I saw the Rascals in Chicago in ‘69 and Honolulu in 1970. I’ve got to say they were my favorite group and I’d seen Led Zeppelin and The Who. Many years later we saw Felix on his own loved seeing him.

Felix was a great keyboardist and front man, I love the young Rascals, they had quality that still sound great almost 60 years later!

It's awesome to have Felix here, John, I've always said Felix, Eddie, Dino & Gene should roll off the tongue like John, Paul, George & Ringo! Thank you!

Gene Cornish is an unsung genius.
These dudes were able to transcend the record label image of grown men in kiddie cloths to express the BEST music in a great era

You talk about an underrated group? Every musician is top calibur, awesome, soulful, tunes. Way, way too little views! We are proud to do a Rascal medley.

The Young Rascals/The Rascals have to be one of the greatest Rock bands in history. Can you expect any less from a group of paisans from Joisey? 😉. Pure genius!

There’s a Rascals song on every one of my playlists. ‘Come On Up’...’You Better Run’...’Find Somebody’...The Rascals always remind me of the shindigs we had at Jett Sandifer’s house in 5th grade. But, especially remind me of the Sibley twins...Cindy and Candy.

Saw the Rascals in Honolulu in the late 1960s & still luvin' them decades later! Eddie has always been my fav but Felix's soulful voice always gives me chills. What a voice & talent.

Love, love, love The Rascals. Saw them live at the Forum when they opened for Sly and the Family Stone! What a show!! People Got to Be Free is one of the greatest, socially-conscious song of all time!

Brilliant! Love the Rascals; love Felix - what a voice, and what a catalogue! When people say blue-eyed soul, they think of Michael McDonald and Hall & Oates (I do, too), but those of us old enough to remember start that shortlist with The Rascals. Still holds up. Bring on Pt.2!

I have to tell you Felix I'm 60 years old now and your music just transcends me to a time of innocence love and happiness. Every time I hear the song groovin it takes me back when I was a child and hearing that song the first time building my model car Stone Woods & cook on my mothers snack tray. Even as a child that song literally made my heart explode with happiness. To this day when I hear that song it stops me dead in my tracks and puts me in a vacuum back to that child building a model car it literally is a zen like experience. You are an amazing gifted musician thank you for sharing your gift with the world much love and respect.

The Rascals were one of my favourite groups when I was growing up in Jamaica. (my other favourites were the Beatles, Sly and The Family Stones, The Temptations, and The Wailers).I'm very happy that Felix is still around.
The last time I saw him perform was at B.B.King's in New York.(the band was great). Still one of my favourites.
    Thanks for the interview.

Joey Dee and the Starlighters were without a doubt the coolest band of the early pre-Beatles 1960s. Their two live albums were barely bootleg quality by today's standards but the energy level was off the charts. I love them to this day.

I remember their single True Love when it first came out. That song truly rocked with Felix and Gene trading lead parts. Saw them on a local TV dance party show and watched Dino twirling his sticks. At the time I thought they were the coolest group around.
Really looking forward hearing more from Felix.
Wonder if he regrets not being a doctor.

felix about the toto song from the fahrenheit album
called can't stand it any longer....i knew when i first listened
to that song, that it had a rascals type of sound to it and then
when checking the liner notes i saw felix's name. thats
another one of toto killer songs. i love their non commercial

Damn, John. The Felix Cavaliere series is one of the best ever but every time you go through their hits you leave out "Carry Me Back" from late summer of 1969. So it didn't make #1 doesn't mean it wasn't a great one. It got plenty of airplay and was part of a legendary summer of music. Check it out.
