Agreed. He is the most sensible choice. Others are just caught up with Jojo and Sun Oh’s chemistry especially his looks which I find shallow. Hye Yeong is an ideal guy in real world. One who puts your happiness before his, one who understands and patiently waits, one who respects your choices and the one where you are most at peace and secure. I’m glad that it didn’t turn out to be the typical Kdrama ending. I was more than satisfied with it.

It looks like Season 2 will favor the webtoons as it should be in my opinion. People who know how it will end will be "satisfied" based on the webtoons. Those who are purely watching for "something more," or a different ending, I can see why people want Sun-Oh to be the person for JoJo. I can see your sympathy regarding this since 3/4 if not all 6/7 of 8 episodes resolved around Sun-Oh loving JoJo. This portrayed Sun-Oh as the person JoJo would love and relates the most to many viewers. Because Hye-Young did not get much focus or screen time in entering in JoJo's life like Sun-Oh did (was done intentionally for season 2), viewers have garnered Sun-Oh as the perfect match since it was her first love and how it ended for both of them being unfair. JoJo: -Felt a connection with Sun-Oh before she even met him in school. -Her true first love was definitely Sun-Oh -She had a boyfriend (IISik) at the time and still pursued Sun-Oh. She did break up with previous boyfriend so that she could pursue Sun-Oh. -Was not too sure of herself to initiate feelings for Sun-Oh until she could confirm it with Love Alarm, after that, she definitely starts loving Sun-Oh as she can't believe she matched him. -Became too scared of the thought of losing someone she loves and ended her relationship with Sun-Oh. She ended this because Sun-Oh can become "reckless" when it comes to love and does not care for consequences. Major event being the motorcycle accident. She resorts to not wanting any relationships for the remainder of high school years. -After 4 years since break-up, she meets Hye-Young accidently/coincidently in university library. -Is shocked that Hye-Young loves her but does not expect anything from her and wants happiness for her and be herself. -Realizes she doesn't need Love Alarm to feel loved or wanting to love someone after meeting Hye-Young. - In Webtoons, Jojo’s Love Alarm shield is removed by DukGu as a “gift” and rings Hye- Yeongs Love Alarm while it doesn’t ring Sun-Oh’s. Surprisingly, Sun-Oh ends up ringing Yukjo’s love alarm and Yukjo's for him. Sun-Oh: -He is Direct and makes the first move on JoJo knowing Hye-Young liked her first. - He shows loving affection for JoJo and actively expresses it. -Connected with JoJo and shared vulnerabilities with each other. -Always supports JoJo in regards to wanting to solve all her problems immediately -He can relate to JoJo because both have traumatic childhoods regardless of background. - Carefree and arrogant -Insecure -Extremely Love Alarm reliant for reassurance of love. -Deeply loves her even after 4 years even after how heartlessly JoJo broke up with him. -Can be seen as too clingy and high self-esteem -Has a new girlfriend (Yukjo) after 4 years but still loves JoJo. -Very supportive of Hye-Young (until he finds out Hye-Young is pursing JoJo). -Actually ends up with Yukjo in webtoons. His Love Alarm rings for Yukjo. This can be said that because he may genuinely start to feel something for his girlfriend who shows him affection. He is happy being with Yukjo. This is a sign for him to move on with his life and wants to see JoJo happy. Hye-Young: -Mature and continues to mature after 4 years. -Non Love Alarm reliant and prefers old school love. -Did not make the first move on JoJo since he knew she already had a boyfriend (IlSik) and wanted to wait. -Has patience -Loves JoJo from afar. He was passive during his high school years and that actually was his mistake for waiting too long to ask JoJo out. -Respected JoJo's decision to love Sun-Oh. -Very supportive of Sun-Oh. -Waited for Sun-Oh and JoJo to break up to start courting JoJo. -Loves JoJo knowing she doesn't feel that way about him and does not expect anything from her. -Wants to show her happiness. -Wants to solve JoJo problems gradually and at the level JoJo understands versus Sun-Oh who wants to solve them all "overnight" because...he's rich. -Understands JoJo more than Sun-Oh despite how people have seen season 1. Sun-Oh only knows how to love JoJo. It would also go against the whole point of the show and webtoons. The point of the show, I feel is to tell us that we should love naturally, and not use Love Alarm to test our love. Sun-Oh represents the Love Alarm itself, and Hye-Young represents the natural part of love. The show is depicting how everyone is relying so heavily on the app, that it's killing the natural course of love and how people used to flirt. Seems like with the app, you don't even need to do the in-between anymore. One way or another, if Netflix takes a different approach, I honestly don't care who JoJo ends up being with. Yes my choice would be definitely for Sun-Oh but realistically it will end up being Hye-Young.
