Thank you to whoever shot this video. We need to understand the real impact of war. I do not think Liberians should have had to die to oust Taylor, but he’s gone and far away, and I hope that they will heal.

No.. this is what happens when these type of people go to war.. America has been at war for the past 20 years and we never used children as soldiers.

Even the families needs rehabilitation because they’re also traumatized. Tht lil boy you knew is no longer the ones coming bk to you. So the families needs some of intervention to know how to accept or coop with the act their their child(ren) was once a child soldier. This is hard on both ends

The child soldiers were given huge doses of drugs like cocaine and meth. Using drugs in childhood, especially on an empty stomach, can seriously derange your mind.

What happened in Liberia was very tragic. Taylor gave little children an AK47 and turned them loose on their own people. It was a terrible thing and many people died. I have friends that lived there during the war and I went back with them after the war. I love the Liberian people, I keep hoping to go back one day soon. God save you Liberia. It is nice to hear their special dialect of English again. Liberia Liberia

My cousins consider themselves Nigerian first before American. They are not so proud of their American nationality compared to how happy they are being Nigerians. They just love Africa that much. Just like me, I'm only American by nationality but I'm a full blooded Nigerian(mom and dad). I say I'm Nigerian whenever I'm asked of my nationality and I'll fight anyone trying to deny me of my Nigeria heritage cause I speak pijin English and Yoruba fluently. So yea Nigerian I am.

The freedom I have in Nigeria is too much. We play soccer in the rain and smoke weed on Lekki beach or by a river side in Port Harcourt whenever we go there. The reason I'm not into the American way is cause I'm too used to Nigeria not cause I don't like the USA but cause Naturally, I want the world to see me as a Nigerian. Sometimes I wear Ofi to work with bead necklaces all around my neck. Even though I'll become the laughing stock in my office, some secretly ask me to help them get one. 9ja!!

I did my research and I found out your comment was the stupid one. What I'm saying is Liberians need to prove they are independent by changing their flag to something original something that represents their struggle and sovereignty. It's in no way accusing them of not being original. It's just that I feel they deserve better than what Americans left them.

Life is so hard for many people. It is sad. Everyone has a right to be happy. Most grief is caused by religion. Some day people will be educated and there will be no more religion. Then maybe we will all live in peace and harmony. Of course, that is a long way off. To educate all people's is a huge undertaking. But someday it will be. Good luck to all these children. I do so want them to be happy. Children are not supposed to be unhappy of afraid.

My soul is in Liberia because I love the country and the people. My best friends are Gio, Krahn, Kpelle, Bassa and from all over the country. My dream is to go back and help however I can. After reading the comments on this issue one thing has become very clear, no one knows what is going on in africa. So the first thing that we do is talk about how it is each races fault. Blacks dont have the capacity to run there own country, yet we see barack obama about to run US. Whites would be no where without blacks, yet they are still prosperous. We worry to much about colour and not about the fact that we are people, that we are human. You have all forgotten this is about the children.

My cousins are Afro Americans(Nigerian mom and Afro American dad) and they are so much in love with their motherland (Africa). We all come back to Nigeria every December as a matter of fact, they call themselves Nigerians. Why are people looking to separate themselves from Africa so much? Trouble don't last you know? It's only a lesson to learn.

Because it is our country pledge of allegiance....just to notify you on our country history, it was founded by free african american slaves from the United States....being that they were from the united states and familar with the country's culture, they decided to form Liberia in accordance with America...that's why we have similar flags and places...and our country was named after the fifth American President James Monroe, who also helped with the liberty of these former slaves...

Eye for an eye making the whole world go blind.
How could you ever expect peace when your on a war path?!
If you want peace start learning how to be peaceful then teach it to others. If they refuse to get taught your a bad teacher. But at least you won't be a bad man and not shaming Africa by changing in the type of man that doesn't deserve to walk on Africa's soil.
P.S. if your able to spell hate with three capital letters have some respect for Africa and give it at least 1.

    Webster5623,
I don't see what being black and running a country have to do with the other. You say this as though Liberia has always been at war and like the US is not at war right now. The brutality of the killings due to drug use is completely horrible but that does not change the fact that it is war. Sounds like you are a racist and I hope that you are not african-american with such distorted views of your people. The only thing that I agree with you on is that it is all about the children.
