I had never heard of this game until about 4 days ago. I looked into it and was worried because it had released in 2015 and was still in "early access". needless to say I picked up the game and have been having a fucking blast! it was super hard to get the hang of the unique combat system but once I did I was slaying all the undead. your videos have been a huge help, namely finding healing lol. I ran through the first 2 levels literally one hit ha-ha, that's when I found your channel. I checked out your videos and made a new run and now I'm doing so much better. thanks a lot man, cant wait to see what they add to this game down the road.
Thanks so much for letting me know! I'm so stoked my vids helped and youre enjoying it now. Means a lot to me to hear that honestly!! Good luck in your runs!
Wow thank you so much for the platforming puzzle quick solve. And for making these walkthroughs!
Great content!
You're super welcome! There's lots more to come. Thanks for watching :D
in the gated room of the barracks on the left hand side there is some blanks, move those and there is a cool room with loot. also missed some chests in there too!
Awesome stuff! So glad i picked this game up
Yeah it's a blast when you get the hang of it
you make combat look so much easier than it is. It feels like playing qwop
Hahaha qwop... Such a classic.
i was gonna add this in my comment on the first vid but it got long so... but if anyone finds the Brush item, i recommend keeping it with you so you can use it to wipe dirt and grime off your weapons, it doesn't really serve much of a purpose other than making your clothes, armor and weapons look clean, but it's nice if you're like me and want to be fashionable as HELL lol
also, at 5:00, if you go to the southeast most corner of the room until you see a stack of planks and a bench piled up near a wall, you can click and drag them out of the way and open up a passageway to a hidden, makeshift gambling area, there's a chest nestled between stone walls and hidden under some jars/cups(?), so it's a bit hard to find but if you do, it can have some pretty good armor or weapons in it, i once got a good quality lamellar breastplate from it, but i've also gotten some pretty meh stuff from it as well, i think it's still worth checking.
i also wanted to say that since you're most likely using Exanimap, a majority of the stuff on it is from an older version of the game, so things like map layout (entire rooms no longer exist like in the 2nd or 3rd level), items, and enemies (they like to wander sometimes, like the longsword guy in the first level) don't exactly match up, at least that's how it was a few months ago when i last played Exanima.
bTW @4:58 There is a hidden cave in the South east of that room that leads to a iron chest, i just found it looking for the key
at 24:04 when you read a book you can see you actually lvl up so they do give you exp
Darren tried to kill & he didn’t calm down for some reason so I had to let him go lol
Love the content just picked this game up super helpful! How long till part 3?
Tomorrow! I am going to put out one a day. It's 11 episodes total.
Bless you for this friend! And also the dev team for sticking to it for what seems like over a 100 years now
LOVE the walkthrough, and the dad joke.
Wait I did dad jokes?!?
@GreyBeardGamingYT I am kneed deep in 2.5 RN. Just the Joke about the creamless crematorium . I should edit it to 'dad joke'. Very good content
all rectangles are squares but not all squares are rectangles. So in the case of that shield, it is BOTH.
I think it's the other way around lol all squares are rectangles I dunno though I'm just some dude
@@GreyBeardGamingYT BETWEEN THE TWO OF US WEE WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS! sorry caps... side note, I posted a comment in your catacombs level video about how there is a whole nother area that I havent seen a single content creator discover yet. If you go left instead of right in the first room with the long bridge beginning, youll see a bridge thats out. To the left of that is a big sawhorse. Go around that and youll be where im talking about. It must be new. Im exploring it now. Its pretty big. Bring a wide plank for the bridges. The directions follow from the portal floor entrance.