Okey so I love Sun-oh with all my heart, he was so sweet and just wanted love, but the best option (in my opinion) for Jojo would be Hye-young. The series at first is always reminding you how much Sun-oh cares about love alarm, as if he needs it to really confirm their love. Then you see that Hye-young doesn't really care about it, because he knows that his feelings are true and that's all that matters. Since the beginning you see that Sun-oh got all that he wanted (except love). He started having interest in Jojo because he saw that she couldn't have her so easily as the rest of things. He was curious. But in his behavior you can see that he acts like a kid, just wanting to have all that he wants. Also, Hye-young was in love with Jojo way before Sun-oh, but when Sun-oh came and saw him interested in her he gained interest as well. It's like Sun-oh just wanted to see Hye-young's reaction if he took away something that he loved. Sun-oh didn't think about Hye-young's feelings, all he cared about was that he liked her. And even after Sun-oh started dating Jojo, Hye-young didn't mention again that he still liked her and just let them be together because he didn't want to intrude in their relationship, he was a GOOD FRIEND and putted their friendship before a girl, something that Sun-oh didn't do. When they had the accident Hye-young still talked with Jojo about Sun-oh and tried to help her to keep contact with him. Then time passed and Hye-young found Jojo again. Now he was more mature, and he was ready to pursue her love. He treated her well and just wanted her to feel loved without nothing in return. What was Sun-oh doing at that time? He was dating a girl who he didn't love. She did love him and waited for him to "sort out his feelings", but he knew that he still loved Jojo and didn't break up with his girlfriend knowing that. He just kept pretending without doing anything, as if something was going to change by itself. This is why I think that the most sane relationship for Jojo would be with Hye-young. By saying all this I'm not trying to hate on Sun-oh, in fact I still ship him with Jojo and I feel really bad for him because I understand what he has been through, but this is what I think objectively. -She had a boyfriend (IISik) at the time and still pursued Sun-Oh. She did break up with previous boyfriend so that she could pursue Sun-Oh.
-Was not too sure of herself to initiate feelings for Sun-Oh until she could confirm it with Love Alarm, after that, she definitely starts loving Sun-Oh as she can't believe she matched him.
-Became too scared of the thought of losing someone she loves and ended her relationship with Sun-Oh. She ended this because Sun-Oh can become "reckless" when it comes to love and does not care for consequences. Major event being the motorcycle accident. She resorts to not wanting any relationships for the remainder of high school years.
-After 4 years since break-up, she meets Hye-Young accidently/coincidently in university library.
-Is shocked that Hye-Young loves her but does not expect anything from her and wants happiness for her and be herself.
-Realizes she doesn't need Love Alarm to feel loved or wanting to love someone after meeting Hye-Young.
- In Webtoons, Jojo’s Love Alarm shield is removed by DukGu as a “gift” and rings Hye- Yeongs Love Alarm while it doesn’t ring Sun-Oh’s. Surprisingly, Sun-Oh ends up ringing Yukjo’s love alarm and Yukjo's for him.
Sun-Oh:
-He is Direct and makes the first move on JoJo knowing Hye-Young liked her first.
- He shows loving affection for JoJo and actively expresses it.
-Connected with JoJo and shared vulnerabilities with each other.
-Always supports JoJo in regards to wanting to solve all her problems immediately
-He can relate to JoJo because both have traumatic childhoods regardless of background.
