this is where the group really comes together.
Karma & Cat & Mouse are both really great (they also each of English Versions of the songs). Close to Me is still worth it as a song & because Fatou! Even Tonight is pretty fun, though the vid is…. Not bad, but some odd choices were made.
You def should check out Fatou’s EP “Pwapf”! Fatou is just generally awesome. She speaks like five languages & I think has at least sang or rapped in Korean, English, French, & Dutch.
Also clarification for the members in Roll Up: Fatou: Senegalese, leader, main rapper 2:04 NVee: 1:57 and 2:25 (same person, she's mixed so her hairs naturally curly) Main vocal, American Sriya: Main dancer, Indian, 2:09 Gabi:Visual, 2:11, Brazilian/German
Thank you for reacting to this mv. I was not into Black Swan in the past but with these new members. I'll be checking out their MV's and I'm adding them to my Spotify playlist. Love this song.
i dont really listen to blackswan much, but im always rooting for them. girls are talented and have been through a lot. plus ill always root for fatou lol. shes been through so much with this group
Omg Ty for reacting to blackswannn! Blackswan isn’t a global group they’re a K-pop group with no East Asian members and yes they had a ton of conflicts with their past lineups but this lineup is the most promising and seems to be the official one that DR is sticking with. Hope this helps. I hope this will be their 1st win. ❤
Blackswan actually has a long history. Black Swan is actually a rebrand of the group Rania/ BP Rania that debuted back in 2011. The group originally was a typical K-pop group with mostly korean members, but became a multinational k-pop girl. Rania is interesting because their first album was produced by Teddy Riley and the Black Swan/Rania was the first k-pop group to debut Thai, African American, African, and Indian members. DR MUSIC girl group has a graduation system where members get added and leave (or graduate) frequently. For Black Swan, the original Korean members and a Brazilian member "graduated" for various reasons, Fatou stayed, and the three members, NVee, Sriya, Gabi was added. This current lineup's first mv was 'Karma' and 'Cat & Mouse' in 2023. The previous lineup released "Tonight" and "Close to Me". If you make reactions to Black Swan, can you also look into the mv releases under Rania and BP Rania as well. "Dr. Feel Good" got banned from Korean TV bc the mv was too sexy 😅. "Just Go" was good too. I also recommend "Demonstrate" and "Start a Fire", though the MV is so cheap looking😢
I wouldn't call BlackSwan a global kpop group. To me, a "global group" is a group trained in the kpop manner, tied to a kpop label, based outside of Korea, and that doesn't sing in Korean at all. BlackSwan lacks Korean members, but it is based in Korea and sings in Korean. And, if you know the history, the group did once have mostly Korean members back when it was known as Rania. Fatou became the second black Kpop idol in history after Alex Reid (who also debuted in Rania before Fatou's time with the group)
Kany (who also choreographed VIVIZ’s Maniac) did the choreo for Roll Up!
She also choreographs for SHINee and Beyonce! not to mention all the other people... shes a legend for sure.
Kany is a legend!
I have always said that Sriya looks like Priyaka, but her visuals in the MV is giving younger sister!!!
