    My old man has a '64 shortbed with push button trans, 318, and it was painted a salmon pink from the factory. There's not another one like it in the world.

    Love those old Dodge trucks! My grandfather had a '67 D200 that he'd bought new... Looked exactly like this one (without the fancy body moulding, but with a padded dash bumper pad). It had more miles running in the hay field than it did on the road; and that's the truck I got my driver's license with! I later had a '69 W200 Powerwagon that I wished I still had today! Currently driving a 2001 Dodge-Cummins 2500.

    Now that's one fancy Ram Truck , it's amazing how good shape that truck was after sitting all those years . I think it's perfect...well done .

    I strongly believe in your quote ''If we all did the same things restoring these old vehicles, the world would be boring.'' I love seeing what people can come up with when they add their creativity to a project. That old girl looks great!

    that brings back a lot of memories...we used to log in the mountains of colorado..we had various old dodge trucks...the dodge power wagon was known as the roughest riding pickup of any....but they were tough...nice rescue....

    @aleblanc3547 8 лет назад +1

    I lean toward GM trucks when it comes to new(er) ones, but once they get as old as this Dodge, well you gotta like it (same goes for an older Ford.) Thanks, Ken. I think it's perfect just the way you did it.

    Just came across this video and had to watch it as I have recently acquired a ‘66 D200 in sea foam green and a slant six, 4 speed on the floor. Got it running. Just need to work on the brakes and it will be road worthy. No intention of repairing the rust and all. I want to keep it kind of rough and just drive the old thing. Thanks for the inspiration. Great job!

    • @1963impala2drWaylonWire
      @1963impala2drWaylonWire  4 года назад

      thanks. thats what i did with this one.. I replaced the master cylinders.. mine has two.. one for the hydraulic clutch too.. I had to replace the windshield and I put a carpet in it.. but I'm thinking I'll swap that out.. for a 3/4 ton farm truck..a rubber mat seems more appropriate. I'd love to see your truck if you have pictures.. my email is coatesgrafting@gmail.com are you gonna clear coat it?

    Man, I really dig these "ancient" classic, vintage trucks. Boy, that's 1 groovy 1965 2nd series light blue pickup truck. I wonder if it's a d-100 1/2 ton or a d-200 3/4 ton truck. Anyway, I've got a 1969 Dodge camper special pickup truck that's tan with white top, regular cab 2 door, 128"wheel base, 318 v-8 177 horsepower motor, sweptside with an 8' bed box, 2 wheel drive with 3 speed auto transmission. It has a 1969 11' self contained grayish silver Avion c-11 overhead camper. I bought the truck in Oklahoma on Mar. 2016 & the camper in Colorado on Jul. 2016. Then I drove it back to Corpus Christi in south Texas. It was an adventure miracle journey round trip.

      yes, its everywhere around here.. and because of the very arid climate and no salt on the roads.. they just last forever..pretty much rust free other than just a little surface rust.

I'll have to check..there are a couple other videos on it.. of when we brought it home and when we started it up. you can see the engine. its in a playlist on my channel called 65 dodge I think.. good to hear from you. That's a sweet old truck. @4:24 1972 was the last year for left hand thread on the driver's side lug nuts. Ma Mopar made a lot of changes to cut costs and save money on the 1973 models. They needed every penny they could save to build the prototype for a new tank that the Army didn't know they needed yet. It was adopted as the M1 Abrams....

    An electronic ignition distributor from a 1975 318 will drop right in. Then you can use it to trigger a GM hei module and coil. You might consider bypassing the amp meter. They have a habit of burning up in the dash or the high current melts the bulkhead connector. That's a solid old truck and that poly 318 is one of the best ever built for reliability.
