The track was to promote the tour. So personally I think it’s basically her saying “I’m ready for it, let’s go”! The designers are those she has used for previous tours as were some of the outfits in the video
I think its a 'diva' song. About looking great, feeling confident and owning the room So that's why she's playing all those strong art/entertainment industry women in the video: an actress, a director, a photographer, a model...
No matter what Kylie does, its always catchy and fun. Ofc, this is coming from a fan of hers of over the past 25 years, but still... Shes just fabulous and iconic.
I saw an interview where she just said that the song is a fun way to announce her world tour as it encapsulates that feeling of getting a show ready. The video has visual references to previous tours. So i think it's just a bit of fun to go with the tour announcement.
I thought The song is pretty much about her doing her job I think. She's just a normal everyday person, but once she puts her 'armour' on, and the camera rolls... She steps into the roll of the Kylie that the world gets to see. So lyrics like 'im two seconds away I'm right around the corner now' makes me think of her walking to the stage at one of her concerts, while her crowd are going wild. If you are wanting some Kylie songs that are more personal. I can recommend her beautiful single 'flower' and for the grittier more personal side, then limbo or too far which are very dark indeed. 💙
Kylie has only done 2 “confessional” albums. First being Impossible Princess back in the 90s. She put her angsty feelings from her late 20s into that one but no one was interested in what she had to say. Since then she went back to bops which sold well and what people expected of her. Her second was the “country” album. This album was a cathartic documentation of her last relationship giving a lot more reflection on her life, age, and longing and healing. This Tension 2 is basically leftover Tension tracks and songs that came through in that era which she’s slapping on an album just to give them official life. In the past she’s lost out on a lot of leaks so now she’s putting it all out there.
The song was released alongside her tour announcement and I think it simply is about her upcoming Tension Tour (or maybe her shows in general). I think her spinning the cube is kind of expressing her impatience for some action. "I'm two second away, I'm right around the corner now I'm two seconds away, hold tight, I'm about to arrive" The stage is all hers and it is where she shines and gives everything to her audience. "And this place is the space where I let it go" If you look at where she points to on the map at this point, it is approximately where Las Vegas is, which is where she just finished her residency earlier this year, and from there she moves the pointer to Australia, the first stop of her Tension Tour. Indeed, Kylie has been expressing her eagerness to be on the road again since forever, she also said it was so hard to keep the tour under wrap when she talked about it on radio. "And I hate to be waiting, so hold the door" And she is ready to go! "I got shades on my face and I'm looking like Lagerfeld's in Vogue Here I go" She just misses the noise from the audience who can't help but dance to her music. "Tuning in, tuning out, all I want is the noise Turn it up, turn it loud, till you ain't got a choice" And she promises us a "sinful" night that goes off and she just can't wait to see our reactions! "We're turning sinful tonight it's about to go off Tell me, can you feel it?" With the lights set up and cameras ready, it's showtime (ACTION!)! And of course, she is going to look stellar as always in her designer dresses (aka her "armour") "I look stellar tonight my armour is by Gaultier" It's going to be "one hell of a ride" where she expects her audience to be ready to immerse in the experience "Make sure you know you wanna play" At the end of the video, she is reminding us that the tour will start in Australia and Showgirl Kylie is just soooooooo ready to be in action! Lights, camera, action. That's it!
Georgina, you look lovely! It makes the world of a difference when someone’s style is in the hands of professionals and one is all made up like that. ALSO, one’s confidence builds up incrementally, so bit by bit you can improve yourself, and at some point you’ll see how far you’ve come in terms of looks. Don’t beat yourself up unnecessarily ❤
I heard someone say this is about being the perfectionist artist singer director actor. She is even the photographer, in a world where fashion is her armour. Escapist fantasy world of movies and showbiz glamour. She has to take charge, she feels the pressure, she has to be determined and can’t let anyone get in the way of her vision… all the behind the scenes shows all the work that goes into this end product :)
Lyrics are the opener for her tour. So basically she’s saying she’s looking hot and she’s ready to perform. The video shows her being both the performer and director, implying her creative control. At the beginning she uses the cane to point to Australia, where her tour launches. She’ll likely open the show with the song. The brand names she drops are likely who’s designing her outfits (as she always has designers for her show).
