so nice to see these old videos. when i was 9-10 and my sister used to play her nee album by a band called Coldplay. they were, are, and always will be one of my favourites band ever! if you don't like the new sound, just came back here and watch these videos and you would be able to like the new sound. it's not about 'pop' or 'mainstream', it's about 4(5) guys doing music for the same reason they choose to play together back then in the 90's
Im telling you, ive seen Coldplay twice. And nothing compares to the raw emotion and amazingness of the end of Fix You, when its just the piano and the crowd singing at the top of their lungs. Its an amazing spectacle. Honestly, when i saw them i started tearing up simply due to the fact that the light up bracelets started going, and its because Coldplay holds such emotion for me that the simple prospect of them about to be right there in front of me is...... overwhelming.
Saying that I love them is reductive ... their music ... Chris's voice is my breath and they are the nature around me !!! Their purity is disarming. Thanks for this video! Thank you!
Well I just love both Coldplay and U2 just as much. And I'm 15. I don't really bother about deciding who is best because they've both brought so much happiness into my life. Cheesy, but true :)
The interview is like a live performance. Coldplay is blessed with inspirative lyrics and can be composed well by the members of the band. Congratulation.
This was awesome.....what happened to the guitars and simplicity that was genius? In my opinion they really need to watch this and think long and hard about the next album.
On one hand its a bit of a shame that Chris doesn't have that voice anymore, on the other hand I would love some darker songs with his being deeper and more rough in the future. Edit: Yes, we're definitely say "we loved that band" when our grandchildren find the records in 2060.
I dont think U2 have more iconic songs. Fix You is like the song of grieving and sadness, its always used (especially on TV) when they are speaking of great loss and devastation. Honestly i have heard nothing of U2 since i saw Coldplay in 2009 and they played one of their songs. But Coldplay continue to sell out shows and be all over the news when they do so, they continue to be booked on the top talk shows yet we hear none of U2. U2 have died out but Coldplay's flame has kept burning bright :)
I was talking about U2 the other day to some of my friends (they're all ca. 16) and almost none of them knew who I was talking about which is sad. Coldplay's more relevant right now and I guess also more appealing to young people for some reason and U2 isn't, but both are awesome either way, so.
Now I'm gonna be 16, and none of my friends know U2 (except one) and my friends just know the well-known Coldplay songs. But I love both band, they are amazing❤
for what it's worth, U2 and Coldplay share a similar producer (Brian Eno) so that just MIGHT have something to do with them sounding similar. personally i think the only U2 song that could ever pass as a song coldplay is beautiful day. besides that, i don't really compare them.
But to be perfectly honest Kings Of leon could never even compare to The Beatles. But Coldplay and U2 are pretty even footing in terms of success in their times. But Coldplay is still going strong and U2 isnt really. And with Coldplay it isnt always about the lyrical content, i find my favourite thing about them is the epicness of their music and how just playing a few notes of one of their songs can make people feel so much.
Ahem... U2 360 = highest grossing tour of all time by a long shot... The last time U2 released an album was in 2009 while Coldplay released one just last year in 2012 hence why it may seem Coldplay is more relevant. I'm definitely a Coldplay fan but if you honestly believe that U2 don't have more iconic songs than coldplay, you are seriously deluding yourself.
True, they haven't changed... All the things they say, they're just... If they knew what they would've become! :') But they truly made it, they rule the world! Not only they can be compared to U2, they're greater than them by now! Guys, you can be sure that tons children will see your albums among their parents' ones. Should I ever have kids, the 99,99% of them will be by you.

all i know is that right now i am completely and absolutely in love with Coldplay and all their music
Im telling you, ive seen Coldplay twice. And nothing compares to the raw emotion and amazingness of the end of Fix You, when its just the piano and the crowd singing at the top of their lungs. Cheesy, but true :)
my kids will grow up hearing nothing but Coldplay.
I don't even think Coldplay would advise that lol
Isn't that a bit harsh to them, like... You'd want them to develop their own likes and dislikes in music
Awww they were all such dorks 😍 Chris was such a geek. Haha. Shy and adorable guys.
🏆COLDPLAY💕💋 OUTSTANDING BAND! AMAZING LYRICISTS!🌠 MESMERIC SUPER STARS! THANK YOU, 💕😇🌹🍀
The interview is like a live performance. Coldplay is blessed with inspirative lyrics and can be composed well by the members of the band. Congratulation.
This year marks 20 years since Parachutes came out.
Dang Chris really showed his accent back then, too bad it's gradually disappearing over the years with his voice getting darker & heavier
This was awesome.....what happened to the guitars and simplicity that was genius? In my opinion they really need to watch this and think long and hard about the next album.
💯 Witt you here

Holy shit! I want that piano!
It's a CP 70 electric piano. Beautiful sound
this guy is my love!
This is awesome
Chris are the 1960-70s singer 💪
9:26 we will surely do that Chris
OMG HAHA I CRIED.
I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
In pretty sure the orange globe at the end was the real one that was used on the album cover. I wonder where that's stored away now?
They sold the original globe used in the Parachutes era on ebay for almost 13k.
Around 2008 or so they auctioned it to fans for charity. So, I'm sure whoever haves it is keeping in a safe place haha. :)

xThePinkApple my friends didn't know about both u2 and coldplay and I LOVE both bands so I forced them to get to know them😉
Now I'm gonna be 16, and none of my friends know U2 (except one) and my friends just know the well-known Coldplay songs. But I love both band, they are amazing❤
Who tf doesn’t know who you are
I have their records and will definitely be showing my future children

And now they sing next to Ariana Grande and Beyonce... sad.
He IS tasty ,not the mushrooms 😍😍😍😍
they haven't changed
they were trying to make strong songs... compare this kind of "strong" songs with lovers in japan or dont let it break your heart
its the piano Keane uses!!
Except for Creed :)
@Tamara James
Weird for a vegetarian to use that bacon and eggs example.
Was he a veggie back then?
He wasn't a vegetarian then
Did Gwynnie turn him?
Wendy Ransome I'm sure Gwen did. That Bi... I mean beast.
+Micheal Farted lol
well i don't think that's very true :P teens are actually listening to Coldplay's music, not U2's music :/
