Ok it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't the worst. She is an exceptionally beautiful woman, and her vibe is nice. I am not sure why the drama. Now - this is a conversation between you and I and if your subscribers read it of course that is fine, but this is not directed to any of them. I want to make that point. So, years ago I would be very critical of certain contestants and would be less than kind. I would actually be a total witch. I have learned that everything you write or utter stays in the universe. Contestants read these comments and I wasn't really sure of that. Once that fact came to light, I keep my opinions to myself in my own head. I am not an expert NOR am I running around in high heels or a gown or answering questions in front of millions of people. Who am I TO JUDGE? Pageants bring me joy and as such I follow you Summer because you are NEVER unkind. There are ways of getting your opinions across without hurting someone's feelings. I think you were great with Herlene and I believe she is still a front runner, right? Regardless I hope the poor girl is ok and moves on and all of this dies down. My dearest Joseph , I hope all is well back there in the US of A. As for me, I’m exhausted as that was my third time this week either covering or judging a pageant. If you have noticed I didn’t post anything on any of my socmed accounts regarding this as I felt bad for her. She did apologise to me afterwards and her manager Wilbert & Camp Tito Rodgil did explain the possible reasons why she ended up messing up the question. Apparently, she was constantly working and utterly exhausted. She has a great team behind her but it is what it is. For me, she is winning! She has a new film coming out and it's going to be a big hit believe me. Regarding the interview, you are not going to change her. She's in the wrong lane and this is how she deals with stressful situations. The truth is, I still admire this young lady for her strength and courage. She’s in the vipers' pit, the pageant is a beauty tribal warfare, and the fact that she can handle all these is utterly impressive. I wish Miss Budol all the best. I’m sorry about my question, it wasn’t perfect either. Maybe I was as nervous as her. But one thing is for sure, tomorrow is another day! Thank you very much my Dear Summer Smith for translating Herlene's Tagalog words because as you know my Filipino sucks a lot hence it was easier for me to understand what Herlene was trying to say here, you know that i'm still training my ears/brain to listen and understand Tagalog words correctly but so far has been a little hard for me, anyway this was such a good question coming from you because we undeniably can see that Herlene needs to practice more not only her English but her posture and the way she construct her answers. I really hope that Herlene can train more her communication skills and i know she can do so 'cause she's certainly is a big fighter, love to take challenges hence she doesn't give up very easily till she achieve each of her goals. Harlene needs to develop confidence in answering question. She has to practice a lot thinking critically. I will encourage her to really learn English esp. “English Accent”. It s important for International Pageant. Also, she has to avoid making jokes during QA and learn to act elegantly not being funny during the Pageant. Learn to talk and act like an intelligent person.

Love herlene simplicity and fun loving personality but yesterday glad to know that she finally realised that she need to redirect and work hard in Miss Grand Philippine competition as she couldn’t answer your question well. She is tired of her television/film industry work, she didn’t prepare well in communication skills and she thought will win audience heart by giving some drama which some MGI contestants does but yesterday she learnt that she have to work hard more in coming days with focus only on this pageant as double work’s doesn’t give fruitful results. for me harlene was a great example of someone who can't try to speak either basic english and i thought miss harlene's deserves to speak up to make this competiton even if she's try a lot of things to learn and give example to others ..❤
Too comfortable or overconfident? There are also other Misses Philippines from masses like Venus Raj and Janicel Lubina to name a few but they have so much CLASS. I have watched several provincial pageants and they don't answer and act like that and here you are joining a national pageant wanting to represent a powerhouse country.
She learnt a very valuable lesson and yesterday that there is a difference between a beauty pageant and game show. I expect to see her focus on things going forward. She is such a lovely girl though and I had a nice chat with her after the event finished.

Para sa akin opinion Ms. Summers, sablay si Ms. Herlene sa naging q&a nya sa tanong mo. Hindi sa lahat sitwasyon at pagkakataon eh dapat niyang ipakita ang pagiging kumedyante nya. Kung talagang pursigido sya na manalo sa MGPH dapat umasta at sumagot sya bilang isang beauty queen. Nawa'y maging fair ang mga magiging hurado sa pagpili ng mga mananalo.