0:40 it’s so funny because you’re reacting to Kylie Minogue who grew up in the era of long songs. All of her albums post 2020 have been smaller and smaller
The song is a reference to her about to start the tour. Lights, Camera, Action. I'm 2 second away I'm right around the corner now. Refers to her arriving in Australia soon. As she points to the map.. She then sings. I'm 2 second away hold tight I'm about to arrive. The tour is about to start. This space is the space I let it go. Refers to the stage. It's about to go off tell me can you feel it. Refers to the audience. I look stellar tonight my armour is Guiltier is a reference to her stage costumes. As you see the backing dancers walking around in Aphrodite costumes and a huge stage in the backdrop..
I think the video and song is about her preparing for her recently announced upcoming world tour, with behind the scenes shots referencing its creation in progress, the map showing some places she intends to go (like Australia), references to past tours like the Aphrodite soldiers and the feathered head pieces from Showgirl, and mentioning of luxury clothing brands she always wears on her tours. "I'm two seconds away, I'm right around the corner now" "'Cause this place is the space where I let it go, and I hate to be be waiting so hold the door" Also, the makeup scene with her hair in curlers looks similar to the scene from her "If You Were With Me Now" video, with curly hair, scaffolding in the background, and dirt on the ground. As for her vocals, I've noticed since her 2018 Golden album and onwards, that her voice has a lot more nasality to it than normal. I assume its due to her age as all our vocals change as we get older. As a big fan of hers, depending on how she sings or records a song these days, her vocals can either be awesome/beautiful, or slightly off-putting/irritating. I wonder if that's why a lotta her songs from her last few albums seem to have a lot more vocal layering and/or digital effects, such as Say Something, Padam Padam or this. I do like this song, and I still like A LOT of her recent songs too, but there's a handful 'em that just kinda put me off, like the chorus in My Oh My, or certain parts of Dance Alone.
Kylie has said her next project she intends to work with writers for something more “substantial”. At the moment they are riding the success of Padam and continuing in the Tension universe for Tension II. But yes, Kylie currently intends (and it’s already in the initial works) to produce something “meatier” lyrically for KM18 (her next studio album). For now it’s all about the world tour in 2025!!! 🎉
She announced a world tour so the song is about her going on tour which is about 2 seconds away about the corner. She directs herself as well and wears designer clothes. There are a lot of cubes indicating the stage itself.
Kylie aims to spark joy. It is what she does best. Impossible princess was not entirely focused on that particular spark and it didn't do all that well. And as a fan for over 25 years I have to say that to me she is the instant cure to whatever negativity is going on in life.
Love your review Georgina ❤ Yes this song is the 'first' track' from Tension II. It was released the same time as her world tour announcement. She's kicking off in Perth, Australia next year. So if you look at the map, she's going from her last major stage performances - her Vegas residency shows - to her next major 'Lights, Camera, Action!' - which will be in Perth next year. She's on her way! Designers make her stage outfits! She's getting ready! And so are we!!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
"I look stunning tonight, my Armour is like Gautier". I think it's about feeling yourself! That confidence boost! Great song for getting ready for a night out!!! Just like ANY Kylie song!!!!!
I was exactly the same - I thinking, "Where is this even going?" through the verse; I started to take notice through the pre-chorus - and, "Tell me can you feel it?!" made my arm-hair stand up: but when that chorus dropped...... it's game over. *Certified Banger.*
You’re definitely looking too much into the lyrics 😂 it’s about being a diva in the film industry, her armour is Gaultier and she mentions Lagerfield in Vogue. I think it’s just a fun track with a Dancefloor beat.
I looooove this song. Listen to it all the way through. Shes basically the talent and the talent behind the talent and she is her own production. That’s it 🎉❤
The tempo of the song can change the length of the song, you can fit a traditionally structured song in under 3 minutes if the tempo is faster, usually 130bpm or above. The song and the video is basically an announcement for the world tour, i'm guessing the cut part is in reference to the insatgram video she shared before this teasing the tour/video
For Gaultier, she probably refers to the corsets that Jean-Paul Gaultier is very famous for, mainly for the those he created for Madonna and her tours.
You got me laughing sooo hard😂😄My armour is designer clothing😄I loved hearing you hit the high note in the word feel. Don't read too much into it. Jus a fun pop hit!
I was always think of Actions speak louder than words. Pictures capture moments and memories, much like in Back in the Future moments can change the course of anyones life.
I've also noticed that she's singing more and more nasally as times passes. But I honestly love it. It's interesting to go through her entire discography and hear her voice change throughout the years.
