TheSageCommander I have a question for u thumb bass owners.. I am thinking of getting a 5 string bolt on neck one (preowned) just for fun. I want one after watching all these videos. But my uncle who has a proper Fender 80s jazz bass, says This Warwick is no good and that it sounds twangy and thin, and has neck dive, lousy shape and also dont have any resale value. IS this all true?? As a guitar player i want the bass to play some nice ub40 reggie lines and the bass line of Time after Time (cindy lauper)
***** He is right about the value not holding well, which will make it easier to find one cheap on the used market. The balance is a bit more "horizontal" than some basses, but not overly neck heavy with a good grippy strap. The thumb can sound punchy and deep, but in the wrong hands can also sound thin and trebly...unfortunately there are a lot of "wrong hands" on youtube.
best demo i've seen of one of these. 1:58 is bliss.
Crazy, even with flats Warwick still has that growl
These aren't flatwounds :)
Great bass! %)
We also think so!!
Thank you!
If you can, get a Mogami Platinum cable for your Thumb. You wont regret it. :) ( I also have a Thumb NT5 )
What is "Midori Platinum cable"?
Perhaps, isn't it Mogami?
Yes, so sorry for the typo. I also have a Monster Studio Pro 1000 cable and I think that the Mogami Platinum cable sounds a little bit better.
we'll try and upload videos with Mogami next month or near future.
(We take about 20 videos every month)
Thanks!!
