I would love to speak with you. The blacksmiths shop was my great grandfather’s. Alvie is also the name of my son. I went there for reunions up until the early 80’s. Last time I visited was 2012. My grandmother’s house was still standing one street over from where you filmed.

I like the narration that you do on these historical locations in Texas. It Is not scripted, which is refreshing, since it makes the video seem more realistic - like a conversation. In this way it is like you are showing us around and makes it seem like you are telling us about places that you know in Texas. Most of them are towns and villages I have never heard of, which is really interesting!

petalgoth there are some people that still live in the grove. Not sure how many. I know they used to have a museum in one of the buildings but not anymore, and there was a sign that said private property but wasn’t sure if it just meant not to go into buildings so I videoed really quick. Didn’t see anyone while I was there.

Yes. There’s a few people who live there. They opened up the store for me and my wife when we came by in 2012. The Holcomb blacksmiths shop was my families. I ran around that shop as a little kid in the 70’s. My youngest son is named Alvie after him.