It's a shiny, mindless EDM-pop song which is what the Tik Tok's want and she shall deliver... I do love that she's bridged 3-4 generations with her craft which is something that I don't think can really be said at the moment for any other artist, at least to the same degree.. I also noticed that Ina Wroldsen who co-wrote Padam Padam is also the main contributor on this one as well which explains the heavy synth production style.. I guess if it lightning strikes you'll always want to recapture it in a bottle again even if its basically impossible. Still it's one heck of a fall bop! And at just the right time. We need more uplifting fun music in a world where even Katy Perry's latest flops harder than a chubby kid at a public pool...
@honestvocalcoach it’s like a prelude to her world tour. The lyrics are an about gearing up and putting on her war paint (armour/clothes) to be able to create a space (her tour) to let go.
For me personally I see the video/ song as a view of her tour, planning the tour with desk and map. I'm 2 seconds away reference to releasing the tour dates. Pre chorus is referring to her on tour is where she can be kylie and let it all go. Vers 2 reference to how she's feeling and look amour is my gaultier is what she wears on stage. Notice that behind her rail of tour costumes and the models in the gladiator ones ref to aphrodite tour. I believe that this tour will be huge in production like aphrodite and that we all should be prepared for it all to go off. That's my take on it.
You are absolutely right, songs nowadays tend to be ridiculously short. I once read somewhere that it's because current generations don't have the patience to sit through something for too long; they're used to everything moving very quickly, which is why RUclips shorts or IG reels work so well.
For more personal Kylie in recent times, the Golden album from 2018 was some of her most personal stuff about her age, mortality and some break up/love stuff too
As much as I love Kylie's 'get on the dancefloor' pop anthems ('In My Arms' is my all time fav song), I adore Impossible Princess & Golden albums, when Kylie gives us personal songs with deeper meanings.
I took the lyrics to be about how Kylie feels and acts on stage. This song will clearly be the opener on the new tour - the lyrics make more sense from that perspective. There was a personal song on the Tension album - check out Story. It's about her struggles with doubting herself over the years.
I'm glad you enjoyed the song 💛 It's a really catchy bop, and I've enjoyed one of its remixes quite a lot. The song is about her preparing and getting ready for her upcoming "Tension Tour"!
Thank you for your reaction, I always enjoy your insight into the vocal aspects. Kylie has definitely leaned into the more personal side on a lot of songs, especially the Golden and Impossible Princess albums. Hold On To Now, from Tension is very personal to her, as she has commented a few times. Songs like Story, Just Imagine, Somebody To Love, amongst others from Tension, definitely are deeper in meaning. This, however, although very fitting to her personality, is really not that deep, nor does it intend to be. And it’s still gold from her. Among her recent best. Cheers. ❤
2.20 : 'Cause this space is the space where I let it go (I let it go)' : Australia where she starts the tour!! ❤ I'm seeing her in Melbourne 20th Feb 2025
My own personal spin on the lyrics is she’s going out to the club. She’s right around the corner about to arrive her designers clothes give her confidence a.k.a. armor. Some of the lyrics, are turn it up. Turn it loud, thats my spin.
Have you ever listened to Kylie’s Impossible Princess album? I was reading a Kylie interview & she said she her next album will be inspired by Impossible Princess & she wrote all the songs on that album. Impossible Princess isn’t my cup of tea but I’m glad she’s going back to songwriting although to be fair she wrote all of Disco & Golden. As much as I love Kylie’s dance songs, my one critique about Kylie is that, she doesn’t always write her own music. One of the reasons why I am drawn to artists like Taylor Swift (though I don’t like anything after Lover with the exception of her re-recordings) & Mel C is b/c they write their own music & when artists write their own songs, it’s more authentic to me & it’s easier to connect to the artist b/c when singers sing other people’s songs, it’s harder for me to connect to the singer. Sorry if I sound like a music snob. I just connect to artists who write their songs even though I love Kylie as much as the next guy
We are going to see Kylie on 2nd June 2025 at The O 2 in Block A3 near the stage🎉!! Yes I think songs have got really short😮! I'd like to look like her at nearly 60 too!!! Think the song grows on you, techno sound !
The meaning is more attached to her new tour - hence the world map with America & Australia references and name drops of her previous tour costume designers. She’s comin…. “right around the corner”. I agree re gritty - she’s in full ‘bop zone’ but that suits the younger audience with little capacity for depth (
Oh and I would also highly recommend that you give the extended mix a listen. I really love the ending with 3 x chorus! The original version could really use a couple extra bars of intro and 1 - 2 extra choruses at the end. ruclips.net/video/vppxU7XOVik/видео.html
Really like the song, but I totally agree on song lengths - it’s like we’re catering for a tiktok generation, getting harder and harder to find extended versions of my favourite songs!