btw if u didnt know the blue orbs you fine in chest can be used to make piece of equiptment go back to the quality it was made for example a perfectly made short sword thats in poor condition if u use a blue orb on it it will make it perfect condition
which in turn raises the stats of it
In the room with the buried chest there is a hole in the back wall with a chest
You talked about the fun of collecting gems and then completely ignored finding the map. At least i cought a glimpse of where it was lol
The in game map is kinda useless unless you are already some kind of irl cartographer 😅
You can find the maps online with most things marked, think the site was called exanimap
P.S please don't give the guy chaff for small bobos, people like him are what's keeping this zombie foetus of a game alive until it gets a full release
@@wolfcam4462 what? I never have any problem reading the map as long as i have the compass. In fact, right now, the maps are most of the fun for me. I go from room to room, marking doorways with bits of debris until i find the map. Then i use it to methodically explore the entire level. I probably wouldn't have found the level 1 labyrinth area if i hadn't seen it on the map and been curious about it. And also, it's fun to find areas that are slightly different. It adds to the atmosphere the map has human errors and some places that weren't explored by the writer. I'm not trying to speed run it, I'm experiencing the vibe.
Yeah don't worry I actually drop the gems later too. This guide assumes you want to use exanimap instead of in-game maps. Using the in game maps with no outside help is fun and I played the game this way for a while before deciding to get help and just find everything.
@@Mike28625damn man, maybe it's just my internal gps malfunction. My brain sweats when I look at their map
@@GreyBeardGamingYTthat's alright. i mean, i guess I'll watch a walk through here and there if i feel really stuck, but i don't feel good about it, lol. I don't think I'd enjoy the game as much if i use an outside map like that
Does tricking enemies into killing each other give you xp?
how do i learn new powers?
I LOST DERRIN IN A HOLE IN THE MAzE
How long did it take you to get used to the controls? This game is a tripping simulator :P
i don't get it, how pressing E does the stab? this hotkey doesn't even show in the controls settings
Oh sorry yes there's a basics guide I made that goes over all my settings. This is "alternate attack" I believe. Mine is set to e
how do you cure it the red damage? im start the lvl 2 in half red bar :(
You need the healing salves. I show their locations throughout the whole walkthrough. There's one on pretty much every level.
@@GreyBeardGamingYT I had it, but I didn't know how to use it. its done working
@@orszagmihaly7752 oh sorry yep it's confusing too because it's a very slow heal over time so you might not even notice that it's working. You'll notice as well when you've selected it then clicked yourself the salve will become an empty jar. Good luck in the dungeons
Why did you not pick up a better weapon for Darren? He's still running around with that small hatchet. I pictured him as an axe dude.
Lol I end up giving him a weapon at some point I think. I definitely didn't use him much this whole playthrough.
I lost my mind when you left the healing salve behind. (24:17)
I don't think I did leave a healing salve behind! hmmm
@@GreyBeardGamingYT What is that faint blue glow up on the shelf by the scroll? Maybe it's some other potion? (I'm new to the game).
Okay weird... there isn't supposed to be one there but that's definitely a blue glow... I have to go back and check it now. I will let you know.@@AbominableHuman
Okay! I ran back and it's a "faintly glowing jar" clearly healing goo used to be made in this location but this isn't a healing pot.@@AbominableHuman
@@GreyBeardGamingYT LOL thank you for checking it out. The mystery has been solved!
I recently bought this game- I think its an awesome game concept and love watching your walkthrough videos, I love the unique aspects about this game- the exploration, ambience and feel- BUT I had to refund the game simply because of the horrendous controls- I have played difficult games like dark souls- the controls are what kill this game for me- the fact that you must control the camera plus your footwork and your torso respond to separate commands/ inputs, simply attacking using the mouse to swing at just the right angle is HARD. even practicing in the battle arena felt more like im just desperately button mashing to not get killed in 2 hits. There are some bugs where your character can easily clip up onto various items like crates...Awesome game, but not for me- I resign myself to watching your playthroughs to enjoy and experience this game...
Ha I read both of your comments thanks for watching!! I really hope you enjoy! I get it honestly, it took me a while and originally I bounced of the game pretty hard, I couldn't get past the first few enemies. I tried the game again and somehow it clicked and it felt a lot easier. The game has a rhythm to it that you have to respect. Once you start moving with the game and keeping it simple (step in swing, step back repeat) it gets a lot easier.
