    Merry Christmas! I was just looking up videos like this. There is a Christmas in the Park day here locally where Colonial reenactors each have something to share. There’s even a tavern

    When Increase Mather called Christmas "an idolatrous observance of the heathen," he was referring to Catholics, who were just as bad as pagans to many Protestant sects.

      As well as Anglicans. Remember that the Puritans felt that the Church of England had allowed too much Catholic dogma to creep back in and saw Christmas only as a holiday rooted in paganism.
