Never ceases to amaze me the ease with which Anita reaches those notes. She doesn't strain, shout. or yell to get those notes out. It's as easy to her as speaking. God-given Voice
There’s an old old clip of Anita singing a duet with Hank Williams on RUclips. It’s truly amazing! SHE’S AMAZING!!! Johnny Cash always said, she had the voice to be a big star. But, Anita preferred singing with family and didn’t want to shine on her own. She did have a few really great singles…especially “Lovin’ Him Was Easier Than Anything I’ll Ever Do Again.” Also, SHE WAS GORGEOUS!!!
Anita is my all-time favorite bless it I have not heard a voice of her quality in years and years she is the blessed vocalist of the females and two of The Carter sisters
This is awesome. Pure talented voices giving it all. Today’s females think they have to reach higher notes and screaming to get to this level of pure harmony.... they wont until they calm and just sing.
Oh F...what a pure voice,it sounds like an angel's voice... Oh,i'm crying now.It makes me thinking about my unknown mom... Oh F...!😔😢😭😭😭 Greats talents, beautiful voices; Maybelle,Sarah and A.P would be so proud. It's their living and still strong legacy.Carter family FOREVER😘 A Frenchie fan... Kisses from France and take care😘
🌷Oh that "young" June Carter really cracks me up when on stage singing and being a comedian at the same time. She pulls her dress up on some of these songs & shows her Mother Maybelle's "home made pantaloons" she made for her & doesn't seem to think a thing about doing that on stage!.🙄.I would never have let my grown girls do a thing like that. But guess is part of her comic act tho she still did it some too as got older&...oh I love 💙her so much & she's a great singer too !😇🎶♥️🍀😇
What I like is that there are no screaming guitars, pedals, buttons, and other stuff to make you sound better than you are, something missing today in many, talent, pure and honest as it should be, nothing there to hide behind, you have it or you don't, they have it.
Tell me why this music is fresh and wonderful as the day this was recorded and the current crop of "music" fades to obscurity a year after it was in the top 40.
Right after Anita sings that high part at time stamp 3:24 you can see that June is impacted by that. She kind of bows her head and gulps, and glances at Anita with a look of concern. Helen notices that June does that too. Not sure what to make of that.
Yes! Judith Durham, Anita Carter, Mary Travers, and Mariska Veres are my favorite (female) singers. Linda Ronstadt and Karen Carpenter are/were awesome, too. I seldom hear other fans of Anita say they like Judith, so it was nice to read your comment!
The true tragedy of the Carter Family is the fact that June, Anita, and Helen are not included in the Country Music Hall of Fame even though they spent their lives locked in a trap being completely unable to pursue their own careers.
Anita Carter had the most beautiful voice in Country Music, but lacked the drive or hunger to be a superstar. Hard to know how far she could have gone...she was prettier than any of the great Country women (Tammy, Loretta, Patsy, Dottie, Dolly), but all the Carter daughters kind of played in the shadow of Mother Maybelle. Both Anita and Helen had great music talent---Helen as a musician and Anita as a vocalist, but June who was the least musical of the three managed to be the biggest star through sheer personality alone. Funny how that works.
Since she was 4 years old Anita loved singing with her family. That was more important to her than breaking away and being a superstar. She was a star that shined very brightly her whole life just listen.....
Don't sell June short. She was the performer of the family. Her vocal inventiveness and charisma influenced every female country singer who came after her.
If the bass isn’t right it the harmonies sound wrong, even if just for a moment. All musicians make live mistakes, hopefully rarely but thanks for pointing the out.
@@shortybeck1948 She stopped playing bass in the 1950s. It was never her instrument of choice. She played 12-string guitar for many years afterwards, then she played a gut-string guitar.
How beautiful. Anita should be on the hall of fame. No one will ever compare to Anita.
Never ceases to amaze me the ease with which Anita reaches those notes. She doesn't strain, shout. or yell to get those notes out. It's as easy to her as speaking. God-given Voice
My God , what a song ! Beautifully sung harmonies, and Anita’s voice brings tears to my eyes, she is just not of this world.

