I have drank a lot if white tea including this one. If you have the money, you should do yourself a favor and order one. It is hands down the best white tea cake I have ever tried. The Chinese expression is true for this tea. It is a treasure
Scott, if you don't mind sharing... what is your general recipe/guidelines for making your typical butter tea? It always sounds amazing when I hear you two talk about it on here!
I used about 10 grams of tea in a liter of water, boiled it for 3 minutes, then let sit for 3 minutes. Poured into a thermos, added 1/5 stick of unsalted butter, salt to taste, and a 1.5 of scoops of Bulletproof Collagen powder (vanilla). You can also use other protein powders (whey, vegan, etc). The protein powder is optional but it gives it a thickness and it makes it very fortifying!
I just fell in love with you guys. You are awesome. Will make our way to mae salong tomorrow. If thai oolong is any good? Well see. Wanted to do a hike to see old wild tea trees on a hike. but didnt stick with the timetable so wont have time to do so. Another Time i guess...
I went to Mae Salong several years ago. Very nice place to walk. Tea can be good or so-so. I wish I could remember the name of the place there I went to drink tea. I brought some ripe pu-erh as a gift.
Hi Scott and Xiao! I enjoyed this video. 😄 You both made me laugh quite a few times. 😄😄❤️ And I really love that music in the beginning. You guys make this tea sound so delicious and savory! Thank you for sharing!

This should be arriving at my door within the next few hours. If it is as good as i expect it will be, I will probably wind up immediately ordering another. If anyone is interested, Scott’s 2018 Cha Nong Hao white tea cake is very good and quite affordable. I’ll be sure to review this after I have a session with it
Just to give an update, I had a session with this tea and If you were to ask me wether this is tea, medicine, or treasure I would tell you that it is most definitely a treasure. I ordered a second cake just to make sure I have enough to drink it every day till next year. It has many of the flavor notes that one would expect from this type of white tea cake, but the age truly turns it in to something special. The depth that the aging has given this tea is hard to put into words. It is a cut above any other white tea cake that I have ever tried. It would be interesting to do a side by side between this cake and the three year aged one that you carry. I’m really glad I bought this
Dang you Scott... This video totally made me cave and break the seal on my "three aroma Jingmai bai mu dan" (riiiip ageing plans haha!). I totally forgot how great that one is, I am pretty sure that the ageing plans are now totally ruined, this will not last at all :D I am looking forward to see if you are making any interesting white tea releases (cakes) this year. White tea is probably my favorite 'chill' tea, when I just want something nice and mellow. I wonder if I will enjoy Fu, or other hei cha just as much? Lovely to see more teas being enjoyed. By the way, do you think that the 2013 Shou Mei (the one you drank with the Oolong drunk) could be used with butter as well? I am very curious to try a white with it.
We'll keep finding more good white teas (whether our own or from other brands). The 2013 Shou Mei gets my stamp of approval for butter tea as does the one in the video.
Yunnan Sourcing how about the 2019 Man Gang Gu Shu Bai Cha cake? How does this tea compare do that one? How do you think it would do as butter tea? I’ve got this tea and I absolutely love it. Love to see some videos on your whites!
you guys have GOT(!!) to buy a bonavita temperature variable gooseneck. They hold temperature to increments of a single degree for up to an hour!! made my sessions literally so pleasurable without having to constantly reboil every five seconds (and no i'm not a shill for bonavita haha). Anyway, love your videos! (perhaps you might consider doing some closeups of the liquor too, while i'm here?)
Will check it out. Would be less hassle. We'd need another camera for the tea liquor close ups... might be a bit cumbersome but I agree it would be cool.
I am sorry but I keep hearing "butt plug" whenever Scott says bud pluck 😭😭😭 Anyway, love the white tea/ white tea cake content!!! Please do more of it.
Oh Pluck-it. I’m gonna have to plick one up (i’m a sucker for Bai Mu Dan)!
;-) You will like it.
Here I sit enjoying another of your wonderful videos pondering whether I want to jump down another worm hole, as I've never really had much white tea.
Hmmm... can you resist the allure? ;-)

Do you guys drink tea everyday?
Oh yes... usually 2 to 4 sessions per day, but only record one.
Love your whites, will get this next order.
Just ordered 4 cakes, sounds tasty. Thanks for video.
Thank you! You won't regret it! ;-)

I love Cuckoo too, the guy is Greg Davies :). The tea looks amazing too
Yeah that's him! Love Greg Davies! Just watched Cuckoo Season 4. Silly shit...

@@Yunnansourcing I'm vegan, do you think coconut oil could work too?

So exciting! I hope you'll be enjoying it soon! Thanks for leaving reviews on the website (and anywhere) for the teas! It's big help to others!

Glad to hear it... it's really good. The three year is excellent too, but a bit less aged taste. Would be worth picking up if you didn't mind to wait.

Red oolong where is it in your store? Link please
Yes it's here: taiwanoolongs.com/products/luye-natural-farming-plum-nectar-red-oolong-tea
Nice film and music. ^_^
Just drank/drunk! Why is aged White so ‘Dreamy’?!
A good white is so balanced and has a bit of everything in it.
I've not read "The Color of Magic" yet but I really enjoyed the movie.
I didn't realize there was a movie.
@@Yunnansourcing My wife has read most of his books. The movie is awesome!
whats that jagged rock thing?
That's from the base of an extinct volcano in central Oregon.
