I love how a culture’s emergency meals kind of tell you about their favorite meals. In America you’re likely to find chilis and macaroni and cheese, and in Japan, you get Onigiri!
When I lived in Tokyo, I was always impressed at the thought put into the packaging in so many of the convenience foods that were easy to make and very inexpensive.
@@bongwater95 I meant only that she speaks with thought. Not like someone who is content when their work is done in a way that is good 'enough'. Also, was speaking of her whole show. Not a word such as bland. Not criticizing you.

Oh, Onigiri you're the one for me!!🥺 This is honestly amazing, I used to spend my free time making Onigiri by hand for my 6 year old brother my last year of high school before I left for the Marine Corps and it would take hours lol but I wanted him to be happy and know that I love him. I left some ingredients behind and my sister who is 3 years younger than me continued making him the Onigiri on Fridays 🥰
For people who watched early Pokemon anime, the protagonists regularly ate onigiri. Due to translation choices, the protagonists didn’t call them onigiri, they called them doughnuts. However, they never changed the onigiri to reflect the changes. ... I was a sad tomato when I realized doughnuts didn’t come in that shape.
You don't have to be a sad tomato! I'm sure you can make a homemade jelly doughnut in the shape of a triangle. To imitate the rice texture, I'd suggest replacing the powdered sugar of the jelly doughnut with shredded coconut! ;)