Love you Anita. Gods gift to the world
Lordddddd! Anita did it again! Man! I think she just touches my soul when she sings. Goodness! My heart is touched.
Yep! That's Anita!!! I'm always crushing on her. Bless them all!
She’s my all time female singer
Yes this family has been a blessing to us sll
The most beautiful rendition ever.
DEAR LORD HER VOICE IS UNBELIEVABLE
And just think that she was already in declining health at this point, no longer in her prime voice. She was a vocal marvel.
Anita voice of angel.
true
Anita is my all-time favorite bless it I have not heard a voice of her quality in years and years she is the blessed vocalist of the females and two of The Carter sisters
Definitely fabulous
She left too soon
The best rendition ever.
🌷I could listen to Anita's singing all day! A beautiful voice.💖🐦🎶. And this is the 1st time I knew Carlene is June's daughter.🎶💖.
She had the best voice out of the Carter family.
Anita Carter had the best voice of all the sisters, in my opinion.
This is awesome. Pure talented voices giving it all. Today’s females think they have to reach higher notes and screaming to get to this level of pure harmony.... they wont until they calm and just sing.
And maybe even keep their clothes on.

The Carter Family set the Standard for those to follow. Miss Anita, what a voice, eh.

She was aptly named "the Appalachian angel" for her beautiful voice .
Nothing like this country music. I would listen all the time if play that music

Beautiful, thanks 🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️
🌷so beautiful! 🎶💖
Beautiful singers, love Country ♥️🙏💯🌟👏👏👏👏👏
Not much wonder Cash said she had one of the most beautiful singing voices in music....he was right.
Anita had a beautiful voice.
The most beautiful singing of this song EVER!
Awesome greatest entertainment real country music 🎶
Great harmonies-thank you!
Wow!! They all have the pipes!!
So Beautiful , Anita has the voice of an Angel
Beautiful
Eine Stimme, die zu Herzen geht.
Anita has the voice of an angel
Amazing!
Anita la mejor voz de la musica country de todos los tiempos.
Amazing!!
LA MEJOR MÚSICA DEL MUNDOOO. .LEGENDARIO COUNTRY PATIÑO. .
Anita..what a voice
The fact they (Anita in particular) arent in the hall of fame just proves that hall has a big hole in it.
You got that right.
They should be!!!!

Je suppose par jalousie.
Singing in heaven now❤
Judith Durham, Linda Ronstadt, Karen Carpenter and of course Anita Carter... not all angels have wings.
Nana Mouskouri would make that list complete for me.
Yeah....agreed....but you missed two others Patsy, and Beverly Bivens of We Five.
Even though her career ended way too short.
Yes! Judith Durham, Anita Carter, Mary Travers, and Mariska Veres are my favorite (female) singers. Linda Ronstadt and Karen Carpenter are/were awesome, too. I seldom hear other fans of Anita say they like Judith, so it was nice to read your comment!
absolutely classic
the voice of an angel
Love Anita Carter
Carlene’s profile is that of her grandmama’s! She resembles Mother Maybelle, in my opinion.
The true tragedy of the Carter Family is the fact that June, Anita, and Helen are not included in the Country Music Hall of Fame even though they spent their lives locked in a trap being completely unable to pursue their own careers.
J adore. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Decency in the musical entertainment industry once existed during the 20th century.
Carter family is country gold and royalty
Fantastic
Bass player screwed up at 3:24. Helen looked back there like "Boy what are you doing?".
LOL! Helen played string bass from a young age!
If the bass isn’t right it the harmonies sound wrong, even if just for a moment. All musicians make live mistakes, hopefully rarely but thanks for pointing the out.
@@flautalee3090 Actually, Anita was the bass player in the family. She played bass till she was old enough to say 'I don't want to play bass anymore.'
@@peggymarsheck4926She played bass till rheumatoid arthritis got the best of her. It was still her instrument of choice, but point taken
@@shortybeck1948 She stopped playing bass in the 1950s. It was never her instrument of choice. She played 12-string guitar for many years afterwards, then she played a gut-string guitar.
Like four angels
Anita!
Anita. Yes.
💌
Anita makes my soul ache.
Très belle voie
Ich ziehe den Hut vor diesen Powerfrauen.
Poor Anita, she's the only one on stage that had to sit on a stool because of her Rheumatoid Arthritis.
You can't rate a "10" for she was at a pinnacle few achieve!
I've always liked EmMy Lou Harris, but I think she must have been inspired by these sisters.
I like Sara's version better but this is beautiful too
...............:)
Beautiful country songs dont make them like that any more
None like Anita
