- it reminds me of another game, i can't quite think of which one

Ah yes the only game in the entire franchise to actually be a canonical sequel
If I recall right, Diez from HG 2 changed her name to Ditz and started using feminine pronouns. It's almost certainly just a difference in translation but I choose to believe it's the first trans car in gaming
@@VanessaMagick My god I can't even watch a video about a PS2 game without having this doctrine being forced down...
I'm outta here, screw youtube
@@VanessaMagickTrans Am reference
i mean it's fun innit. i like the idea of people absolutely losing their minds at the idea of a toy car from a ps2 car changing pronouns
@@VanessaMagick "If I recall" what on earth are you on about? Literally never and nowhere in the history of the entire universe is it mentioned that Diez is canonically trans, outside of your statement.
I personally don't think it's a translation issue (Though knowing what this series can be like sometimes it's a possibility) and more just a neat little easter egg.
If we're talking headcanon, though... I'd say the events of HG2 made the drivers so famous that they had to use aliases just to compete in HG3's World Grand Prix, hence why there's "Ditz" and "P.O." rather than Diez and Peo.
No way you turn down to chat with Castrol Tom's supra
I adore how they kept the coin holder from the real Choro-Q cars on the 3D models in this game.
So apparently the Choro Q HG games are the open world adventure ones.
Penny Racers is HG 1
Road Trip Adventure is HG 2
Gadget Racers is HG 3
All 3 are the titles of PS2 releases in the EU. It's confusing because different Choro Q games across different platforms and regions will share names or have similar names.
Penny Races was just races unfortunately, it was on Road Trip Adventure (ChoroQ HQ 2) that they started having a open world, there's also ChoroQ in the west that is the 4th japanese ChoroQ game (yeah, this franchise is a mess in the west)
Don’t forget Choro Q HG4
Otherwise known as ChoroQ
(WHO KEEPS COMING UP WITH THE NAMES!?!)
I think HG (High Grade) is just the name of the universe, since each game has most of the same characters. Otherwise HG4 (Choro Q 2004) didn't have an open world.
What about choroq wonderful
@@Sloptire
He’s actually playing through that as well!
So, if i remember it correctly, this game doesn't really have a body shop. You have to earn them from wins, at random.
Also congratulations on finding the sequel to Road Trip Adventure, made by the same people.
The third in the choroq high grade series, the interesting thing about this game is that it wasn't ever released in the US.
Parts in this game are interesting, with quite a few different pieces for driving on water, plus some to augment your jump.
so get body you must win race unlike road trip adventure where you can buy body
funny how the choro a hg games are catching on, I’d never think anyone would play a game straight out of a core memory of my childhood
Why can't we get games like these anymore? I would play for hours a remastered roadtrip adventure, plus with the technology we got nowadays we could have a way bigger map.
Big out of touch companies won't bother, hopefully someone in the indie scene will be inspired by these games tho! I mean, "Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom" is sorta like the CQ HG games, but that one is a silly platformer where you are a car
im honestly kind of stunned that there hasnt been an indie spiritual successor to the choro q hg games yet
The magic is working within limitations, and experimenting with how you can maximise
Games and movies these days have it entirely backwards and think everyone is happy with 0 substance but perfect graphics
It's called Test Drive Unlimited
Also, as a heads up, IIRC some parts with similar themes have synergy, but im not sure how well the game expains this. These include stickers and meters
my biggest confusion when I switched from road trip adventure to this is: the fact this game has no handling parts, the only way to improve handling is if you combine certain ornaments with decals or honks as far as I am concerned.
2:32 I knew who exactly was gonna be in the house and I was still shocked.
Thanks for fixing sound favouring left channel, my ears are happier now.

"It's a horrible little graveyard, where people have died."
People really are dying to get in, then
They massacred peo in this game
"Asian miracle" sounds like a weird euphemism from the 1950s.
i started playing this earlier this week, i find it's much more difficult than road trip lol - wait till you do the second race of the sand zone lol. apparently there are also part combinations which help the performance of your car so even some of the 'useless' or decorative items can help if paired with other things including liveries i believe
your editing and commentary are genuinely top tier! i was having a nostalgia attack for road trip n stumbled across ur channel n i gotta say, this is top tier content. pls keep going.
Oh lawd, he's hitting the whole series
This is the game that never got an American release, right? Super excited to see how it's different!
Someone in one of the previous videos compared this to how the overworlds worked in Occerina of Time and man they weren't kidding
EDIT: 11:40 The Lancer's name is Tommy, lol
Not gonna lie, if you ever finished road trip adventure. I'd love for you to make this into a series. Really enjoying the content
The more I think about a Choro Q graveyard, the more my heart comes closer to failure
i like the thing thats on the rear of the cars. like the actual toys theyre based on has it
There's a shocking number of these Choro Q games between PS1 and PS2, they're all pretty fun and unique.
Please play more of this game! Really enjoying these Road Trip Adventure / Gadget racer videos.. I ordered road trip and this game on ebay after stumbling across your road trip videos, can't believe I didn't play know about these games as a kid.
The music and SFX in these games are *very* early 2000's Japan
5:58 its that orpheus the black bus that given his body from road trip adventure?
Orphe is just shortened Orpheus, and both are swimming around, so I'd say so
yeah there's even president forest in this european gadget racers game, he's somewhere in noise city
@@yod7934 same body type as he appear in road trip adventure?
