Cork can be a match for anyone if they introduced unpredictability into their game like breaking the ball rather than catching it in the full forward line and midfield. Cork have never replaced Larry Tomkins to be honest at centre half forward. They have produced lively corner forwards and wing backs and catchers at midfield but failed to produce a great centre half forward.

There is no fight to get behind. There is no discrimination and this line of advertisement is unnecessarily emotive and creating untruths. Shouldn't be allowed to tell lies on national or any ads. Ladies Gaelic footballers are amatuers as are men. There is no pay inequality. Any attendence issues are about the product. By all means promote the sport for ladies and well done to Lidl for that in the past. I do myself. But don't label lower attendence levels as inequality as your missing the point if you do. Promote equality of opportunity....not outcome. Love the song.... the sex of the singer had no bearing on my support of it. Its a good song.

There is one God, who created Heaven and Earth. He made us in His image and likeness. He made us to worship and we chose to rebel against God. As a result we are seperated from God but God didn’t leave us. Instead God sent His one and only Son, His Son is Jesus. He was born of a virgin and lived a life without sin, though He was tempted in every way as we are. He went on the cross and He willingly took our sins past, present and future. Jesus died in my place for my sins, paying my debt to God and purchasing my salvation. Jesus died but He rose on the third day victory over satan, sin, demons and hell. Jesus tells us to share this story of the Good News and there’s a God that lovingly pursues us. Jesus is coming to judge the living and the dead and those who trust in God will forever be with Him in His Kingdom and those who do not will suffer forever in hell.

A light weight boxer couldn’t beat a heavyweight, but you wouldn’t say that lightweight is rubbish. Gaelic Games are indigenous to our country and we should be embracing and encouraging all to take part. You may have a daughter some day and you might like her to play GAA. I would never have looked at women’s gaa until my daughter started playing camogie, then I started taking her to inter county games. ( we’re from cork so at least we get to a few all Ireland’s!) I realised, pretty fast, that I enjoyed going the games. The daughters grown up and now living in Oz. I still go to games with my wife and a few of our friends. @@jerry-jerry1 you don’t have to like a sport, just a girl is playing it. I just get annoyed when people make assumptions about it without ever looking at it. I think female sports should receive the same constructive criticism as men’s - the players want that too. They don’t want to be patronised and have people saying things like “aren’t they great girls out there playing” No! There’s some great games and there’s some utterly terrible games. The greatest I was at in Croke park was the 2012 camogie final. Cork lost, but it such a terrific game with fabulous hurling that it’s still top of my list 12 years later. I absolutely detest the women who wine about the games being attended by smaller crowds and who don’t turn up themselves. I think this is what Lidls add is about. But I think a lot of men took it the wrong way and thought it was geared at them when the saw the word “inequality” Look at it this way: there’s nearly 80-90 camogie clubs in cork. Think of all those players, ex players, mentors, families etc. Cork played Down last year on Pairc ui Rinn, there was about 300 people there. There should have been thousands. Now I do concede that it was predicted to be a one sided game as Down just came up from intermediate recently. And it was just that. But if the cork hurlers were playing a team like Antrim, they would still get a big crowd in. The sport will never grow if people don’t attend. If you play yourself, you know there’s a bit of cost involved. The cost to run a county team to an all Ireland is massive. And if your own club can’t show there appreciation for one of their own for making a county team, how can you ask others?
Just to note: I done believe Croke park should be full of women on women’s finals day. And vice versa for men’s finals. That’s very restrictive if you’re gonna live by that mantra. When the Meath ladies win there first all Ireland 3 years ago, the hill was full of young people male and female and the players went down to celebrate with them. I thought it was a lovely sight, cos everyone was delighted that they had an Ireland. And sure let’s face it, they don’t win much in Meath 😉
