What about Gone with the wind & The Wizard of Oz? Casablanca? The list goes on. To be fair, this one isn't very good. The acting is terrible. But the use of animals is great.

This is the clearest version I have ever seen the colors I have never seen before even 50 years ago didn't look this clear the remastered version is like being there in person as they were filming what a beautiful world we once lived in.

Sabu never got to appear in a film made in his native country. In 1963, he made a comeback to Hollywood with a supporting role in Rampage opposite Robert Mitchum. He played another supporting role alongside Brian Keith in the Disney film A Tiger Walks. This would turn out to be his final role as he died three months before the film was released." I bought the "digitally restored version" of this on dvd years ago and when I watched it was so dark it was almost unwatchable. I am amazed to see such a great version of this movie uploaded on youtube.

I agree! This was and still is my favorite childhood movie. This is such a wonderful treasure. Sabu was my first celebrity crush. And who doesn't love the stories by Rudyard Kipling!?! This has been so much fun reliving this magnificent old movie. I think I must have revealed my age. 🙃❤
Sabu was an amazing actor. He was found I think in Malasia and was working with elephants. They needed a kid actor for "Elephant Boy" a 1938 black and white film. The movie going world fell in love with this amazing boy. He was in "Gunga Din", "Thief of Baghdad" made around the same time as "Jungle Book", and that film is noted for it's amazing non CGI model work. Check that film out as it is just stunning, considering when it was made. This is a beautiful print. We have a VHS, but it is dark & hard to watch. The colors pop in this one. Thanks for posting.

This is the clearest looking upload of this movie I've seen. I used to watch this on an old VHS, but there were no captions (and I don't think the audio quality was as good), so I never understood all the words for the song at 19:00. Thank you! 😃
When my mom brought home this VHS, I was so angry because it wasn’t Disney. This is by FAR my favorite version!! I read the actual book, and though it deviates from the story, this follows the story overall the closest! I love how Mowgli fights and kills Lungri as opposed to using the buffalo.
The closest? How? The original follows Mowgli's interactions with the animals the most, with humans only getting more focus in the latter stories. This is just the opposite extreme of what Disney did, by putting the focus on the humans.
@@daliborjovanovic510 If you read it, you'd know the first part is Mowgli's brothers, where he DOES spend a lot of time in the jungle. This starts basically at the end of the Disney's version where he spends more time with man. Disney refuses to admit Kaa is a good guy because he's a snake. Every version they do they double down on being wrong. This version goes to the cold lair and we meet the great white cobra. That's in the book. Letting the jungle in by the elephants, that's also in the book. So is Buldeo. Since Disney made up Louie and made Kaa a villain and Hathi a buffoon, they're hardly accurate. If you want a more complete visual version, watch Chuck Jones' "Mowgli's Brothers" then watch this.

My Grandma bought me the VHS for me when I was a kid in the 80s as I loved the Disney version. It looks much better here than the VHS.
I think it’s a Mandela Effect- I’ve been seeing tons of black and white movies that are now in luscious color.

I first watched this when I was 5 years old in 1995. The soundtrack here is just awesome.