@@revichairindra yes
There is no steering upgrade in this game. better engine makes you steer quicker for some reason.
Are u telling me that when i complete road trip adventure i can play this as well, love it
Love how every time you post a new video you are always at the top of my main page
(Still expect 100k subs from you by the end of september)
You know what Gadget Racers remind me of? Another PS2 racing game called Choro Q. That game was just odd- and then i would go back to Micromachines V4 on the PS2.
I recommend either.
They're all part of the same franchise. Choro Q is a toy brand and all the games are based on it
That pink body you got at the end looks like a 2000s Renault Megane
Screaming at the screen for you to check the map in the pause menu as tracks you can access will flash yellow
1 minute and 40 in and Floob is already making someone fall in love
I'm saying this man is a magnet
I swear these games are so esoteric and obscure... they're so cool! You should play the US version called Gadget Racers (its a completely different game to this). I would argue that it's probably one of the most buttoned up game in the entire...franchise? It has the same physics, but is a level/circuit racer with a similar upgrade system, and racing series/leagues that can be unlocked via license tests. The tracks are interesting as well, they're all distinct. It is easily the version I am most familiar with, and is equally as strange and esoteric and obscure and strangely and deeply charming as every other ChoroQ game you've played so far.
This is the successor to Choro Hg2/Road Trip Adventure known as Choro Q HG3.
Now with HD Resolution
Also some of the Choro Q HG2 Characters are returned but in Different names like Mien the Castrol Tom's Supra is now "Meen".
Also Your old teammate, Peo is now P.O like what does it "MEEN"? Does it MEEN Peo's Ovaries?
Unfortunately you can't have Teammates anymore
also Joussett isn't in this :<
I missed the T O E S currency from the previous game
Isn't this Choro Q HG 1?
Is he playing the Europe version?
@@SuryaBudimansyah Gadget Racers in Choro Q HG1 is in North America while Gadget Racers in HG3 is in Europe
@@KamataArushi410 So what version is he playing in the video?
@@SuryaBudimansyah Europe
I was hoping for part 6 but this is okay also
How about trying Downhill Domination, or any of the SSX ?
I thought the duck building's ornament looked like the EDF energy mascot Zingy
Love the channel mate! Did you ever play the Destruction Derby games? Or more recently Wreckfest?
Absolutely gem. A well done sequel to road trip
Asian Miracle music goes hard
This was the first forza horizon fr
Wheres the next road trip adventure?
Penny gadget or choro for ps2 is a genious game
In ps1 is weak but it is a good game too
it's just unfortunate this one has more closed out routes than the other one.
I had a similar time in this game as well
I might try this one as well
Duck Car 2:38
Road trip adventure with better visual
Why are there so many ''mini cars games'' and i've never seen them
I do miss the choro q games and I do believe there is a market for a modern remake of one. Undoubtedly it would be half effort and full of micro transactions but it’s nice to reminisce
Castrol Supra 3:44
596 views in 2 hours bro fe... I mean keep it up!
MicroMachines
This is SSOOOH strange.
good job floobert
If this is supposed to be the sequel to Road Trip Adventure, I'd advise you to finish that game first
Gran Turismo 4 Mentioned 8:31
Gadget Racers Europe PS2 Version 0:02
19:13 I'll tell you. 43 seconds is IMPOSSIBLE. Because EU versions got a lower framerate than the Japanese version, which means slower game speed. Therefore, under 43 seconds is only possible in Japanese version.
I play Japanese version over 20 years and I own a copy of EU version, and I can definitely say, translation in EU version is TERRIBLE. IT'S ABYSMALLY BAD!
And 43 seconds to beat one, is one instance on bad localization. Localization team didn't change Nikozo's quote to appropriate times for EU version without realizing about framerate on EU version.
Here are actual times you have to beat on Nikozo's stupid game shop.
Speed Boat : 0:44.30
Balloon Hover : 1:12.00
Jungle Heli : 1:12.00
Let's Side Jet : 0:34.65
Balloon Hover and Jungle Heli under 1 minute are possible enough on EU version. Let's Side Jet under 28 seconds is impossible unless you use secret trick (no cheat. I have a proof if you need) on EU version. But Speed Boat under 43 seconds is impossible no matter how I tried.
17:49 "Race that took 3 flags to do but actually being easiest one so far"
Because you got an Engine +1. Engine +1 drastically increases acceleration, top speed and also TURNING SPEED.
Only Normal Engine got a slower turning speed. That's how this game works and its really weird.
If you're planning to continue this game but got stuck or something, feel free to reply me, so I can give you a tip.
But regardless, here's one tip all HG3 players have to know. Use wheelie on straight, when you can't have high speed due to lack of tire grips (especially on ice and snow).
Tire grips will drastically increased while you're doing wheelie, but with exchange of ability to turn.
Nice Video ! Sub & Big Like ! And Love Retro Ps2 Games !
hmmmm not feelin it
Gadget racers? That sound's like a slur.
AAAAHHHH IM ALWAYS LATE!!! ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I Can't Jump 6:53
The idea is creative, but the gameplay looks rather mediocre. The video game adaptations of Cars also had sentient vehicles and have more personally than what I'm seeing here.
roadtrip adventure is better than this.in my opinion
These games are amazing. I need them to be put on PS4/5 😂. Loving these videos bro.
