Due to translation choices, the protagonists didn’t call them onigiri, they called them doughnuts.

Similar to 3- corner kimbap/ 삼각김밥. Although it’s a fresh item, it does keep the dried seaweed from moist rice until you pull a couple of tabs, the package comes away, and you have a simple snack. Clever packaging and good too, as long as you can figure out what’s in them. I had a painfully spicy one when I couldn’t read Korean. 🌶 I think you can buy just the packaging to make your own.

Well, dang, you caused a run on these ... I can't find them anywhere on the Internet (at least not in English, and that ships to America without costing an arm and a leg).

Try searching おにぎり 保存食 on amazon.co.jp. They have an English version of the site so you might be able to find someone who ships outside of Japan.

I’ve been to Japan a couple times and rice balls and bottled green tea from drink machines are the best. Also Ramen. I miss it.

When ever I got to NYC, I always have to stop at the little cafe in Kinokuniya and get the shrimp tempura onigiri. It's so good!

Good evening Emmy! I have been waiting all day, lol. One of my kids favorite snacks in Okinawa was onigiri with tuna. We would go to Lawson’s and I would let them get one for their lunch. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks Emmy!
