Nice plant! I got one by accident in a bunch of grassy plants. It just started growing well after about a week or so. Great tank. Thanks for the video

The bulb will die if it is put under the gravel. It needs to be around half way through the gravel

For those with large tanks and want something that can fill the space..Tiger lotus in groups can do that. Plus they come in various colors and look great mixed.

Hey how are you? I just bought a Tiger lotus lily and I was wondering did you not bury the roots and bulb underneath the substrate when you first got it and only put the roots in the substrate during this video and if so how long did you have it for before you done this? Thanks

How long does it take for the bulb to sprout a leaf?

can I grow it in gravel or does it need special ground mixture?

MissHellfire 1606 I’m pretty sure if you have a bulb you just drop it in the tank and it’ll grow, no special substrate is needed

Yes they grow some giant roots. Works better in gravel than sand imo

on my experience you need to let it have floating leaves. My under water have not propagate. The ones that I let grow to the top just give me 4 runners.

So how do you get it to have floating leaves? What I have noticed from my lotus is when the light intensity is lower the leaves tend to grow taller, but I do not know if that is the right way of getting it to make floating leaves because with low lights all its leaves tend to towards the surface.

@@fikerbekele7303 They are water lilies..they make pads. All do. Its just that this one is MUCH better than any other at making submerged leaves also. Pruning the pads with cause it to make more underwater foliage. But,I've seen tanks with plants that did it all...foliage,pads..and even a flower. Those tanks are strongly lit.
