He did an interview on a podcast, he uses card cheating techniques rather than magic tricks which basically means it's much much harder to detect and looks good from all angles. Also he's had many years of experience and is extremely good at tracking, probably one of the greatest of all time. The same techniques he uses have been used by actual grifters in casinos.

I figured it out, there is no “trick” he actually has a photographic memory and is memorizing the entire deck when he spreads it. That alone is already impressive but hes also a math wizard and is tracking all 52 changes to locations doing algorithmic shuffles with perfect precision. If i see you in poker room I’m running sir!
Take a regular deck, shuffle three times, cut, then deal four aces from the top. THE CATCH: if you appear smug at any point, you lose.

Shuffle a few times, split the deck about halfway placing each pile about shoulders width apart on the table in front of you.
Roll a d6, evens you take the pile on your right, odds the one on your left. Don't touch the other pile at all.
Shuffle X times & deal trip X off the top or bottom where X was the result of the die roll.
I won't pay you anything but I'll be very impressed & show the video to my three year old.
