I'm living in the USA. A lot of Igbos worship with Reedem Church. All the common worshipers are Igbos, while their leaders in that church are yorubas. God will always raise prophets from your own people. The first pentecostal in Nigeria raises great men, starting in Igbo land assemblies of God.
My cousin used to be a Redeem Pastor in Lagos. I was with him on the Sunday that he told me that he was leaving the church. I asked him why and he told me that each time he built a church from the scratch, they would end up transferring him to another remote church so that he can also help build that one as an Igbo man. The funny thing is that they would always hand over the ones he has built to Yorubas so that they would always be the ones to reap whatever benefit that would come out of the church. I'm living in the USA. A lot of Igbos worship with Reedem Church. All the common worshipers are Igbos, while their leaders in that church are yorubas. God will always raise prophets from your own people. The first pentecostal in Nigeria raises great men, starting in Igbo land assemblies of God.

My cousin used to be a Redeem Pastor in Lagos. I was with him on the Sunday that he told me that he was leaving the church. I asked him why and he told me that each time he built a church from the scratch, they would end up transferring him to another remote church so that he can also help build that one as an Igbo man. The funny thing is that they would always hand over the ones he has built to Yorubas so that they would always be the ones to reap whatever benefit that would come out of the church. The crazy thing about it is that majority of Redeem members and the major big donors there are Igbos. My cousin has opened his own church now and he is doing very well.

I was in a Sunday School session when one woman stood up and with the microphone she told the entire church that she had made it clear to her 2 daughters that none of them should marry an Igbo man.
I felt so UNBELONGED. Anyways I called 2 grounded pastors on the phone and pointed it out to them.

Those who are lucky to be made pastors in those churches are posted to where they will not be able to feed their families and are given such working conditions of service by their G.Os that they cannot flourish.
I pity them who left Roman Catholic church, Anglican Church, Methodist church, Baptist church, Presbyterian Church etc and joined the so-called Pentecostal Churches that trade on prophecies, prosperity, miracle, healings signs and wonders. I am a pastor in the United States. My first hand experience is that Nd'Igbo don't know how to embrace and support their own. They rather build up others even where they are not welcomed. Other Nigerian ethnic groups have known us very well and they exploit the Igbo liberalism. Equally, Nd'Igbo don't know how to queue up behind one man. Every one wants to be seen. We need to change our ways. Tribalism is well and alive in the church.
Their mumu never do. Don't forget some of the so called pastorprenures use juju to trap some of their worshippers!! Just pray that God will open their eyes.

Thank God I was born and raised a Presbyterian and it is predominantly an Igbo church . Any part of Nigeria you find Presby , you must see Ohafia, Abam ,Abiriba , Alayi , Ututu, Arochukwu mostly Abia people and Akwa Ibom and Calabar people mainly there . Let me remain in my fold .
