Traps often get sore when it is stretched out too much due to your neck and shoulder going forward. So you need to target those muscles that bring your neck and shoulders like pec SCM and even Rotator cuffs in order to fix the problem permenantly.

After a week the hump is gone but I'm left with trap pain that's horrendous. I can feel it creep up to tense up. Can't wait to try these exercises. It is extremely hard to extend my head back or up. I have till January till I see a Dr and I hope I can heal lots and be ready for my neck surgery.

My question is: Will this put me at a risk of an injury or can I push through with my workout (mainly pull ups) and just stretch out, massage in between workouts. Correcting my posture and strengthening scapular muscles at the same time. Or should I rather just ditch working out all together and just focus on correcting my posture (I would very much like to not do that.) Thank you anyone for answering.

I’m definitely going to buy a Thermotex unit as I have had aching and burning in that area for 1.5 yrs now. Have seen all kinds of specialists, a PT, had lots of expensive imaging done, and 2 steroid shots in the thoracic spine. No one has said anything about the trap causing it. Since car accident in 2018 ; when I lay on my back ( left trap & side of chest under arms ) I get a numbing/achy/slight burning feeling that gets relieved by stretching and of course getting off that muscle. This gets triggered when I put pressure on to it. Lately rarely does it just ache or give me the tiniest feeling that it’s super sensitive to the touch. Don’t know if it’s getting better with another years time. But I’ll try these exercises, the two PT’s and MRI’s I’ve had done has not given me my life back and my patience is starting to wear out. 😣 #mentallytired

Posture super important. Also strengthening. I got a pair of 10-pound weights, and just holding them out in front (or sides like T position) you realize how quickly that ur traps are weak (specially for my left side, right side compensates)

I have a lot of problems with my thoracic it burns like fire. Also I have spondylolisthesis 2 level. So I don't know if I should do something like that having spondylolisthesis but I do know about keeping your posture of your body up and in straight position in your head, sometimes it just radiates pain back and forth. Please tell me any suggestions from the both of them. Thank you guys!

This thermotex is very expensive!, is there any affordable alternative?

Tennis ball. It helped me, but I don't know if we can call this as an alternative. Just massage

How are you supposed to sleep with a pain like this? 😭 I think I injured by left trap doing something in the gym, it's been a week and I thought it was getting better but it's bad again. My neck hurts so bad! Should I sleep on the other side even if I feel it stretch the injury weirdly, on top of the injured side, maybe on my back?

Sucks is about every year I go through a month of so of just back pain that seems I need to adjust my chair. I do then its all out of whack. I figure is something else. Trying the posture thing though.

Your link for the thermotex below your video does not show any unit that is worn like a back pack as the one is in the video. Did you somehow modify the thermotex or can you clarify which one to purchase?

You can still do it up and down the wall. Or back and forth. Holding onto a chair use it on the bottom of you foot.
