I read where The U.S Marine Corps promoted Gomer Pyle to Corporal rank. He is awesome! Many great memories and laughter. Sgt Carter is awesome too as he seems to bear the brunt of incidents!
Sgt Carter was victim of Pyle's shenanigans but was promoted to Gunny because of Pyle also. Gomer also was grandson of Admiral Pyle according to Sheriff Andy Taylor.
I love these episodes because they really show the absolute hilarious side of things. I have a lot of respect for The U.S Marine Corps having served with them in 2nd Marine Division as a soldier repairing Bradley Fighting Vehicles. They only had the LAV -25 Vehicles. I was proud to be of service so they could take the fight to Saddam Hussein Republican Guard. Ooorah Go Marines! First to Fight!.I proudly own a USMC K-BAR FIGHTING KNIFE. OOORAH !
After boot I was in A-School Pensacola and trained with Navy and Marines. Took a little getting used too them Marines. I, along with two other squids, was in a 3 month class with 27 Marines straight out of Boot. PT'ed with them and before you know it I was friends with all and they were very accepting of me and treated me like one of them. Devil Dogs are some of the best people who serve us and better soilders. Whenever you have more than 2 marines in you presence, you are either dead or rescued.
Sgt Carter and Miss Bunny were husband and wife in real life.

I dont believe that Gomer Pyle would've been as successful if not for the supporting cast, especially Frank Sutton ( Sergeant Carter ).
Sgt Carter was born for the role and when he first made an appearance in the Andy Griffith episode he was locked up with the job. His laughing and cocky attitude along with thinking he's the gift for the women is hilarious. But the voice "Move it"". "I can't hear you!"
Frank Sutton was ex military and had it down pat. Plus his comedic timing was unmatched.

The doctor has captain's bars on his collar and introduces himself as "lieutenant" when he answers the phone....sorta sums up the absolute childish stupidity of this show....Oy vay! 😱🤡
