I know! Made me sad! Since they just moved to Cali and haven't had a lot of time to make new friends, there wouldn't be anyone there. With Darryl's family mostly in Michigan (I could go to a shower in Michigan no matter where in the state) and hers in Russia, makes it difficult. But, we are showing the love in the comments and selling out their baby list on Amazon. Hope she is feeling every hug and ounce of love we are sending!

As an expat mother living in a country that doesn't speak my native language I hope you will talk to your little one in Russian. Growing up bilingual is such a gift and it will help little one to not have any barrier in their interactions with grandparents. Good luck with this huge adventure!

Also! No one every wants to talk about this subject because it's a huge mood killer but I think it's important! I don't wish this for Maria or any new mom, but post-partum depression is very real and can effect anyone. Maria I hope you don't experience it but if you do please don't hesitate to talk to your husband and doctor! Blessings on your whole family! Wishing you only the best!
@Dawn Comics Those people judging you sound emotionally immature and voluntarily naïve to not recognize that people can feel negatively about their pregnancy and have differing opinions. I'm sure there are plenty of other women who feel or felt the way you do but they don't feel comfortable saying it because they get the same sort of judgmental reactions. I'm sorry you're having a hard time with your pregnancy and I hope you'll feel happy and relieved when you're baby is born.
@Dawn Comics Congrats on your pregnancy! I am pregnant with my 3rd and most women I know did not like being pregnant at all. There are so many terrible side effects, not even including miserable morning sickness. There is no need to pretend you feel good when you don't, but I do feel grateful for my fertility and lack of complications since many women go through a lot more emotionally than I have. My firstborn was colicky, which I had heard of, but didn't truly understand. That term gets thrown around like it's no big deal, but I had a clinically colicky baby, meaning she cried nonstop for at least 3 hours a day (usually almost the entire day) for her first 3-6 months of life. It was devastating and I was telling anyone who would listen how I frequently imagined smashing her head on things just to get it to stop. It got to the point I had to put her in a safe place and leave the apartment to take the dogs on a quick walk to get some peace. We told her pediatrician, who brushed it off because he had a magic touch and could get her to calm down, but in hindsight I should have gotten help. My guess is I surely had some type of depression, but fortunately continued to be able to think rationally and we never harmed her. My husband didn't deal well with it either. We had just moved and didn't have a good support system and we were living in a 1-br apartment. He questioned our decision to have kids, though we'd been married for 4 years and it was something we'd always wanted. We wondered how the teens coped if we were 30 and 34 when we became parents and were struggling so badly. It took us a few years to have another baby, and he was her polar opposite. His first cry when he was born was so loud the nurses commented and scared my husband into thinking we were having another colic monster. We're now expecting our third (surprise!) baby and despite all the discomforts of pregnancy, my biggest concern is her health and then the possibility of colic. My husband cannot stop commenting on what if she is colicky. I work from home and kept my kids home for 18 months each before starting part time day care, but I will not hesitate to enroll my newborn into full time care if she is colicky so I don't go insane. You have to look after yourself and make sure you are taken care of. Caring for a high needs newborn is so difficult, especially when it's your first and you have no idea what you're doing in the first place. I agree with the original poster - if you feel not quite right, get help right away! Thankfully they do questionnaires nowadays that I didn't have with my first. They screen for depression because it is more common than anyone realizes, postpartum or not. If your baby isn't easy and sleeping through the night at 8 or 12 weeks or whatever (my 2nd was up at least twice a night for an entire year), join an online moms group where you're not going to be mom-shamed and can get moral support. If you have trouble nursing, join La Leche League. Nobody tells you that nursing is HARD for most moms, especially the first 1-2 months. After that you find your groove and your supply evens out, but many women aren't prepared for that. I wasn't! I was told nursing the 2nd time around is less painful, so I got rid of my nipple shields that I needed with my 1st and then found out my 2nd had a lip tie that made latching extremely painful, but it can be fixed (as can tongue tie and other issues) if you reach out (lactation consultant). Whatever may come your way, know that you are not alone and there's nothing wrong with you. Do not be afraid to speak up and get help if needed. I wish you the best!

Your soothing voice and presence has helped me a lot with my anxiety, and has gotten me through many long nights breastfeeding my own babies with my patience and peace intact. hearing the word "pregnant" made my heart jump up to my nose and down to my toes and came to a halting stop in my chest again. congradulations to the most comforting lady on this planet! p.s. youre not complaining at all about the fires. I woke up in the middle of the night one night and i couldnt see 2 houses away, and at the time i was in the portland metro-area. i got really scared and it didnt completely clear out for 3 days. everything was red. i couldnt imagine how bad it is for you. I think being minimal is smart. People get so excited & swept up in everything and forget they are spending thousands on items they will use for maybe a year or two. Most second time mom’s are way more barebones because they know how quickly things go. Also all that white is nice because you can use stain remover or a tiny bit of bleach on them without worrying about the color. Congratulations!💖♓️

