She will always remain an iconic figure in aviation history, and even at her age she performs amazing. Incredible takeoff, liked.
Thanks Archie! She will indeed
Thank goodness that image and sound technology were good enough to capture the spirit of this elegant creature before she stopped flying. Although, If you didn't feel the chest rattling power of a take off you will never quite understand.
I went to Robin Hood Airport, Doncaster last Sunday (20th Nov) to hear those engines being tested for the last time.
And many of us cried, because it is now finally over.
What a fantastic bird! I will miss that howling sound forever!
!950's bomber. airborne in 13 seconds from start. -- Very impressive still !!
Really amazing filming! Love the Vulcan! Sounds fantastic!
Cheers mate!:)
Whoa. Okay, that was truly, spectacular! Amazing filming and close up shots of this beauty, love the sound too! Those smoke trails too... Wow! Phenomenal job!
Thank you very much bud! Appreciate the kindness :)
Tremendous!! could watch it again and again and again and again !!
+Andy P Thank you so much Andy!
One of my favourite planes, when it flew to RAF Wyton, Cambs, I was so in awe I had to pull over, otherwise, I would have fell off my Honda scooter. So lucky to have been in the right place at the time. Shame she is grounded.
It's a thing of beauty 😍
Perfect angle for the flyby, just brilliant
Goosebumps !!!
A spectacular plane. By far my favourite aircraft. Liked!
Beautiful footage of an amazing plane. Thank you for sharing!
Maginficent aircarft to sight! Looks so agile and lite.
Amazong video Harry :)
Thanks Omer!:)
Stood close to the stage of over 100 rock and Pop concerts, Worked in a busy hot brass stamping foundry .Visited thousands of football matches, Saw this aircraft fly at a show in the 70'S , Watching it fly it was double the sound of anything I have ever heard in my life. The whole ground shook as it went overhead. Beasts are not beautiful this one was.
that was really close, and I liked it
Amazing video mate, I've only ever seen her on static display, she must be a dream to watch in person when she's flying above you. Liked
Thank you mate!
So sad they couldn’t keep this flying, so impressive & emotional watching it..what an elegant but destructive bomber.. love the vid by the way 👍🏻
What a beast! Hard to believe XH558 is 50 years old! Excellent footage!
Thanks bud!
Excellent camera work, thanks!
Thank you ever so much!
Flightsim10HD I was there for that final flight from Scotland, Viva la vuclan!
Impressive takeoff in such a short space of time almost seems effortless
This old girl is a thing of Beauty and a work of art. What a beautiful Machine.
Absolutely awesome, I love this plane so much, I will miss her forever.
Great catch Harry so majestic and those engines sound so good.
Thanks pal!
Nice steady video and crystal clear quality^^^
Beautiful looking bird! I love its wingspan! Amazing video, stunning catch and shot! Liked a lot :)
Cheers buddy, oh stunning plane!
Beast sounding and elegant plane ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t believe this amazing aircraft was conceived soon after the Second World War. It looks timeless, like any classic design
Impressionante. Magnífico.
Amazing Catch! Would love to see it flying! Liked
Thanks! You'd love it
My partner bought me a special present, which was rivets from XH558s wingtips and apparently, my name is etched on the tips as well.
Was lucky enough to have seen the old girl flying out from the Norfolk coast in the mid 10am, but also doing part of the farewell tour over Norwich Airport (RAF Horsham St Faiths) and the static Vulcan XM612 at the aviation museum
Fab clip, so good to see her against that gorgeous blue sky. It's where she belongs really.
Thanks mate, couldn't agree more!
Brilliant birds
Brilliant video Harry! She is sure a beautiful bird!
Thanks Will! Affirm 479 :)
Great shot mate. Still havent seen this bird in action yet unfortunately :( Well done liked
Cheers Jon! Ach shame
OMG those folk @ 0:41 on the backroad to Galston watching the Vulcan.
Haha I know!
Fun fact that could of been me lol
I thought pornography was banned on RUclips?
Fabulous.
Great videography!
Very very beautiful video!!! :-) :-) :-)
Thank you!
What few people appreciate when they see the Vulcan in videos is the size of it, I remember as a child in the 70's standing at the wire fence at RAF St Athan watching these things take off and seeing birds tumble through the air that got caught in its backdraft. There are no other heavy bombers in the history of aviation that had the power and maneuverability of the Vulcan, it could change direction like a medium size fighter, take a look at this vide for reference ruclips.net/video/YYOgsgnZ8dw/видео.html . There is something primeval about the Vulcan howl, its saying 'get out of my way or your *ucked'
I visit the RAF Museum and Duxford every so often and always stand under the nose of the Vulcan- I can never get over just how big it is!
Handley Page: "I'm going to blow people's minds with my follow-up to the Halifax!"
