So here is the big Chun Li guide! Got everything you need from easy to advanced and full of timestamps cause it's mad long(and like for timestamps!). Chun is CHUN LI ONE OF GAMINGS MOST SIGNATURE CHARACTERS and that's reason enough to play her but she's also pretty fun so that's good too
I've wanted to learn chun for a while now but just never knew where to start because of all the patches since launch making older guides obsolete. Thank you for putting this out.
The only Chun changes that were significant enough to change the stuff covered in guides are 5hp being safe and more spamable in neutral and 5hk having higher scaling when used to start a combo making 2HP a better meterless dp punish starter.
These always take forever and a day to make so enjoy it or else!!! After the cotw announcement it made me realize Chun is weird and hard in sf6 and there's not many good resources so I decided to become the resource. Maybe one more sf6 char guide in the future? Maybe...
I've been practicing with Chun for a little while, I had NO IDEA that you didn't need to do charge inputs once in stance mode. I've been making it difficult for myself for no damn reason 🤣. Thank you for this.
For people who struggle with the charge for bird kick in combos, you can option select lightning legs if you haven't held long enough. Start holding down and do the input for a half circle forward ending at up. You'll get bird kick if you have charge, and lighting legs if you don't
All right bro. I needed something to watch while I'm on the treadmill for the next 30 minutes, but I think I might just stay here until the video's done. If you can put in the effort to give us these kinds of videos on a almost daily basis, I can at least get off my ass while I enjoy them
I can only do something like this every now and then though. Not every vid has to be about the clicks, but I can't put days of effort into vids like this that I know wont get big returns often. That said though, happy to be a resource for a character without much out there.
Thank you so much. I got the game over the summer sale, picked Chun-Li as my first character, and I've hit a wall in Gold. This was a great opportunity to review and reconsider my psychology.
I climbed into gold by spamming DR 2MK > heavy legs, and I broke into plat by swapping to DR 2MK > 214P~LK > 28MK. After the medium SBK, you get an autotimed DR 3HP overhead that's both meaty and drive rush enhanced (+8oH/+5oB). Doing 4HP after is both a combo on hit and a frametrap on block. No one in gold blocked the overhead, so that sequence was pretty much a free 40% for 2 drive bricks.
Amazing video! I didnt just learn about chun li but I feel like I finally understand frame data! Also despite the 1.5h video lenght, you were concise, spoke in a very understandable way and I never felt bored watching. good job!
This is a nicely presented guide. I love how these kind of guides are out here now for both new and old players. Chun Li is the first character I ever played in a fighting game. I graduated HS in 1991, and our class went to a water park for our party. I was fat then, and self-conscious about it, so instead of water slides I went to the arcade. All the games were free, and I was the only one there. I played SF2 the entire night, using only Chun Li, and it took me almost until dawn to actually beat the damn game. Anyway, I'm glad guides like this are out there now: learning on your own is great, but having a foundation of knowledge to start from is better. I look forward to the next one.
Wow this is an amazing guide. I've been playing Chun li since launch and I'm still bad with her but with your guide, I'll definitely improve, thank you so much.
YOOO thanks for putting forth the effort to make updated guides, this is just what I needed at the exact right time!