Congratulations on your pregnancy, that’s great news! My wife and I were surprised *very* early on in our relationship with a pregnancy...and it turned out to be twins! Our baby girls will actually turn 13 in February. That’s my warning to you: the time just FLIES. Enjoy each and every milestone & moment. Take care of yourself, take care of the little one, and tell your husband to take care of himself as well...it’s very easy to give too much of yourself to the baby and kind of forget about yourself & your spouse in a way. @Dawn Comics Those people judging you sound emotionally immature and voluntarily naïve to not recognize that people can feel negatively about their pregnancy and have differing opinions. I'm sure there are plenty of other women who feel or felt the way you do but they don't feel comfortable saying it because they get the same sort of judgmental reactions. I'm sorry you're having a hard time with your pregnancy and I hope you'll feel happy and relieved when you're baby is born.
@Dawn Comics Congrats on your pregnancy! I am pregnant with my 3rd and most women I know did not like being pregnant at all. There are so many terrible side effects, not even including miserable morning sickness. There is no need to pretend you feel good when you don't, but I do feel grateful for my fertility and lack of complications since many women go through a lot more emotionally than I have.
My firstborn was colicky, which I had heard of, but didn't truly understand. That term gets thrown around like it's no big deal, but I had a clinically colicky baby, meaning she cried nonstop for at least 3 hours a day (usually almost the entire day) for her first 3-6 months of life. It was devastating and I was telling anyone who would listen how I frequently imagined smashing her head on things just to get it to stop. It got to the point I had to put her in a safe place and leave the apartment to take the dogs on a quick walk to get some peace. We told her pediatrician, who brushed it off because he had a magic touch and could get her to calm down, but in hindsight I should have gotten help. My guess is I surely had some type of depression, but fortunately continued to be able to think rationally and we never harmed her. My husband didn't deal well with it either. We had just moved and didn't have a good support system and we were living in a 1-br apartment. He questioned our decision to have kids, though we'd been married for 4 years and it was something we'd always wanted. We wondered how the teens coped if we were 30 and 34 when we became parents and were struggling so badly.
It took us a few years to have another baby, and he was her polar opposite. His first cry when he was born was so loud the nurses commented and scared my husband into thinking we were having another colic monster. We're now expecting our third (surprise!) baby and despite all the discomforts of pregnancy, my biggest concern is her health and then the possibility of colic. My husband cannot stop commenting on what if she is colicky. I work from home and kept my kids home for 18 months each before starting part time day care, but I will not hesitate to enroll my newborn into full time care if she is colicky so I don't go insane. You have to look after yourself and make sure you are taken care of. Caring for a high needs newborn is so difficult, especially when it's your first and you have no idea what you're doing in the first place. I agree with the original poster - if you feel not quite right, get help right away! Thankfully they do questionnaires nowadays that I didn't have with my first. They screen for depression because it is more common than anyone realizes, postpartum or not.
If your baby isn't easy and sleeping through the night at 8 or 12 weeks or whatever (my 2nd was up at least twice a night for an entire year), join an online moms group where you're not going to be mom-shamed and can get moral support. If you have trouble nursing, join La Leche League. Nobody tells you that nursing is HARD for most moms, especially the first 1-2 months. After that you find your groove and your supply evens out, but many women aren't prepared for that. I wasn't! I was told nursing the 2nd time around is less painful, so I got rid of my nipple shields that I needed with my 1st and then found out my 2nd had a lip tie that made latching extremely painful, but it can be fixed (as can tongue tie and other issues) if you reach out (lactation consultant). Whatever may come your way, know that you are not alone and there's nothing wrong with you. Do not be afraid to speak up and get help if needed. I wish you the best!

Awwww, I teared up when you started hugging the onesie. My mother passed away earlier this year (in March), and it makes me so happy to see your happiness. All my mother wanted was children and she talked about my brother and I all the time. I'm so happy to see this announcement. And sad, too. You know :)

I think being minimal is smart. People get so excited & swept up in everything and forget they are spending thousands on items they will use for maybe a year or two. Most second time mom’s are way more barebones because they know how quickly things go.
Also all that white is nice because you can use stain remover or a tiny bit of bleach on them without worrying about the color.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, that’s great news! My wife and I were surprised *very* early on in our relationship with a pregnancy...and it turned out to be twins! Our baby girls will actually turn 13 in February. That’s my warning to you: the time just FLIES. Enjoy each and every milestone & moment.
Take care of yourself, take care of the little one, and tell your husband to take care of himself as well...it’s very easy to give too much of yourself to the baby and kind of forget about yourself & your spouse in a way.
Make time for yourselves. Stay happy. Stay healthy. Stay connected.

Around the seven minute mark when you started talking about being someone who provides emotional support and affection I swelled with love for you because I really feel that you express that in your videos. More than any other creator out there you seem so kind hearted and genuine, and watching your videos both vlogs and asmr puts me at peace because of all the love you radiate.