When she is saying her armour is her Gautier. She is meaning that when she feels rubbish she puts on her fancy clothes and dresses up to feel good. It's her armour that makes her feel strong.
The Versace as armour is her playing a diva character, which she plays thoughout the video. It's not her really being herself or anything deep, she's just having fun from another angle
Hi Georgina, I’m taking this recent video as my opportunity to see if you are interested in a voice. She’s 21 and never uses pitch correction on any of her songs. An anomaly in 2024, I know. To me it’s what is ruining singing/music. If you have 3 minutes, you will understand. To my understanding based on other singers I know, her range is Contralto to Soprano. The example will be in her lower range as that is what this specific song calls for. The song is “We’ve Only Just Begun” originally by Carpenters. As a vocal coach I have to assume you are in love/awe with the late Karen Carpenter. I’m an OG fan. This was produced (and so much more) by James Wilkas. It features the woman I want you to hear, Tori Holub. (Ha Lubb) She was 20 when she recorded this earlier this year, as was Karen in 1970. She was also one of 8 acts invited to sing at the Carpenters 55th Anniversary last April, where she met Richard, in person. They knew each other from earlier. All that said, she’s amazing and I hope you give a listen to this example. Thank you for your time, the link is below. Great reaction! Kylie is killing it! Also it would be great if you could to react to Gagas live performance of Happy mistake on Jimmy Kimmel, her vocals are amazing!! ✨️
I remember when "Wannabe" by the spice girls came our in 1996 and everyone was going crazy because it was less than 3 minutes. But honestly that was more than enough otherwise it would have gotten too repetitive or annoying and the same case with this song. It's the perfect length. And fyi you are gorgeous and deserve all the photo shoots you want!
It is too short but I love the beat and it is a bop for sure. I get the feeling that this song/video is about her making a movie and she’s the star etc. Please cover Jades new single. It is so amazing. A bit provocative with her boogie on show. It is amazing though.❤
The pre chrous and chrous are the best parts of this song. Agree the verses don't entirely hit. It is a bop though. Love the video and it brings to life! She looks phenomenal.
I’ve seen Kylie sing live and her voice never fails, thanks for reacting as always
Her voice sounds very well on old songs. Not new music
@@florinpetrut4963 how about your voice?
The track was to promote the tour. So personally I think it’s basically her saying “I’m ready for it, let’s go”! The designers are those she has used for previous tours as were some of the outfits in the video
Kylie is amazing. Thanks for reaction😊
It’s about her finally getting back to the stage/touring!
QUEEN of POP hands down 💯👑👠💎🙏🔥👌
I think its a 'diva' song. About looking great, feeling confident and owning the room

Spot-on analysis as usual. Bravo Georgina. Thx!
The song is a reference to her about to start the tour.
Lights, Camera, Action.
I'm 2 second away I'm right around the corner now. Refers to her arriving in Australia soon. As she points to the map..
She then sings. I'm 2 second away hold tight I'm about to arrive.

Wow, bit harsh, thought you were just reviewing the song, not attacking her for everything else. The song is great, Kylie sounds great, stop hating!
Agree. But I guess we all have bad days 😅
Tell me you're not a vocal coach/vocalist and biased without telling me you're not a vocal coach/vocalist and biased
ohh, unfortunately, I felt the same energy... the song is amazing, take it easy 😂 I wasn't expecting that much criticism
Grow up... it's hardly scathing. I'm sure Kylie isn't crying in the corner.
Her review is fair and constructive. There is a difference between fan and sycophant.
"I look stunning tonight, my Armour is like Gautier". I think it's about feeling yourself! That confidence boost! Great song for getting ready for a night out!!! Just like ANY Kylie song!!!!!
I feel you, Georgina. I feel you.
She went with bops. This album is an extension she loves to tour, & it’s a kick off for her tour.
It’s about seizing your power- and a Gajltier boned, structured corset IS armour! It’s badass
I was exactly the same - I thinking, "Where is this even going?" through the verse; I started to take notice through the pre-chorus - and, "Tell me can you feel it?!" made my arm-hair stand up: but when that chorus dropped...... it's game over. *Certified Banger.*

I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!!! 🤯💜
I was always think of Actions speak louder than words. Pictures capture moments and memories, much like in Back in the Future moments can change the course of anyones life.
