Can I just say what a journey we and Uhtred have been on. Didn't have high expectations from this show but this is the best show I have ever seen, full stop. The characters, the story, the emotions just everything was top tier. The development of Uhtreds character from a young, inexperienced almost reckless warrior to an incredible warrior who has known suffering, being sold as a slave, seeing his friends and family die was the best character development I've seen by far, just amazing. But now I don't really know what to do, this was phenomenal, I feel like rewatching all of it again and you know what I probably will. But for now Uhtred, son of Uhtred, (and now I can finally say) Lord of Bebbanburg, destiny is all ⚔️

I really hated what did they do to this series. You can notice the decline in season 4. After that I lost interest. The first 3 season are a fucking masterpiece. But I agree the ending was good.

Crying my eyes out still after just watching the movie. This is by far the best show ever, and the movie wrapped it up beautifully ❤️ I will miss Uthred and the guys very much 😢
My only complaint is that I wish the movie was an entire season so it lasted longer 😭😭 It was so good! ❤❤
When I say I balled my eyes out at the end of Seven Kings must die, well Im not responsible for the flooding of the roads around me but it was close. My kids were laughing at me as I was sobbing my heart out at him laid on the battlefield I thought that was it, then he moved his hand in the cart I had hope, he walked through the door I was overjoyed although to be fair he looked a mess lol, but when the door opened and all that have died were sat around the table feasting I was shouting at him to shut the door and not go in yet just like I did in Gladiator, I knew it was the end of him and well Ive flooded the place balling my eyes out. Ive loved every single minute of The Last Kingdom and cried a thousand rivers at what Uhtred went through, I dont think any series has captivated me as much as this one.
Seriously this show is Iconic! Never has a show like the last kingdom touched my very soul I'm devastated it's over! 😭😭😭😭 Uhtred forever Iconic & your band of brothers a masterpiece of a show

I have no words!!!it has been an incredible journey!! So happy I found TLK ( and to say when it started I said" a copy of Vikings! ) How wrong I was !! From the first images of the Boy Uthred I was hooked!! What a great storyline...the Actors...love them all....the concept of the show....well everything!! Have watched many times ....enjoyed every time! It has been an HONOR been able to watch such a wonderful Series! Cried at the end of the movie....THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE!!!!

This is not right! I should not be here crying as a 50 year old man just watching this end again to the series but I am. What a fantastic series and end, off to watch the movie, now it's out.

I loved the movie. I think just because of how much detail they were able to get into with the series and episodes to me the movie felt a little rushed because it had so much to fit into just under 2 hours. I wish it could've been a couple more seasons, but the movie was really well done.

Have watched this series Three times! Absolutely love it, the acting is superb, a quality production. I actually had tears in my eyes when I saw king Alfred die, the scene was so good, an emotional journey for any viewer to behold!!

Just finished the movie and I have no words to express the sadness and joy of seeing Uhtred reaching Valhalla. He can finally see his family again.

We don't know whether Uhtred went to Valhalla at the end or not,left it ambiguous.
@@mktf5582 I think he would've gone to Valhalla sooner or later, judging by the fact the doors opened for him for a second. It's ambiguous whether he survived those battle wounds or not. That's what Finan says at the end.
I think the ambiguity is good. It's obvious he dies but he has been somewhat torn between two worlds/faiths and leaving it somewhat open ended reflects this nicely.
The real problem is that we haven't seen where he went! I think there's room for more! They need to make trilogy of these movies! I can't accept this as the end!
@@jorjevanelle9879 thats the thing though. I think this isn't meant to be THE end. It's more like a sidequest. Uhtred's arc was about recovering the home that was taken from him when he was a child. He fulfilled that at the end of the show.
I have watched every season at least 8 times,the characters,brilliantly portrayed by superb actors,our history woven together,I just love it,never tire of watching it ALL.

Film was a little disappointing but ah well, it's about the journey not the destination.
As a huge fan of the show, for me the movie wasn't something what Uhtred our lord or fans deserved! He deserved much more,so did we...It was extremely rushed and ended before it started. Finale needed at least trilogy of the movies. I'm very sad. Another epic show ending with a heartbreak. Season 5 ending felt more like the end than this. Gonna tell my kids there's nothing after Season 5 and Uhtred lived happily ever after. Movie finale left room for more imo, as he was standing in between. Please do more!!! DESTINY IS ALL
Just brilliant. So upset they are not going to make the rest of the book series. Even with the new movie it doesn't finish all of Bernard Cornwalls books😢.

Just finished the movie seven kings must die. They wrapped everything up beautifully and that final few minutes of the movie was extremely well done and emotional. Anyone who enjoyed the show will love the movie.

Seasons 1-3 were excellent, then a certain modern agenda started to creep in. Towards the end of Season 5, it was just painful to watch the parcel of obvious modern insertions that just stood out a mile, spoiling what was otherwise excellent. Then the Film came along, same writer as the problematic Seasons, and it soon turned into what felt like a male love story, with a hasty battle tacked onto the end. All that could be improved, no end, with some appropriate editing, and the result could be infinitely better and in keeping with the original quality.
agree that movie was down in quality, but I mean thats more netflix to blame as they were planning to film season 6, but they cut funding and practically the showrunners had to beg for this to make it possible. As for the "modern agenda", take it up with the book author as he is the one who made athelstan gay in the books, the show is just following source material. Though because the movie was so short and so much had to be fit in, there was no character development that made any decisions feel justfied. There was no breathing room, an event happened only to be followed by a bigger event. It's a shame, this show needed two more seasons atleast.
@@TimePlayerOfficial The tenuous historical implications are mere retrospective wishful thinking by the Film's progressive female writer, clearly just to fit a new narrative, and get modern funding that inevitably insists upon such things. There's nothing remotely conclusive to draw any such assumption. Likewise, what the original books' author implies in his dotage, is also fiction, because it's just drawing from the same agenda, for reasons best known to himself. Placing the first King of England into the bed of a pretend Monk, was neither necessary nor accurate. The intention was quite obviously to create a fiction that will inevitably be played, and replayed, to the young, who will think it's correct that the first King of England was, er, colourful. The Film was otherwise excellent, in places, but ruined by the above. Remove the agenda, and the Film would have been perfectly watchable, and re-watchable. It did not need that revisionism as the Film's central theme.

The film was 💩 No need to try make out the king was gay and as for the battle pathetic looked like a small skirmish and the english didn't have to retreat they crushed the combined Viking/Celtic army
Even though the movie was lacking alot I enjoyed it. The gay scenes was the worst and as you said the battle cannot be compared to an actual battle. The atmosphere felt off and fake maybe because of the music/editing but compared to the battle of season 1 of battles from "vikings" it falls short by 50 miles. Overall 7/10 on a good day. 6/10 normal rating
