That could be a good one. I think it's really smart to just change out the hood and not even mess with the rust issues. Looking forward to seeing the end result. I still liked the Alto more.
do some window tint, some kind of upper or mid spoiler on the back, a split exhaust coming out of the rear wheels obviously, 4 speaker sound system, and a dope steering wheel
The first thing I would do with the Minica is replace the hood. I would replace it with the one from the racer version that has the hood scoop. Then I would add a turbo to the engine to give it a bit more life.
They could ship to you depending on how far you are might be worth it, I already got the alto taken from me I could get you this one for a good deal too 😂
only real issue i have is its not a manual. its a must with my ADHD. that hood is a pain to fix cut and patch if its as bad as i think it is. if that seam is gone then yeah it can get pricey. its going to need a lot of bushings. 10:10 was that smoke puffs out the back under load??
@@Waybeforethefame - If it's white puffs, it could be a head gasket, sucking a tiny amount of antifreeze into a cylinder and burning it. You'd usually see white smoke on startup. Is the antifreeze level decreasing? 10:10 looked more like it's burning oil. Rings or valve stem seal?
@@Liberty4Ever im thinking head work, not a lot for bottom end but im used to engines 3 times the size smoking. its going to need a leak down test to be sure but that much cylinder pressure could cause ring blow by cause it is basic car and didnt get the best care so walls could be scored or rings could just be stuck. it needs like seafoam treatment down the intake and it clear up. i can think of a few things. worst is u gotta rip apart the head and replace valve stem seals. that would lead to oil contamination real quick thining out the oil causing that blow by. do a seafoam treatment on it and see where that gets you. if it doesnt clear up a leak down test to see or better hear where ur combustion is going. with that lil of blow by maybe could get away with running restore oil treatment in it to bump compression or seal it a bit better. i know that stuff works well enough for me not to rebuild my free junkyard d15b7 bottom end. top end the valve stem seals where fried. oil get thin enough the oil would just drain into the exhaust. the way d series leans tends to put issues with oil soaking the seals. kinda like hondas e07 engines are so far leaned over they look like they wont have the oil drain/pooling issues in the head.... TANGET XD
@@Waybeforethefame ...its not just a roll of smoke its puffing...crraaap ... apon further review it could be one piston is weak. better phrased as one cylinder could be weak. im not sure basic tests like a compression and leak down will tell you more.
My previous comment was that bubbling rust on the outer lip of the hood wouldn't be bad to fix if it wasn't perforating (on both sides), but it is, so I think that's not a particularly easy fix. The proper fix would be to grind out the rust and weld in new steel, body filler, prime, paint and clear coat. That's probably not feasible if you can buy a hood from Japan and have it shipped. I just bought four Yokohama Geolander tires for my Hijet for $350 including UPS air shipping from Japan. That's crazy. They were here in a few days. I'd fix the hood and paint the entire car white so the door jams match, but not get a super nice expensive paint job. The Minica has a lot of up potential. The econobox could become a neat little car with some TLC, accessories and upgrades. I like the idea of a 30 day Minica flip but not if those 30 days are working outside in New York in October. I'd expect a lot of rain days.
I heard those Geolanders are one of the best tires for these trucks, im thinking of getting the minica next week but if it has a blown head gasket maybe its not worth the risk
@@Waybeforethefame - People like to put oversize off road tires on the mini trucks but they rub (even with a 2" lift), they increase the effective gear ratio so the little engine can't rev high enough in 5th gear to produce max power so they reduce the already lacking top speed, and the larger tires kills the fuel economy. The Geolander tires are the stock size (tiny) but have good mud and snow tread so they're good off road. Yokohama made the Super Digger II tires and I think they had even more aggressive tread but they discontinued them and now offer the Geolander tires in their place. Bridgestone and Toyo also make tires that look like the Geolander tires.
@@Waybeforethefame - If the Minica has a blown head gasket, it's not very blown because it's obviously making good compression based on the road test. I think it's likely valve stem seals, or maybe a stuck ring. It may be possible to do a liquid overhaul. Run some engine flush in the oil for five minutes of idle, then drain the oil to degunk the inside of the engine. Change the filter and use good full synthetic oil. That could free a stuck oil ring. It's possible the rings are worn but very unlikely on an engine with such low mileage. If a valve stem seal is leaking, it might be possible to put some AT-205 Re-Seal in the oil to stop the valve stem seals from leaking.
thats what ill do I just need to figure out how ima get to NJ and back with the car but ill do a oil change asap and some sea foam. along with plugs and wires ect @@Liberty4Ever
At last, a decision (almost). Thank the Lord for that, I was beginning to suffer emotional stress from all those choices. A little disappointed to hear that you're not necessarily going for a wrap. I could but would either be very expensive to ship normally and get it ina week or so. Or I could get it shipped ina container for cheap but would take 3 months
@@Waybeforethefame Yeah, I admit I've never shipped anything that big from Japan not in a container. It's not a super complex curve on the hood so a good metal guy should be able to fix it. I'll be watching :)

It was only a few years ago that certain people started complaining about Rising sun but the pattern has hundreds of years of history, and was not used only for military.
The reason the A/C did not blow cold air was bc you had the Temp control on HEAT. Move it to COLD and then try it.

you in the Patreon shoot me a message on there. I can give you a couple suggestion to import or stateside

paint the hood the rising sun flag then you dont have to paint the whole car
