      I like your funny personality as you present these nice tips. I though my sister and I's stomach was the only ones that did that when we breath deep. Do you know why it does that? Also I started doing belly breathing a long time ago and now it seems like my stomach is kinda always "out" and it doesn't feel like there's much more room to breath in really deep. I am overweight and have been so since I started doing it. Can your belly get "stuck" in the outward position? I know it's kind of a silly question.

      Hi Doc Jo. I would like to ask you for advice. I feel like always needing to take deep breath and when i can't take that deep breath. I feel very uneasy. At the same time, when i try to take a dep breath in, it's not that i can sure do it. Just like when i need a deep breath, sometime or many other times i can take in the full deep breath.

      If you sleep at an incline that will help with your breathing some. It’ll help keep of some of the weight on your lungs when you lay flat. Doing simple breathing exercises three times a day will help strengthen your lungs and help with shortness of breath. This isn’t fixing the problem for good if you have things like cops or other illness b it it will help

Then I found your video, and started doing these exercises 3-4 times a day for last one week. And I need not take my inhaler henceforth as the coughing problem reduced significantly. Will this excersise be useful for a 80 yrs old person? His breathe gets stuck sometimes. This has been happening once in two month for last 2 years.
    Once the breathe gets stuck he cannot exhale unless you rub his back vigoruously for about 50-100 times. This process takes 5-10 mins. Although he is 80, apart of this problem he is fit and fine. What could be done?

    What is the best time to do these exercises? Whether one should do the exercise immediately after having a meal or just before going for a meal? Whether to drink water immediately after doing these exercises or just before doing these exercises? Please guide.

    Hello Doc - I was a moderate smoker for about 35 years. But, have totally stopped smoking since almost one year. I have started the exercises suggested by you. How long will it take to improve the condition. I am 64 and have some difficulty like short of breath. Pl reply.

    • @AskDoctorJo
      @AskDoctorJo 9 лет назад

      +Kandi Sreedhara Murthy It really depends on how much damage you have. However, with that said, the lungs are pretty self healing, so once the smoking was stopped, the healing already started. It might be 4-6 weeks before you notice a difference though. Good luck!

    Plz help me, I don't have cough or cold but have symtoms of shortness of breath since 3-4 months. I don't have any chest pain but sometimes feels like there is mild pain in like my lungs have cracked line sometimes on right side or sometimes on left side of chest. Usually shortness od breath don't bother me but sleeping flat somtimes feels like I'm going out of oxygen.
    I also have GERD since a year and I learnt from some websites that GERS also causes chest problems like bronchospasms, asthma, etc.

      Try breathing only through your nose... it prevents bacterias getting to your throat, which should cause your cough.

      When I moved my arm fast or when i was standing up from sitting,, but as I said i’m good now, can it happen because of lack of sleep? It was a period with very little sleep at that time and not exercising :/

    Good evening, Doc Jo! I've been a subscriber for a year now and I decided to check your past videos, I don't really comment but I really appreciate all your videos. So recently my breathing is fast, like when I compared it with my dad his 1 breathe is like 2 breathe for me. It hurts my chest and my oxygen lowers because of it. Is it possible to treat/fix my fast breathing with doing some breathing exercises?? Thank you in advance! 😄

    • @AskDoctorJo
      @AskDoctorJo 2 года назад +1

      Thanks. It really depends on what is causing the fast breathing, but in general, yes, it's possible to get it better.

      @@AskDoctorJo Doc, I honestly don't know what's causing my breathing to be fast and why my oxygen sat% sometimes go down. Because all my cardio, pulmo and blood test came back normal so this is a mystery I've been dealing with for quite a while now. They say this could be anxiety triggered but can anxiety really lowers your oxygen sat%? Anyways, so I've been doing some breathing exercises recently and it helps sometimes, it specially helps me become calm when I'm scared or stressed because of this. But doc can you give me more advice about how to control my fast breathing properly? thank you again! ❤️
      PS. Sorry for the late reply doc, I didn't saw your reply quickly youtube didn't notify me at all 😔

    • @AskDoctorJo
      @AskDoctorJo 2 года назад

      Anxiety can cause O2 sats to go down because when stressed or anxious, we do not breathing in fully getting the oxygen we need. I have a few other videos specifically for stress/anxiety. Some are more breathing techniques, and some are relaxing exercises and stretches. You can find them on my channel: ruclips.net/user/askdoctorjo
