In Finnish language father in poetic or archaic style is for example "TAATTO taivahinen" meaning heavenly father. Vikings were of Finnish origins as well and the DNA-analysis of the King Rurik, his haplotype is most common just in Finland.
The strong influence of vikings also is seen in English: "Dad. Daddy", I would guess. Interestingly in old Akkadian(?) father was TAT . The routes of 10 tribes into Parthia and the Vikings merchant routes might have gone to both directions. Some guess Finnish people could be partly of the lost tribe of Issachar. And there are 14 of 24 hereditary illnesses common to Yews and Finnish people found by osteo archeology. Finnish language is extremely conservative, as a fridge. Hebrew was asleep some thousand years and in Finnish language and in Hebrew are interesting word loans, similarities, as from Sanskrit and Sumerian as well. The story of Babel and the mixing of languages seem to be proved as a historic truth.

Kathleen, I feel your reaction, as me Av or Natural Dad , whom I never learned his name, is from over there. Here along
side of Lake Erie there's plenty of fresh air in a Lawful climate. English-Biblical-
Latin - irish -WELSH- Scott- Norman Case
law should be transferred to these horribly backward committee type areas
where gang rule and hard steel comfort
      stupidity.
On a different note, there is clan McClintock Builder of Excellent Sailboats. Fun in the 50's and 60's , here
in Ashtabula -geneva area I hope to learn
how to sail and safely guard sail from ravages of Lake Erie for 14 ft. of wood
      boat.
Don't feel helpless, you bring very
      much !

    Professor Abramson,
Thank you for your moral courage and willingness to share your personal story. I discovered you while in college taking a course in anthropology of religion and needed a further scholarly source, for my paper. You have brought me no end of pride in my heritage and done so with so much dignity and as much neutrality as to allow so many from such diverse opinions to study along with you-without alienating!
Now, in such trying times and with such a deep personal legacy, you have been able to present coherent and cogent information. I bless G-d for you and ask Hashem to refresh your spirit and that of your family as well.

In the Passover story, the Hebrew people leave Egypt with almost no notice. The unleavened matzo symbolizes the fact that bread didn't even have time to rise. God bless the Jews of Ukraine, who know what it's like. As did their ancestors, they will persevere and overcome hardship.

Thank you, it's good to hear that in your story the Ukrainians come out better than I had always heard/read/surmised from stories about guards
in Nazi concentration camps.Ukraine has one of the higher number of righteous under the gentiles recognized by Yad Vashem (although not per
capita). One thought: you may want to to refer to the Catholic Church as 'Roman Catholic' when you distinguish this organization from the
Orthodox (but not orthodox Jewish) or Byzantine Church: I've been told that Lutherans for example take some offence at 'Catholic' tout court.

Most of that land, pictured in your video was actually Russia prior to 1917. From point of view of Gorbachev head of USSR that’s Ukraine. From point of view any Russian President that’s former Russian territory that was renamed to Ukraine and given political status within confines of USSR. So in essence any non-Russian government in charge of this land should have no other function than as a custodian of it.

Excellent video, Dr. Abramson, and once again your extraordinary personal experiences are acutely relevant, although nothing quite matches your story of the yeshiva student from West Point. I suggest Putin is also channeling Jonas, a Russian bishop, who was installed in Moscow in 1448 as Metropolitan of Kiev, just five years prior to the fall of Constantinople to the Ottomans in 1453. His new theory, which survives in Putin’s mind, sees Moscow as the Third Rome, the legitimate successor to Constantinople, and sees the Patriarch of Moscow as head of all the Russian Church. For centuries, these were the only Eastern Orthodox Christians not under Ottoman control. Both Putin and his ecclesiastical lapdog Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow, were horrified when in 2019 Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew granted autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox church, breaking a spiritual union dating to 988. Putin condemned this, saying that autocephaly was intended to “divide the peoples of Russia and Ukraine.” Last July, not long before he sent 100,000 troops to the Ukrainian border, Putin declared that the two countries’ “spiritual unity” was under attack. Then, just three months ago, Epiphanius I, the head of the freshly minted Orthodox Church of Ukraine, did the unthinkable. He announced a switch for Christmas Day in Ukraine from January 7th to December 25th. This, for Putin, was a step too far.

Dr Abramson, I have concerns that members of my Jewish community are purposefully neglecting the far right and Nazi element in Ukraine. They might be relatively small in number, but they still highly influential in Ukrainian domestic politics, with their leaders holding court with senior foreign dignitaries, let alone forming the backbone of the military.
    Thoughts?

    • @HenryAbramsonPhD
      @HenryAbramsonPhD  2 года назад +23

Dennis, this sounds like a typical Russian talking point. I have no doubt that after the war is over the small number of extremists will be dealt with ("backbone of the military" is absurd). For now, we are dealing with actual, documented war crimes committed by Russian forces against Ukrainian civilians. That's what needs our attention right now. Murders, rapes, torture. Please read reputable news sites.

While this is a genuine concern, these people are not only the Azov Battalion. There are neonazi elements in other parts of the region - including Russia + probably in the Russian military - as well as in neighboring countries - as well in the US.
Yes we are supplying them with weapons, we supply good people + bad with weapons across the globe.
These are good debates to have during non-emergencies.
Right now let's focus on the larger crisis, humanitarian efforts, war crimes, refugees + the potential for nuclear atrocities.

The actual fact is that Muslims, under umar bin al khattab, invaded Jerusalem. Arabs invaded the whole of the Middle East and eradicated well established civilisations like the Assyrian, Phoenician, Greek, Zoroastrian, Amazeeghs and so on and forced them into Islam. You should revise your history before making false statements.

mr. Abramson, I am shocked by you.
I even gave you thumb down - so much I cannot believe what happened to you.
Did they come to you? did they pay you for this videao?
what happened to the historian person within you that caused you to spew out all the propaganda of the globalist and the collective West instead of reserching and studiying for yourself?
I have watched your videos for the last 4 years and was very impressed by your integrity - what this video shows is so different from all the others that I watched (dozens actually) that it must show that this is not you, at least not the you that was revealed untill now.
Like you I was also horrified by the footages and pictures of the ukranian refugees, however that did not cause me to lose connection to reality, so your introduction to this video cannot be an eccuse.
I hope that you soon return to the serious historian that you used to be.