- Carefree and arrogant
-Insecure
-Extremely Love Alarm reliant for reassurance of love.
-Deeply loves her even after 4 years even after how heartlessly JoJo broke up with him.
-Can be seen as too clingy and high self-esteem
-Has a new girlfriend (Yukjo) after 4 years but still loves JoJo.
-Very supportive of Hye-Young (until he finds out Hye-Young is pursing JoJo).
-Actually ends up with Yukjo in webtoons. His Love Alarm rings for Yukjo. This can be said that because he may genuinely start to feel something for his girlfriend who shows him affection. He is happy being with Yukjo. This is a sign for him to move on with his life and wants to see JoJo happy.
Hye-Young:
-Mature and continues to mature after 4 years.
-Non Love Alarm reliant and prefers old school love.
-Did not make the first move on JoJo since he knew she already had a boyfriend (IlSik) and wanted to wait.
-Has patience
-Loves JoJo from afar. He was passive during his high school years and that actually was his mistake for waiting too long to ask JoJo out.
-Respected JoJo's decision to love Sun-Oh.
-Very supportive of Sun-Oh.
-Waited for Sun-Oh and JoJo to break up to start courting JoJo.
-Loves JoJo knowing she doesn't feel that way about him and does not expect anything from her.
-Wants to show her happiness.
-Wants to solve JoJo problems gradually and at the level JoJo understands versus Sun-Oh who wants to solve them all "overnight" because...he's rich.
-Understands JoJo more than Sun-Oh despite how people have seen season 1. Sun-Oh only knows how to love JoJo.
It would also go against the whole point of the show and webtoons. The point of the show, I feel is to tell us that we should love naturally, and not use Love Alarm to test our love. Sun-Oh represents the Love Alarm itself, and Hye-Young represents the natural part of love. The show is depicting how everyone is relying so heavily on the app, that it's killing the natural course of love and how people used to flirt. Seems like with the app, you don't even need to do the in-between anymore.
One way or another, if Netflix takes a different approach, I honestly don't care who JoJo ends up being with. Yes my choice would be definitely for Sun-Oh but realistically it will end up being Hye-Young.
Okey so I love Sun-oh with all my heart, he was so sweet and just wanted love, but the best option (in my opinion) for Jojo would be Hye-young. The series at first is always reminding you how much Sun-oh cares about love alarm, as if he needs it to really confirm their love. Then you see that Hye-young doesn't really care about it, because he knows that his feelings are true and that's all that matters.
Since the beginning you see that Sun-oh got all that he wanted (except love). He started having interest in Jojo because he saw that she couldn't have her so easily as the rest of things. He was curious. But in his behavior you can see that he acts like a kid, just wanting to have all that he wants.
Also, Hye-young was in love with Jojo way before Sun-oh, but when Sun-oh came and saw him interested in her he gained interest as well. It's like Sun-oh just wanted to see Hye-young's reaction if he took away something that he loved. Sun-oh didn't think about Hye-young's feelings, all he cared about was that he liked her. And even after Sun-oh started dating Jojo, Hye-young didn't mention again that he still liked her and just let them be together because he didn't want to intrude in their relationship, he was a GOOD FRIEND and putted their friendship before a girl, something that Sun-oh didn't do.
When they had the accident Hye-young still talked with Jojo about Sun-oh and tried to help her to keep contact with him. Then time passed and Hye-young found Jojo again. Now he was more mature, and he was ready to pursue her love. He treated her well and just wanted her to feel loved without nothing in return.
What was Sun-oh doing at that time? He was dating a girl who he didn't love. She did love him and waited for him to "sort out his feelings", but he knew that he still loved Jojo and didn't break up with his girlfriend knowing that. He just kept pretending without doing anything, as if something was going to change by itself.
This is why I think that the most sane relationship for Jojo would be with Hye-young. By saying all this I'm not trying to hate on Sun-oh, in fact I still ship him with Jojo and I feel really bad for him because I understand what he has been through, but this is what I think objectively.
