JAYSEF OF ARAMATHEA! I was in graduate school with him at UTEP. In fact, we were even roommates for several months. This isn't my real name but happy to see my colleague. Jay is one of the greats! Cheers!
Great presentation. @11:30 have you ever considered impact ejetca? Ejecta could also be responsible for the "arc" system that lines the west coast of NOAM & SOAM Plates? I have been asking if Geologists & Geophysicists study Planetary Collision Dynamics? No one seems to have an answer? Impact-phase Comets atomize their chemical-elements and then can smash into Earth's atmosphere, crust & lithosphere at Mach > 30. This energy transfer would crack, vaporize & melt crust. Newton, Thermodynamics, Magnetohydrodynamics, & Supersonic Fluid Turbulent Cross-flow would apply to comet impacts. Physics. 🖖🤔♻
"We don't have any direct information" That quote refers to the subducted Farallon plate's structure. It is also utterly wrong. The presenter needs to seriously take a look at the work of Sigloch et al. Seismic tomography provides direct evidence for the structure of subducted plate slabs including those of the Farallon plate. So theoretical plate reconstructions are far from the only tools available for this work.
Earth's Magnetic Polar Directional Orientation is intrinsically connected to, & directly correlated with the Directional Orientation of Earth's Axial Rotation. When the Rotation reverses, the kinetic forces generated are responsible for the creation of separate plates & is the causal factor dictating their behavior. The behavior of the world's oceans, the Pacific, in specific, is what explains both, the Caribbean & Scotia plates.
What is the name of his paper he published. I would love to read entire publication. He really has peaked my interest. I know that when Siletzia accretion against the North American plate everything went crazy 51-49 ma??? or that's what other papers are showing. I would be interested in reading his paper. Thank you for your information. This is a good group and I appreciate that you're still doing the speakers and putting them on RUclips so I can watch them. Really enjoyed this and would love to know what was really going on with the Tetons during the 51 million years ago to 45 million years ago.
Just have an amateur knowledge in geology, found this very interesting. Explains a lot of sites and mountains I have seen all through the west.
Should get rid of speakers window so other parts are bigger

Well done guys. Thanks for this!
Our pleasure!
great presentation!
This looks interesting, thx.

The North American Cordilleran Anatectic Belt. I found it on the Presenter's website.
How does sea water entering with subduction of the slab, affect the composition of deep rock? Could it be strong enough to cause uplift?
Water lowers melting point of rocks
Nevada is pronounced just like you spell it, Nev-AD-a, not Nev-ODD-a. It has been so since 1864.
If it happens, God ordered it because we deserve it. Biden will then say he ordered it to do it. My Belief
Well - there is HAARP. So we can’t rule out that he isn’t aware not its origins.
