I think all diagonal elements could be negative in 2x2 matrix and matrix can still be positive /semi positive definite..What matters is the Principal determinants signs and order.

      1. Using eigenvalues to find the definiteness of a matrix
      2. Using leading principal determinants to find the definiteness of a matrix
      3. Tests for definiteness
      Thank you

i cant read the defintion of the leading pricipal minors...
"The leading prinicpal minor of order k of an nxn matrix is obtained by deleting the last n-k... WHAT?
