Beautiful way of presenting difficult passages. Tell a story! Priceless. Ms Lisitsa is a phenomenal talent who's sight reading ability is off the chart! Wow! I truly admire this pianist. Following her you tube Waldstein video as the "teacher" while learning to play this piece.

Wow! Very fortunate! I've seen some of his masterclasses and he was so very nice and "Gentle" with young students! Is this young boy your student? Wonderful!
She looks to happy being able to teach someone about the art of playing piano, she seems like a truly extraordinary person! Being so talented and yet so down to earth. And of course the person in this video is very talented as well!
Great, she knows how to teach this young man. All this great images she gives him. The energy is passing so well . And he has a fantastic understanding for his age. Seems that nobody is around...just music and fun! The are completely into it.
What a master pianist Valentina is--simply awesome. Also her wonderful personality shines like a brilliant star. These young masters are so lucky to have Valentina as their teacher. To understand the music you are playing means everything. I could listen all day. She exudes excellence in her teaching and her personality!
Really enjoyable. I'm a Bösendorfer lover, but every once in awhile I hear a really lovely Steinway, and this is one of them for sure! Beautiful sound colors.
Our session with her was on the 9' Bos with the extra bass register. (that's all I really know about the piano.) But she pretty much makes anything sing. ruclips.net/video/1D2lPocwncs/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ark1nZoT6D0/видео.html
Thanks Valentina, you have to listen to her. She got expriences so many years. Don't listen anybody. Classical is difficul, you are very good and very lucky to meet her. I am not when I was young. Good luck.
Listen to her talk in one of the interviews about what it was like in her Russian music school. She is the antithesis of that with this student, so supportive, so engaging.
Almost done with this piece! I remember my first thoughts after hearing it for the first time on THIS video: "Holy shit This will be one difficult project!" But the entire piece has not been as hard as it seems, and has trained me in many different techniques! My 4 5 finger trills have become much stronger as a result, and ive strengthened the coordination of my left hand SUPERBLY after learning the many different parts of this piece! Learn it, and you will come out a much better pianist for it!
WOW!
Lucky kid! Love her down to earth approach to something many find confusing. My vocal coach was much like Valentina, and I assure you, her teaching method works better then any other, because she makes it fun, and easy to remember.....if only I had the talent to be her student, but alas, at 49, I think I’m too old to fulfill my dreams of being a concert pianist. since I was about to start university (U of T here in Toronto) at the age of 20 (I took a year off to save money) I got sick, very sick, first with Crohn’s disease, then colon cancer...each time I thought I could go back to school, something else happened...and now, 29 years, 33 surgeries, and 5 close calls with death, not to mention the countless side effects of years of chemotherapeutic drugs, radiation, and treatments, giving me osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, PTSD, depression, anxiety, DDD, GERD, hypertension, short bowel disease (I’m left with less then 5% of my entire GI tract), plus many other issues....well.....do you think I could still become a pianist? The arthritis isn’t too bad, it hurts my hands a little, but the passion I have for classical piano has only grown. Please be honest with me for those of you with the knowledge....is it too late to start all over? If not, does anyone know of an affordable means to learn the piano from scratch (I say affordable because 29 years of hospitalization and living on long term disability for the rest of my life hasn’t exactly been a windfall) in the Toronto area? I’ve memorized practically every piece of classical piano, my favourite composers being Mozart, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Debussy, Beethoven, Liszt, Bach, and Brahmas. I never learned how to read music, at least, not treble clef. All throughout school, from grade 3-12, I played the trombone (bass clef only), and sang first bass in several choirs. I auditioned and was accepted to three universities....but thanks to all those years of illness, I’ve lost all memories from my youth, so I’m starting from scratch. I had a natural talent for music since I was a small boy, the only one in the family....probably because I’m adopted. In 2001 I met my biological mother and three half siblings I didn’t know existed, and discovered my maternal grandmother was a concert pianist, who died from a ruptured colon! Ironic I did too when I was 21, was just lucky I was already hospitalized when it happened, so they were able to open me up, start my heart, which stopped for 2 minutes, and save my life (that’s also when they found my first tumours which were growing on the outside of my shattered colon). So now I knew where I got my musical ability and my diseases from! My bio-mom didn’t know too much about my bio-father, he left her after he got her pregnant (what a bastard!), but I discovered that almost everyone in my genetic family made their living from music, going back 10 generation that I’ve been blue to trace so far. Some of my family were apparently quite famous classical pianists in Germany and Austria back in the late 1600’s and up, so I know why I love music so much, it’s in my blood, literally! I’ve had the same dream hundreds of times, of being on stage playing the piano with an orchestra, but back in the late 1700’s or early 1800’s (I’m guessing from the clothes and the feeling I get)....now it all makes sense, but I fear because of my heath and age, it’s too late for me. What do you think? Before getting sick, I was able to play simple pieces like Clair de Lune, Moonlight Sonata 1,2 and 3, and the like, just from playing by ear, funny, the longer I write this, the more I’m convincing myself I’m going to try anyways...if I can’t because of the arthritis, so be it, but I’ve got to try, but as I said, if anyone knows a good teacher I could afford in the Toronto area, PLEASE let me know ASAP...thanks for listening, most times just talking about my experiences helps me cope with it much better then remaining silent. Most call me a troll, but I really don’t care what they call me, I know I’m honest and sincere, I just love to verbalized everything, because believe me, living through what I’ve had to, it’s bloody difficult to deal with!!
