Mayhem just got better with age and have matured by a fucking lot musically speaking, and Chimera does a great way to showcase it. It also happens to be their best album.
@@CerealKiller5150 On the Chimera's booklet you see the huge kit he used to record the album with. Basically he had two snares and on one he kept blasting, on the other he played another beat with the cymbal. Sounded like two guys, two drums. A genius.
i wish more black metal bands would lean death metal like this. would be an easy way to make good music that isn't born to appeal to the slavechildren of today

GDOW is their greatest effort, in my opinion. Mayhem were at their peak with Blasphemer and Maniac. But every record is unique and fantastic.

Man the whole album is pure perfection but this song is from another dimension.
For me that’s you must fall.. I hear that song and I can just imagine a storm the size of earth raging at 500 mph destroying everything in its path !