Avro: "Hold my beer."
Both were brilliant examples of British aviation design and development. The Victor looks like one mean, purposeful hombré too.
a shame the avro arrow wasnt saved for airshows would of been some sight with the arrow flying along side the vulcan! :-((
Of all the missed chances the Avto Arrow is the one that fascinates me most.
Why do the most magnificent aircraft always have such finite lifespans?
Fantastic !!!!!!!!
Gee she was light. Never saw that when I was at Scamton back in the day.
Managed to catch the Vulcan,Spit,Hurricane and 2 Lancasters over RAF Marham.
Only defence cuts finished the Vulcan, with the advent of standoff cruise missiles it would have stil been a very useful projector of power and an effective tool.
The Vulcan's first flight was just 22 years after that of the Heyford bi-plane bomber.
Unless you have witnessed it in person you have no idea how loud this plane was.
Nice one Harry :-)
Cheers Dan!:)
Fantastic
These jet engines from the rear (at takeoff) sound like afterburners to me. Is it louder than the Concorde, or are they both about the same? By the way, the Vulcan was a very nice military aircraft for people to fly in.
Concorde is way louder bc it has afterburners
The bomber that thought it was a fighter!
saw her last Flight at RIAT and managed an under wing walk also Sad that the old girl won't be flying anymore.
Mikey C why won't it be flying anymore lack of funds
the best plane ever built 😊😊😊
seen them evert when i was a child, they were stationed at ballykelly co derry in northern ireland, flew in formation of four,s and five,s.they replaced the avro shacketon. beautiful plane.
Lovely
Saw the finally flight shame to see the beast gone
The first and best stealth bomber
Yes the best in the world
State of the exhaust on that!
Omg, keep her flyi
Wow
wow, going up pretty quick and steep... probably pretty dry that bird
No matter how good a video you see (try searching for XH558 spectacular takeoff) nothing matches being there & seeing it for yourself.
A wonderful aircraft, but how did they manage to get the tailfin union flag upside down?
Vulcan......There is no substitute.
Take off like a fighter
q presioso Kazabombardero Abro Vulka es una lastima q hayamos tenido guerra contra los britanikos .la fuerza area argentina nuestra le podriamos habe comprado esos Kazas grandes a Inglaterra .😕😯😐
How in the hell is it taking off that fast!? (I know..delta wing)
I always heard that this aircraft was the loudest aircraft and it wasn't even close.
No flying VULCAN no CONCORDe life is duller these days.
Of course, now we have the reusable rockets flying. Maybe in a decade or so we'll be launching spaceships.
You should live in my bit of N Norfolk, where we have low level nightly flypasts by C130s. Never dull here in Cley for aircraft.
Hercs, Typhoons and F15Es...
Even got a Mk22 Spitfire buzzed over here X3 on Tuesday....
One beautiful bird. Pity there was now Vulcan Howl but great anyway.
It can carry an immense bombload ... and still handle almost like a fighter ........
Write your MP's that Canada should build them ...........
Show me another large plane that takes of in that short of a distance
She should be flying......
Why British retire this aircraft
Went to an aircraft museum. The planes didnt fly
0:27 Union flag upside down?
Notreally jet
A shame the union flag on the tail fin is upside down.
Good eye.
Auto Digit thank you. Mayhaps it's for when the aircraft flies upside down.
Not if the flag mast is to the front of the plane, which it probably would be on this side of the aircraft.
Makes me sad that they don't fly anymore.
I have never understood the terrible cockpit window design.
Going to WAR
if russia get a little fruity, send the old girl to moscow let her have her moment with the payload she was supposed to have ;)
This great aircraft was going to be replaced by TSR 2 and two porter types were built, they were faster than anything the world had ever seen at the time, but cost a fortune, they would have carried The British nuclear deterant but pressure from America, cost of production, laybour government and and state of Brit economy at the time couldn't allow it. The Vulcan was the last hurrah to our brilliant designers technicians and workers, who were then snapped up by the Yanks to design and build their aircraft in specific fields. Great bomber that ever flew was Vulcan. It's engines propelled the Concorde, Rolls Royce Olympus? Designed in 50s. What a waste of talent, we Brits don't give enough respect to our BLUE collar workers or designers, and our leaders are as much use as a chocolate fire guard.
Protertypes we're built soz.
The engines in the Vulcans are not Olympus....they are Avons. The TSR2 engines were Olympus and got reused in Concorde. The word you are looking for is "prototypes"
Lame piloting;
Late to tuck wheels away after take-off.
No howl on overpass.
Almost certainly not Sqn Ldr Martin Withers.
Send this to ukraine quickly !
She will always remain an iconic figure in aviation history, and even at her age she performs amazing. Incredible takeoff, liked.
She will indeed Archie! Thanks man!