Sumali sya sa pageant pero yung basic po na main advocacy ng MGI hindi nya alam. Sa audience pa nya tinanong kung ano. I do love and admire the transformation of Herlene Nicole Budol but let's get things straight, Herlene Budol indeed has the perfect body and Gorgeous face that Mr. Nawat look for the most in a girl, besides she has the experience that she acquired during her Binibining 1st Runner up days so she knows very well how to walk and how to perform on any stage, she is a challenger so she's used to fight hard to achieve what she really want for her life but i realized that she now devolved when it comes to her q&a skills. Herlene last year had an amazing heartfelt speech when she delivered her answer in the Binibining Pilipinas stage even though she used the Tagalog Language to communicate her thoughts but nowadays she sound very rehearsed and not relatable whatsoever, excuse if my opinion sound a little harsh but Reality cannot be hidden, she need to learn to overcome all of her fears, insecurities and take control over her emotions because this attitude might be perceived as cocky or very selfish by pretty much everybody. Herlene's MGI journey is reminding me to the one from Celeste Cortesi who was such a beautiful sexy bomb but lacked of substance and approachability, if Herlene want to win this pageant even if they decide she is the perfect to represent The Philippines at the International contest she would need to learn not only The English Language but also develop poise, charm and charisma while expressing her thoughts and opinions in front of a large audience. In conclusion I think that Herlene of course has a big heart but she needs to show more humbleness in front of the Cameras and acknowledge that for a Beauty Queen there should always be room for improvement, if she refuses to do so then she'd sadly fail to achieve her dreams/life goals. Anyhow i still wish her the best of the best in her MGI journey, May God bless and help her along the way🙇♂️❤
She may not have expressed her thoughts eloquently, but I understood the point she was trying to make. Someone like Miss Budol can actually make difference as a representative because she speaks from the heart and others can relate to her.

The worst Q&A I've ever seen. It's a pity.. she may not be intelligent to answer question but the very worst thing was the manners. Very shameful.u can always ask the judge to repeat the question but the manner was very bad, very rude. So shameful. Needs to be trained more. 😊😊
Thanks for commenting. Herlene came up to me afterwards and was very apologetic. I think she struggled to understand first time but I think she has learnt a very valuable lesson from the experience. She is a very sweet girl really

If you really listen to her. It's really has a deep meaning and good wisdom her answers. She really deserved to be Crown. Not necessarily to be perfect but at least she is at herself and that's what made her stand out and unforgettable Candidate.
Fluency in speaking English requires a lot of effort if it is a language that you seldom use in everyday conversations. Herlene has lots of commitments and I doubt if she has the time to improve her proficiency in English. Some of our countrymen prefer that she speak it and avoid using an interpreter. That would be impressive but might be too demanding for her.

She learnt a very valuable lesson and yesterday that there is a difference between a beauty pageant and game show. I expect to see her focus on things going forward. She is such a lovely girl though and I had a nice chat with her after the event finished.

Sumali sya sa pageant pero yung basic po na main advocacy ng MGI hindi nya alam. Sa audience pa nya tinanong kung ano.
Dapat po kung lalaban sya sa isang laban dapat well prepared sya totally sa lahat ng aspeto. Hindi nya pwede sabihin na puyat sya, pagod sya dahil marami siyang ganap sa tv at teleserye nya.

I do love and admire the transformation of Herlene Nicole Budol but let's get things straight, Herlene Budol indeed has the perfect body and Gorgeous face that Mr. Nawat look for the most in a girl, besides she has the experience that she acquired during her Binibining 1st Runner up days so she knows very well how to walk and how to perform on any stage, she is a challenger so she's used to fight hard to achieve what she really want for her life but i realized that she now devolved when it comes to her q&a skills. Herlene last year had an amazing heartfelt speech when she delivered her answer in the Binibining Pilipinas stage even though she used the Tagalog Language to communicate her thoughts but nowadays she sound very rehearsed and not relatable whatsoever, excuse if my opinion sound a little harsh but Reality cannot be hidden, she need to learn to overcome all of her fears, insecurities and take control over her emotions because this attitude might be perceived as cocky or very selfish by pretty much everybody. Herlene's MGI journey is reminding me to the one from Celeste Cortesi who was such a beautiful sexy bomb but lacked of substance and approachability, if Herlene want to win this pageant even if they decide she is the perfect to represent The Philippines at the International contest she would need to learn not only The English Language but also develop poise, charm and charisma while expressing her thoughts and opinions in front of a large audience. In conclusion I think that Herlene of course has a big heart but she needs to show more humbleness in front of the Cameras and acknowledge that for a Beauty Queen there should always be room for improvement, if she refuses to do so then she'd sadly fail to achieve her dreams/life goals. Anyhow i still wish her the best of the best in her MGI journey, May God bless and help her along the way🙇♂️❤

Dapat i train pa si Herlen to separate comedy sa beauty pageant. Ang ganda niya pero need more practice sa pagsagot. Kahit hindi na siya mag English yung ma deliver lang niya ng tama at me respeto sa sinalihan nya. Philippines is known for super duper sa QnA. Kaya she needs to try harder and practice!
At sana yung mga judges kapag nagtanong sa tagalog nalang din kapag alam nilang di talaga nakakaintindi yung kausap.

The worst Q&A I've ever seen. It's a pity.. she may not be intelligent to answer question but the very worst thing was the manners. Very shameful.u can always ask the judge to repeat the question but the manner was very bad, very rude. So shameful. Needs to be trained more. 😊😊
Thanks for commenting. Herlene came up to me afterwards and was very apologetic. I think she struggled to understand first time but I think she has learnt a very valuable lesson from the experience. She is a very sweet girl really

Fluency in speaking English requires a lot of effort if it is a language that you seldom use in everyday conversations. Herlene has lots of commitments and I doubt if she has the time to improve her proficiency in English. Some of our countrymen prefer that she speak it and avoid using an interpreter. That would be impressive but might be too demanding for her.
