That second game really shows the difference of a one trick pony playing at a high level and the goat/an actual pro player. Knowing whats coming there was not the slightest chance for Hoang there. Also Hoang didnt change anything about his strategy to adapt.

Playing the same civ + map + mode is not odd,
There was a whole Alt F4 drama over people not getting to pick the one map they wanted to play.
Still happens but it's a bit more tedious
Now they just whine and bitch in the lobby, and play like a 300 ELO player so you either get insta rolled or they quit halfway to feudal.
We vietnamese still play the firsr AoE version. The community are quite active with lots of tournament and betting scandals. Hoang were just a fews that decided to move on.
