- Arsenal Women's head coach Jonas Eidevall defended his midfielder Kyra Cooney-Cross after she sparked a row by wearing a Tottenham scarf before Spurs played Manchester United in the Women's FA Cup Final.
The Australian was pictured on social media with a Spurs scarf on her shoulder before kick-off, apparently as a show of support for compatriot and Spurs defender Charlotte Grant.
Spurs lost 4-0 to United, but that didn't end the drama with pundits like former Sunderland star Michael Bridges calling the sight of an Arsenal player supporting its London rivals a "PR nightmare" for the club.
On Thursday, Edvall blamed the incident on youthful, saying the 22-year-old "will learn and we move on from the situation."
Edvall praised the hiring of Australian head coach Emma Hayes by the United States while Arsenal and Matildas defender Steph Catley said she was looking forward to the challenge of facing the new American boss at the Paris Olympics.
Australia and the United States have been drawn together in Group B of the Olympic women's tournament and will face each other on July 31st in Marseille.

In football a rival is a rival even for best friends. You can be best friends outside the pitch when there's no football involved

@@Arsenal_LionessEditz there's a difference between being a good friend and sticking to your club rules outside the pitch. She could have just gone to the game to support but putting on a spurs scarf while on a contract with arsenal is breaking the rule.
