- Surrounding Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is Selangor - the most populous and wealthiest state in the country. Having visited almost every state, I realized I had never been to Selangor before and hadn't heard of any attractions there. So, it was time to explore, starting with the former capital of the Sultanate - Kuala Selangor, which was once under British and Dutch control.
On the way to this small town, I took a boat into the Malacca Strait to experience Sky Mirror - a strip of sand in the sea that emerges only during low tide. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! In Kuala Selangor, I explored Bukit Malawati (Malawati Hill), its colonial architecture, and hipster cafes. I also tried eagle feeding and firefly watching, which have been very popular here since the 1980s!
The following day, I decided to head north to Sekinchan, whose Paddy Fields have the highest rice production in all of Malaysia. Don’t forget to try its seafood and make a wish at the Wishing Tree!

Congrats! Your wish for 200 views has come true. 😊
Haha, the power of the Wishing Tree 😎
i think your information about Malaysia rice production is wrong.. the biggest rice producer is Kedah state up north.. not Selangor..
Thank you for correction and information, good to know 🙏 Had to research on it more.
Yes it is still Kedah, contributes 70% of the country’s rice production.
@@SoAndrew
You are also wrong about rice exports.
Malaysia has always imported 70% of its rice since independence
Your sky mirror picture is perfect shot

This place more popular for local. How do you know this place or you have a friends from here..but nowdays people just google to search for any information..
I live in Singapore and explore Malaysia quite often. So I do a lot of research before I travel, to explore as much as possible. That's how I knew about the place :)
@@SoAndrew ok.understood. 😊enjoy u"r moment.
Kuala Selangor town is scattered not just the small area that you visited. If you have drone you can see that there are areas near the Kuala Selangor District Mosque and another one on the other side of the river. You can actually use you bicycle to explore. Next time come back again here and explore more..
@@zainonkadir You're right. It's quite spread out...
State of Selangor has its charm and natures that many have yet to explore. Especially international tourists and even our neighbours. There's much to do and eat in the rural areas of Selangor!😊
Yes, the state is HUGE. Many reasons to come back soon 😌
As a Msian i hvnt known abt this place😊
Hahaha, now you know, that's we need RUclips, right 😂
Yes.... definitely....it should be known as eagle seeing...not eagle feeding....😊
😊👌
The museum should not kick out visitors at malawati Hill. Just rotate the work shift. No one kicks out visitors in a museum during lunch time.
It seems like it was a shortage of stuff that day. Google and reviews doesn’t mention any lunch break. I guess I was just a bit unlucky that day 😅
Welcome to my kampung
Thank you for your hospitality, wonderful people there!
Too bad you had a bad weather at the sky mirror.,...it would have been much better on a sunny day...
Probably. Cloudy day was also good, as the color of the sea and the sky looked the same, removing the horizon line completely 😄
Silver leaf monkeys not long tail macaque.
Good to know!I was told there are 2 breeds of monkeys on the hill. Anyway, I’m not a monkey expert 😂
@@SoAndrew long tailed macaque is the gangsta monkey 😅
Hi Andrew,
1. which travel agent that you booked for your sky mirror 🪞 tour?
2. How did you get around Sekinchan? Did you use grab to move around?
Hi Sahiful,
1. I went with "Sky Mirror Fun Life" agency, they seem to be the best there, based on the rating and price;
2. By own car. I guess Grab situation is not good in that paddy field area since it's so spread out, so it might be troublesome to get around there without own car...
