This year I’ve been specifically trying to read fantasy books rooted in non-western traditions, which has been cool. Some of my favorites have been Kaikeyi, the Jasmine Throne, Daughter of the Moon Goddess, the Bird King, and To Shape a Dragon’s Breath. I’m also making my way through the Dragonriders of Pern series, which is always a favorite but holy crap are there a lot of them 😭
I'm currently reading The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, and Victor Hugo fr cooked with some scenes. I can only describe them as cinematic. Claude Frollo is such a well-written character that I'm kind of rooting for him. 😳
