Nope, that's not correct.
It is pretty difficult to spike right on the line even in pro teams, so it is better to defend half meter from the line. Having a foot out just make things more disadvantegous than being half meter from the line.
For those saying that ball hit his foot, look closely at the spin of the ball after it bounces. There is no change from the topspin of the ball meaning that the ball didnt change course from once it was hit. It might have been close but the ball didn’t hit Nishida’s foot.

This is true. This is what roger federer expalined in one of his games where rhe umpire didnt see that the ball bounced twice already. And roger said something about the movement of the ball (topspin).
