I was thinking about this kind of effect on some simple outline shapes to make them less rigid or formal. Then there was your video in my YT feed! No I just thought about it - I didn't mention it to anyone or do a search! Anyhow I just gladly upgraded to Version 2 to get Warp. As usual your superbly clear videos really clarify the specific skills I need to work on my project. Thank you so much.

Great video! I learned some things, thank you! You cant make each node a different color that fades together like you can in Illustrator, right? I wish it had that feature, I liked using that in Illustrator.

They have an Arc Horizontal option in the Vector Warp feature, that is useful. You can then play with the parameters of it a bit. Hope that helps, and thanks a lot for watching!

The elements within the group can be edited while the warp group is still active. The elements will be effected by the warp as you edit them. Or click on Mute Mesh at the top, edit the elements and easily re-apply the warp group simply by unmuting the mesh. Hope that helps!
In Version 2, at the bottom of the Layers panel, to the left of the New Layer button, is the warp option, its a distorted square with lines in it. I hope that helps, but you do have to have Version 2 of Affinity Designer. Thanks for watching!

I can see this tool being used for sci-fi and fantasy art, like when a main character is shifting between dimensions or in a dream-like setting. Questions, comments, ideas, etc. are welcome. You can apply the textures to objects and text but the vector warp will only manipulate the object or text itself and does not seem to effect the texture. Maybe this is something they will fix and incorporate in a future update. Thanks for your comment!
@@njvalenteart Yes, I managed to install and test it just now. The pixel persona has been my favourite feature in Designer, so this is not so nice for me. I also tested the knife with pixel persona and this luckily seems to work OK.
@@echtesnorwegen Ok cool, I'm glad the knife tool worked, thats good to know. I would imagine this is something they will change with future updates, because it would be very handy.

When are they gonna add an Arch preset? A lot of my designs require text on an arch. Any workarounds?

Have you or has anyone done this on the ipad app for disgner? I'm having trouble finding those functions
I have not yet but may in the near future. You do have to upgrade to version 2 in order to have access to the vector warp feature. Hope that helps!
