A trip up Mount Teide is worthwhile and you're pretty close. They do have a cable car so you don't have to hoof it right up the mountain and some of your viewers might like to see more of the island. Fabulous views from the mountain - clouds permitting of course. A lot of years ago we stayed at Los Gigantes and had great weather - but it was September. Lovely, quiet and clean resort at the time. x
Spain including Islands you can often smell the vent pipes. Obviously the higher you are re apartments the worse it can be. Hoping new apartment is much better for you both 😊😊😊

The reception staff are really helpful, we had a higher floor room and i asked for a lower one thats why we were given ground floor. Glad you managed to get a better room, hopefully it wont be noisey. Hope the weather brightens up for you. Take care xx

We have had hailstones in Somerset .Thankyou for taking us along ,the selection of food is tremendous..Agreed Sharon my first ports of call is always the grill ,to see what they are freshly cooking, I think It depends whos on duty and their own specialityregards what they cook.I used to love the fresh poached eggs ,but I always took a fresh paper napkin into the que,as they dont seem to worry about draining them😊 Oh happy days room changed brilliant ,and well worth doing if your staying a while .,we had to do exactly the same one year change room ,yes upgraded ,we even got our band upgraded because of the inconvenience , let your holiday really begin now ,enjoy your day.

If you want counters like delicatessen etc in the uk the only place that still has them is Morrisons, i do love the meats you get over in the med, so nuch choice. The second room looked much better than the first
all waiters wear black trousers and white shirtsn in all the hotels. And even in summer, it is overcast until lunchtime, because it's on the north side of tenerife.
Do you have a tv in the room? If so there is a news program with weather, el tiempo, around 6pm. It usually rains more in the north. Those vents are just to let the steam out. They don’t have up vents for sewers. We built our house in Spain so know quite a bit about that. And by the way, Teide is the big volcano in Tenerife. Pronounced: T- like in tongs, E- like in engine, I- like in important,D- like in dutch, E- like engine.

Tyhis is typical weather fort the North are of Tenerife- somewhere near Puerto de la Cruz there s a village which is home to the Drogoneria tree - I haven't been since 1978 so you'll have to forgive the sloppy memory!! You used to see photos of this tree on souvenirs and postcards.
I guess it all depends what you want! Many many years ago we would buy late deals without knowing the ultimates destination on the island. If it were Puerto we'd jump in the car each day and drive to Los Christianos or nearby for the sun. Being much older and not wanting to be in the sun all day, Puerto is the ideal solution!

And the different changes of landscape on the way up. Cable car to get you to the very top where you walk on burnt lava.
It can be a lot colder up the mountain so wrap up if you are going.
