It isn't just her shape change that's impressive, her acting ability far out stripes her murdering abilities. If only she could contain her blood lust she would be truly a dangerous threat no one could handle. It would be easy as anything for her to kidnap and kill your lover then pretend to be them try and sleep with you then boom sneak attack, you have no armor or weapons or equipment good luck.
If I had a nickel for every time Maggie Robertson voiced a character who said she'd cut someone to ribbons I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
I find it incredibly funny that Astarion is the player character for the interactions in this video, because it's like a Dimitrescu and Heisenberg reunion playing out in a fantasy world.
Kinda surprised the Bard Class doesn't have horny dialogue options for Orin, both to throw her off her game (and to likely fail) at a romance attempt, heh. Prob a D30 roll at best uWu If you can fuck your way into a situation you can fuck your way out, the bards always say!!
I think they left that out because if you're playing the Dark Urge, she's your little half-sister (or niece...her genetics are a bit fucked up and an excellent explanation for why she's as batshit as she is) and ALREADY the subject of incest. Her family tree is a circle. Seriously she's worse than the Habsburgs.
There’s a great online comic called Oglaf that does comedy based on old fantasy tropes. But anyways there’s a funny one in which a group of explorers go into a “sexy dungeon” called the “Tumescent Necropolis” and describe their adventuring as “solving everything through murderfucking” - which is basically the classic hoe bard MO lol.
Calling her "murder mommy" feels a bit odd since she's said (via implication and a few bits of math) to be quite young. Like, DEFINITELY younger than a Dark Urge PC (who's minimum 30 years old, likely a LOT older if you're not human) And changelings mature faster than humans, so it's very likely she's less a "murder mommy" and more a "murder little sister". Which is quite literal for the Dark Urge.
@@SpAcEdOut-be7cm there’s an entire DurgeTash community. I think the creators knew we would simp for most of these characters, so made them endearing in that way
I have party full of magic users and cleric is a must. Maybe paladin would help too, I haven't yet tried that class. But you need someone who can make damage to the undead and heal you. It will be useful in many fights. I have karlach too, and having one barbarian is definitely a plus. So try switching one party member. I'd recommend you'd take either a cleric or a tank.
Man, Orin was really a squandered opportunity. I get, that she is (in actual lore) supposed to be this cringy little "lolrandom" girl, desperately aching for her parents and grandparents approval and she doesn't really "get" Bhaal , but... man sometimes you just have to roll your eyes at this cheesy crap.
The more I play the game myself and see everyone else play on here the more obvious it is that the designers never meant for us to have any say in the story 🙁 No matter what you do they force you on with tiny variations if you've got different characters or have done something else. I'm getting kind of bored of it already, it's not as great a game as everyone's been saying, to each their own I guess 🫤
There is only so much you can do, both in a video game and in a real life D&D session. Try finding different paths and endings for just a general morning routine, that alone has HUGE variations. Now imagine having a game with 10 playable characters/companions and dozens of side characters and NPCs relevant to the story. Even if we just take the 10 playable characters and the 3 chosen ones into account, that's 13 character relationships on its own, countless decisions you could make. It is simply impossible to have any game where the ending is 100% influenced by the player, unless you use true AI and super computers for that. You have to limit yourself as a writer and developer in the amount of endings you can create and the level of influence the players can have, it would simply be too much otherwise.
Orin being able to shapechange would be incredibly powerful if not for the fact that she can hardly keep it together for two minutes.
It isn't just her shape change that's impressive, her acting ability far out stripes her murdering abilities. I think it's because she's cannonically DUrge's sister/great-neice and the game wasn't gonna allow incest.