Been waiting for this one 😍🥰great reaction
So excited for this one and even more excited for the upcoming album! Thanks for the reaction!
The message is do what you can to feel confident for life, no judgements just do what’s best for you to face everything with joy and empowerment
I've also noticed that she's singing more and more nasally as times passes. But I honestly love it. It's interesting to go through her entire discography and hear her voice change throughout the years.
Iconic song and video! Goddess Kylie!!!! ❤❤❤
IT’S A BOP!!!🔥🔥🔥
When I first watched the video it had captions on, made much more sense 😍🤣

She was not releasing something like that since "Timebomb"!!!!
OMG QUEEN
Lights camera action for the honest coach!!!!
@honestvocalcoach it’s like a prelude to her world tour. The lyrics are an about gearing up and putting on her war paint (armour/clothes) to be able to create a space (her tour) to let go.
Listen to it as if it’s a tour opener (which I’m sure it will be) Putting on her designer clothes etc and heading to the stage.
It was done the way it was. It’s for her worldwide tour.
I like this Kylie's single, btw... I don't know if it will have the same massive success that 'Padam Padam' had, but it's definitely a bop!
#59 on UK Singles Chart, but without physical release! She's 56 years. I think that she is the only at this age with a new entry on UK Singles Chart!
For more personal Kylie in recent times, the Golden album from 2018 was some of her most personal stuff about her age, mortality and some break up/love stuff too
she's like pop music it self
I love it
As much as I love Kylie's 'get on the dancefloor' pop anthems ('In My Arms' is my all time fav song), I adore Impossible Princess & Golden albums, when Kylie gives us personal songs with deeper meanings.
Excellent can't wait
So cool.
It's about the tour. The audience, Stage, the costumes.
Love this song - Kylie has brought her A-game!
Honest, the golden album she wrote about her relationship.
My own personal spin on the lyrics is she’s going out to the club. She’s right around the corner about to arrive her designers clothes give her confidence a.k.a. armor. Some of the lyrics, are turn it up. Turn it loud, thats my spin.
I think other than this song best one came out recently is the Midnight Run. I like how Orville Peck and Kylie's voices go together.
You DO look nice. Wonderful, indeed.
Epic Minogue ❤The definition of a true pop star
She’s singing about a night out and how going to the club is her place to let it go. Not very profound I know, but such a great track!
It's about her up coming concerts. Lights camera action.
We are going to see Kylie on 2nd June 2025 at The O 2 in Block A3 near the stage🎉!! Yes I think songs have got really short😮!
I'd like to look like her at nearly 60 too!!! Think the song grows on you, techno sound !
The song is about getting dressed up for going out. She's going to a club, but she's treating it like it's a fashion shoot.

Really like the song, but I totally agree on song lengths - it’s like we’re catering for a tiktok generation, getting harder and harder to find extended versions of my favourite songs!
you're in a funny mood ent' ya luv? ❤
When she is saying her armour is her Gautier. She is meaning that when she feels rubbish she puts on her fancy clothes and dresses up to feel good. It's her armour that makes her feel strong.
From what I understand it's about her upcoming tour
The video is amazing and the song is actually quite "Kylie". 💋
Ho hum another top 10 for this... and number 1 for *Tension 2*
The Versace as armour is her playing a diva character, which she plays thoughout the video. It's not her really being herself or anything deep, she's just having fun from another angle
Favourite current misheard lyric..."I've got shades on my face and I'm looking like I'm a fxcking ho". 🤣

If you're looking for meaning, check out "Story"!
Armour by Gaultier probably a reference to the Aphrodite album cover as she had this metal chest plate made by him. ❤
Great reaction! Kylie is killing it! Also it would be great if you could to react to Gagas live performance of Happy mistake on Jimmy Kimmel, her vocals are amazing!! ✨️
now think about dance club DJ's who now have to deal with 3 minute extended mixes...extended mixes...lmao. love your chanel.
For more personal lyrics from Kylie, her Golden album is the one to listen to 😊
The pre chrous and chrous are the best parts of this song. Agree the verses don't entirely hit. It is a bop though. Love the video and it brings to life! She looks phenomenal.
I really miss the days when we got albums with different songs. I think that X is her last great album! But I am glad that she makes new music!
