Thanks! I had to do a drive up through Vermont because that was the last lower-48 state that I hadn't yet been to. Now it's just Alaska and Hawaii left for me.
Thanks! I will upload the trip back to Virginia from New Hampshire next in real time, then I will upload this video in real time over two videos after that.
One of my favorite features of these videos is the altitude indicator on the lower left. On this trip it seemed to be sluggish. Thanks for posting this. I didn't realize until recently that Mt Washington had taiga and alpine tundra at the top. Near the end with the foreground view and one of the nearby peaks it kind of looked like Colorado at the top of the Rockies. Comparatively speaking, Mt Washington is almost as tall at the Rockies compared to the surrounding countryside as the Rockies are compared to their surrounding countryside. It was quite interesting going from quaint New England towns to alpine tundra that looks a lot like the west, all in a very short amount of time.
It also surprised me to see that Mt. Washington's summit was well above the tree line. I agree that it reminded me very much of the Rockies, and, yes, Mt. Washington's prominence is about that of the average Rockies. The tree line in the Rockies, though, is about 11,000-12,000 feet. I guess the little bit of southern latitude makes a big difference.
@@unclecoolie I don't think it is quite being further south. If you look at a climate map of North America the colder arctic areas move steadily south as you get closer to the eastern edge of the continent. Plus, the top of Mt Washington is a miserable place to be. I live in Colorado at around 5700 feet and the climate is quite nice. Mt Washington is around 6600 ft and while a similar altitude in the Front Range of Colorado (SE of Parker, Castle Pines) is quite nice, Mt Washington is much colder and the buildings at the top are chained to the bedrock so they don't get blown off the mountain.
Thanks! I tried to avoid interstates, and I also wanted to go to Mt. Washington, and I wanted to drive through Vermont, as that was the last lower 48 state that I'd never been to. Overall, a great trip for me. Now I need to knock off Alaska and Hawaii.
Only halfway through, ( at 0.5 speed so it feels like real time ) but this would have to be my favourite trip that you have uploaded. All these back roads, small towns and sights. So much more interesting than miles upon miles of flat straight interstate. Would give it 100 upvotes if I could👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! I will likely be posting this in real time eventually, but I want to post videos from my recent trip to Kenya, as well as the hyperlapse of my NY-CA trip, first.
Between all the new videos of channels we've subscribed to, there is this one single piece that strikes out. As always, I will keep this for my next whole day at work, which will be Monday. So I have something to be happy out for the start of next week :) Thank you so much for keeping those videos coming in such regular periods
Thank you for this! This is the best of of your videos that I have watched. I loved the huge variety from the dense urban areas to the empty wilderness. Vermont in the mist took my breath away. And that final climb is just beyond description. I wanted to get out with you to breath the mountain air. I live close to Mt Snowdon in the UK, which at 1,065m (3494ft) is the highest mountain we have outside of Scotland. It is increasingly known by its Welsh language name, Yr Wyddfa. like Mount Washington, Yr Wyddfa also has a mountain railway to the summit, but no road. Being further north than Mt Washinton, the tree line is much lower so it feels more like a mountain, even though it is not so high. (i suggest searching 'Snowdon' on Google images and Wikipedia.)
That's really awesome, thanks! I'd love to come and see that mountain one day, as well as Scotland. I was actually surprised that Mt. Washington's summit was above the tree line. I've driven through the Colorado Rockies, and the tree line there is generally around 12,000 feet, not 5,000 like this one.

I took virtually all interstates going back to Virginia: I had to retrace the route to VT and I-91 south, then I connected with I-84 west to I-81 south, and then US-15 from Harrisburg to VA. That will be my next video, and it will be uploaded in real time.
I've lived my entire life around Philadelphia, born and raised. I took US 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) through Philly ONCE, and vowed to never again. Constant heavy traffic, poor design, always accidents on it. No wonder it's one of the most hated roads in the city
@unclecoolie there are lots of hated roads in Philly. US 1/US 13 is one of the top ones. The Schuylkill Expressway (I 76), Vine Street Expressway (I 676), Broad Street, Lincoln Drive, Kelly Drive. It's so stressful driving in the city that I'm opting to take the train if I ever have to go there
I got really busy with work over the last several months, but I plan to upload 3 more videos from this trip, and I may have a big trip coming up in December.

Unclecoolie I wanna do a texas road trip
Do it! I did one two years ago.
I've lived my entire life around Philadelphia, born and raised. I took US 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) through Philly ONCE, and vowed to never again. Constant heavy traffic, poor design, always accidents on it. No wonder it's one of the most hated roads in the city
I live in the DC area, so, unfortunately, I'm used to gridlock. And US-1 in the DC area is also terrible.
@unclecoolie there are lots of hated roads in Philly. US 1/US 13 is one of the top ones. The Schuylkill Expressway (I 76), Vine Street Expressway (I 676), Broad Street, Lincoln Drive, Kelly Drive. It's so stressful driving in the city that I'm opting to take the train if I ever have to go there
Unclecoolie do Omaha Ne to San Antonio TX
I am planning another trip, possibly next month, but it will likely be northwest of that route.
What times speed is this in?
2x. I will upload the real time version after I upload my Mt. Washington-to-Virginia video, which should be next week.
Yes Famialy
I got really busy with work over the last several months, but I plan to upload 3 more videos from this trip, and I may have a big trip coming up in December.
@@unclecooliethat's why you upload less back in day?
@@Kirkmc2_bartsimpson2014 Yes.
We don't use Kilkommiemeters in America

Fun piece of useless information for you guys. At 4:21:21, there's the Eveready Diner on the right. It was actually featured on Triple D on the Food Network WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back in 2008.
That's so cool! I grew up not far from there. Now I'll have to dig into Discovery+ and look for that episode.
0.5x is normal speed
Yes. I will upload this in real time after I finish my video of the drive back to Virginia from Mt Washington, which I hope will be in the next week.

Nice to see New England get some love :) Excited to see the real time videos! Still haven't finished your latest coast to coast trip yet, haha
Thanks! I wanted to accomplish two things in this trip: visit Vermont (the last state in the lower 48 that I hadn't been to before), and to visit Mt. Washington. I still plan to upload the NY-CA in hyper lapse after I finish the videos from this trip first.
